@@sirsanti8408 If you mean the internal temperature of the exobody, I suspect it's kelvin because if it weren't, then it would not be a very functional body for long. Probably keeps the internals at sub-zero temperatures to keep advanced electronics supercooled and running at high efficiency maybe?

I realized something: The research from the "Bonus Appendages" tests performed at Eventide were probably what eventually became, through Praksis, the design for the Eliksni exobody design we encounter in the DSC raid. It's partially because of Clovis that we had to fight Atraks-1.

Probably one of my favorite lore entries/books in all of Destiny… learning about an entire solar system converted by the vex, and a star exceeding its lifespan by billions of years is so interesting… especially from an astronomy major! I truly love this game

@@frankmigliore9240 possibly, what the vex did to this star system was a more advanced object of something called a Dyson sphere, a structure able to harness the energy of a star. Prolonging the life of a star this long though… I don’t know if that is currently possible to our understanding of physics, especially not a hyper giant, but this is fiction after all and although the lore makers understand the universe, they put their own Destiny spin on it!

@@FrostReach66 if I remember correctly what the vex are doing is a combination of a Dyson swarm and star lifting. Extending the life of a star by removing heavy metals from its core and adding more hydrogen is not necesarily impossible and has been theorized as a way to extend the life of our sun as well as something to be done to other stars one day. As a solution to the low amounts of heavy metals in the early universe it is quite ingenious, though I wonder where the vex got enough metal to build such a structure in the first place...

@@lkv0315 It is a marvel yes, but sadly not one we have seen in game. It does bring an interesting question however, why do the vex use bronze? Both copper and tin (the components to bronze) are more resource intensive than say titanium or iron, both objectively stronger metals. The properties of bronze (maybe for its mailability and possible use in electromotors?) must be worth it to them.

If they're so advanced, why can't they shoot straight, why are their weapons so weak (Guardians can be hit multiple times and only suffer minor damage), why do the drones move so slowly, and why is their armour so weak (one or two shots from a decent Guardian weapon is enough to kill them). Seriously, the mismatch between the Vex lore and gameplay is a gaping chasm of plot-hole, or something ....

Prodigy Logic that’s the more Human thought process actually. A Vex would just recognize fire and know instinctively that fire=extinguish. Reasons such as pain that would justify it for us are extra steps for them

That pinnacle of cooperation is aimed at the annihilation of other pinnacles of cooperation. and those complex, recursive realities, are but false imitations of reality. The Vex's goal is to assimilate the entire universe into a single massive Vex construct. They do not follow the Gardener's philosophies, they perhaps unknowingly follow the path of Darkness.

Is it really co-operative if its with yourself? Vex are essentially 1 mind, after all. As for the vex being aligned, they typically aren't, in that they hate and fear paracausal entities. They technically follow the darkness, because the seek to make everything them, and apparently, in the garden before time, the vex are what resulted of the first system regressing into a single loop, the strongest loop that subsumed everything else into itself. Or something like that, my explanations are trash.

The idea of the Vex tormenting copies of us they produce reminds me of Roko’s Basalisk. The idea that a singularity-type AI may one day arise and make an example of those people who either willfully attempted to stop it’s creation or did nothing to aid it via infinate torment of perfect recreations of those people’s minds.

At some point, we'll need a video explaining the complete story of the Vex. I know about the pattern, the Black Garden and 2082 Volantis but I'm not sure how they transition from one another. Plus, how did the Vex get to Venus without invading the rest of Sol and why did they create important stuff (VoG and the Infinite Forest) in our system instead of in an empty one ?

Any heavier atom is created in other forms (like a supernova).

So many connections made because of this video and lore tab. The explanation of how the Vex actually function, about taking orders from a higher power. Sounds a lot like Siva, and Clovis did mention that he didn't want Rasputin to get a hold of any of that data. So - how did Rasputin get ahold of Siva? Another great vid Byf. As for the Vex, idk I'm still very lukewarm on them. They just feel like a filler enemy most of the time due to their lack of prominent enemies that actually do anything. Quria has really been the only Vex remotely interesting/threatening, and I feel like that isn't going to change now. A shame really, it just feels like we're getting into the Vex far too late

It could be the Darkness wanted him to create the Exos and trick him into letting the vex invade the solar system for some unseen goal. Regardless, Clovis was probably just being manipulated as a puppet in the Darkness’s grand plan.

I know this is meant to focus on Clovis, but is anyone else getting Toland vibes from Maya Sundaresh? I just realized she could have the potential, to use Toland's words, "to be our Virgil" with regards to the Vex (as he was to our knowledge of the Hive). I just hope we have some interaction with her eventually, because she can shed some much needed light (no pun intended) on the only enemy we know so little about.

The Vex forge star reminds me of the starforge from kotor. Both are mechanical monstrosities built to create tremendous resources by ancient alien races.

The Vex build their bodies and structures from materials farmed from stars nearly as old as the universe(s). And we rip them apart like tin foil.

So who made the Vex though? Were the Vex originally just some Organic Alien Species that ended up making themselves into the Vex while building Voltanis? Did an Alien Species make the Vex to build Voltanis for them or something? Or did the Vex just come into being as they are some other way? It’s interesting that Clovis has the assumption that there was an Alien Species on one of the nearby rocky planets surrounding the Star that did everything, maybe it’s a hint or maybe it’s literally nothing but him making an assumption. Either way, I find it interesting that it gets brought up.

Awsome lore reading and more new stuff I as a newer player to Destiny wouldn't have known... also can anyone tell me where is that footage from, after the lore text scrolling, some Vex mission no longer in the game? thanks Byf

That is one of the exo training simulations that pops up as post story content in the beyond light expansion.
