I do want to put my theory in the ring here if you don't mind myelin. Our guardian always has seemed weird since they were revived all that time ago, while I'm not sure how a little ball can bring a skeleton back to life, I do want to point out that maybe those who are revived by the light are susceptible to being controlled by the darkness. Since the Vex are millions of cells in a liquid they can in fact invade a guardian by their vulnerability of not being a truly sentient being, we were dead then brought back, something is missing. Same went for SIVA, the iron lords could bring themselves back, same as regular guardians today and they too were susceptible to being controlled, or infected in this case. Granted, the powers that be might be strong enough to control any human, or any species really... but why is it that the vex would not try to control civilians when SIVA succeeded and did so with the iron lords...? Might be that maybe since our new selves are only ripped back and brought back as a shell and not a true being anymore, they are able to invade and turn us into what they need. Just my thoughts.

Its again, a theory. When the ishtar collective were decimated by the vex, they weren't turned into mutant hybrids, and when the iron lords were attacked by SIVA they became mutants of a sort. I truly believe guardians, since they were brought back from bone are missing a certain element that non-guardians do not... I'd like to think this over and discuss it with the lore masters I.E. myelin, byf and the like to see what they think. I really think there is a discussion to be had here... unless you wanna message and help me straighten my theory to an end or a meaning. HMU fam :)

Veneficus Ignis the Vex consider anything unrelated to them imperfect and flawed, and they want everything to be their computerized thought process of perfect, hence the desire to always mechanize planets. I doubt they would want to bind themselves to an organism or object they consider imperfect

Off topic for the video but do you guys think it's a possibility of the return of warlords in destiny 2? Since the last city is destroyed law and order for guardians has to be crippled too and maybe we have to fight some of the guardian warlords

Hey Myelin i just realized somthing from the destiny 2 trailer and that is that you dont see a single ghost with anyone. Could the cabal shield that cover the traveler have cut us off from our ghosts?? I would really like to hear your thoughts on this.

So watching this now after destiny 2 has been released is amazing, we've met Asher Mir and there is an adventure on IO where small time capsules held in a dead warmind are used to send a message to us from someone. At a location of one of the capsules, there's a cex object to scan that tell us that it has been tampered with for the use of an EXO, in the message of the music your ghost tells you fragmented parts about not forgetting an ancient war!!!! What if the exo stranger is in fact still fighting a war that present day guardians have forgotten?

Myelin Games, have you thought about looking into the Guardians that correspond to each raid (Praedyth, Eris Morn, Variks, Morn again, and Saladin) and any possible link between them? I'm unsure of if there is any connection, but along with that looking ahead to Destiny 2 who do you think will correspond to the Gary raid? Possibly Cayde-6?

I really like the end info on the exo stranger. when we begin the game, we get a glimpse of her and nothing more. I say it's intentional. Maybe, in the end of our Destiny, she goes back in time to our beginning to change it. She states she wasn't"forged" in light. So was she was forged by darkness? She also says "evil so dark it despises other evil" & "When our paths cross, ground could break". We will cross her path again.

I can see the vex and exo connected somehow since in the golden age when exo were created they already found the vex architecture on Venus, the stone tower in exo dreams and the mark both seem to suggest the citadel is this tower. So perhaps exo are reconstructions of vex frames given life by the traveler? I dunno either way great vid myelin

my theory on this is that the armor you can obtain from VoG says that it feels natural like skin and that it has almost a mind of its own, and the armor could indeed have replaced a guardians skin and turned them into a vex mind, but they still have the light and can still think for themselves its just that they aren't what they originally were

The Exo Stranger could have Ben infected by the Vex, but not completely when she contacts us on venus. She wanted us the destroy the Heart in the black garden, maybe she thought that would save her... Maybe in destiny 2 we'll find her under Vex control.

I have always been fascinated with the Vex. I am willing to say that I'm guilty of doing Vault far too many times. I have a full set of every piece of gear. I have become obsessed with the Vex. Studying them. Learning them. I'm a Hunter. I have been wandering the caverns of the Vault of Glass on Venus. I've had far too many encounters. My limbs are becoming that of my enemy. My ghost is changing too. I'm starting to forget whether or not I came here yesterday, or years ago. I'm starting not to care. This is beginning to feel like home.

Interesting that vex are made of silicon instead of carbon, where as, if i am not istaken, that Carbon is just above Silicon in the periodic table of elements, which is important because carbon and silicon are very close in the atomic pattern make up. Carbon, if you do not know, is the element that makes up mostly all organic compounds in our would because of it's uniform pattern, and Silicon, with it's placement right below carbon, has a similar atomic pattern, if i am not mistaken Kind of makes sense with how the Vex are in Destiny if you start thinking this way

silicon life has been theorised for some time as it can form similar compounds to carbon however it takes a LOT more energy to form them and they break down very easily. Currently silicon is not considered as an option for life. Interstingly Boron was suggested recently.

I've had this theory for a while now. I personally feel as if the Stranger was taken by the Vex and was experimented on and is now a mix between a exo and Vex because of the way she teleports in and out of time supposedly and the fact that she seems to have such a hatred towards them. So I feel like if you want to learn more about the Vex and what they really are it will come from The Stranger herself.

Another thing backing up The Exo Stranger being a hallucination is the fact that we haven't been around the vex much since vanilla, and have we seen the stranger ever since? Nope! That might be because we've had our distance from the vex with other non-vex problems, so the hallucinations have stopped, for now.....

I highly doubt that she is a hallucination, but her time travelling abilities seems to affect the mind of those who came in direct contact with her which may or may not give off the impression of a hallucination. If someone would appear and dissapear as they please through the means of time travel, then I would not be surprised if you as an outsider think and feel like that the stranger with no name and no time to explain anything is a hallucination. The thing is. Your Ghost is also talking to her when you meet her on Venus for the first time. Could two individuals have a hallucination and image the exact same thing? Or what about the scene when you escape the cosmodrome? she is as a matter of fact appearing there as well watching us, long before we even knew what the Hive or Vex were. another argument that I would like to make is that the Future War Cult posses as so called CHASM that allows them to see glimpses of different time lines. Some golden age technology that was slightly based on vex technology. Why I mention this, is that you get the No Time To Explain pulse rifle from them when you do that quest and would therefore argue that the exo stranger is not a hallucination. Simply because there are solid " footprints" / evidence left in form of guns that support her excistence. plus the ingame scenes where she appearse in the background more than once.

I've never heard of a hallucination handing out a gun from the future before mate. The exo stranger is one of the best parts of the destiny story we still know absolutely nothing about. I'm guessing her whole story and identity won't be revealed for a couple of years, which is a shame.

Welcome back Guardians, that was very interesting .. I find it very weird that the ghost's eye turned red like the vex vessels after getting infected, how can it be ? The vex are liquid and their vessel which is machinery got the red eye, but the ghost doesn't have any biological components like liquid ... or does it and we don't know yet ? It occured a thought to me, what if the vex got infected by something we don't know, hence their red eye like the ghost which we know he got infected ??? This theory seems legit and i never heard of it, that could explain the vex agressivity. I know about the sword logic but still, can it have some influence ? What if they got sick in the past, or some other unknown enemy poisoned them to behave like this ? Maybe the darkness infected them ? If this is true, i don't think the exo stranger knows about it because she says they are pure evil like they always been like this, but perhaps she met them like this and not before. Maybe there is a way to cure them and stop their agression ? It does make sence that if they share a mind across 1 million units, you only needed to infect one to spread like wild fire. Maybe this is what Osiris is studying, as far as we understand he already knows how to time travel so why does he keep on studying them ? Perhaps to develop a cure ? To make the vex peacefull ? Or to save someone long gone ? Perhaps Kabr, Praedyth were Osiris best friends ? Or Osiris could be somehow involved with them ? It does make sence, they got ties with the vex and all of them are gone except osiris who is studying them ! Very interesting ..

You make a good point, maybe the exo stranger is a vex guardian. I say this because, in the last cut scene of vanilla story mode you see the exo stranger walk out of time disappearing like the vex.

In destiny 2 I think it would be super cool to play as a vex but also there should be some sort of alliance with the fallen as to help them rebuild a better system after the Siva crisis and if there is some sort of way to customize your character you should be able to change certain limbs or parts of the body into vex.

Myelin Games, you see this exo stranger in destiny 1 in a few mission's and after finishing the campaign. I have no doubt we will see this Exo Stranger once again in Destiny.

Well, we are already aware of the Exo Stranger's ability to gain access to temporally anomalous items; for instance her rifle. "Ghost's analysis suggests this weapon has been exposed to incredible forces...and that parts of it shouldn't yet exist." Given that the Vex are the only ones who make use of temporal mechanics with any sense of regularity, it's safe to assume that both the Stranger and her Rifle have at least some semblance of Vex technology. To what extent is difficult to say without having seen more of her outside of just a few tiny cutscenes.

Myelin, to compare to the vex river of time I look at Osiris and how he dissolved into it, if you read Necrochasm's lore text then it mentions eternity, Osiris was looking for immortality right? Are we aware of any other last words of him? The insanity symbol on all weapons of sorrow,(Thorn, Bad Juju) It shows 3 symbols,Praedyth, Kabr, and Osiris? "The dreams" in the lore of the hezen lord gear, to say visions of insanity? Did Necrochasm have anything to do with all of this? This is Crota:Necrochasm as Oryx:Touch of Malice? I wonder? Necro referring to undead or reoccurring and the CHASM future war cult machine? Continuous visions of the future, a different version of this weapon the chosen tool of death for Osiris? Just a theory though so please feel free to wrong me:)

Prepare for a long comment: So when we are first greeted by the exo stranger, it is in the very first mission. But we really meet her the first time we see the vex. Could she really be a hallucination from the encounter? Plus, when we do meet her, she crushes the fluid container on the goblin with her foot, which would've exposed her even more to the vex. So could it be a time loop, where she stepped on the goblin, thus allowing her to go back and forth in time and come back to when we fight the vex, but in an alternate dimension maybe? Anyway, when we meet the queen and her brother we are told to bring back the head of a vex gate lord. And we do, but somehow it was cut off from the body so ghost could transport it to the reef. But how could it be cut without the guardian touching it? Speaking of which, why isn't the guardian, as in the one you play as, affected by touching the vex either? Because you can melee a vex and it will do nothing to you, and in fact the only part of a vex that can kill you is their weapons and not themselves. Additionally, let's suppose that the liquid can come out of the container it's being held in, and won't go into the ground. Isn't someone destined to walk in it and be exposed? This video raises so many questions!

So two key points I want to bring up and I'm not certain if anyone got this as well. Seeing as the vex can manipulate time and move through it at will, this gives rise to the possibility that they can move between different realities and possible timelines. How awesome would it be if in one of these timelines, the cabal invasion ended the guardians and in an effort to replace us as a means of self protection Rasputin created the vex, and he is the conciousness at the heart of all vex. i mean we kinda saw a vex guardian, the exo stranger says that she was not forged in light so maybe in the future the vex realize a greater threat and create vex that can essentially wield weapons forged by light but are not necessarily loyal to the traveler which gives more purpose to the exo stranger and why she can wield vex technology.
