Main problem with D2 is that they want game to be live service but not invest the effort or resources for such. More areas like Pale Heart, and more updates to existing Destinations like the Dreaming City Tormentor, help give life in game.

I’m still annoyed they had seasons/campaigns that used old spaces and they didn’t even consider updating the destinations or adding back old ones. It feels like it should have been a slam dunk easy thing to update destinations with new secrets and such to get people to play them again. Mostly thinking: -Deep adds Titan again with a new underwater area -Wish updated Dreaming City -Echoes updates Nessus -Revenant adds back Tangled Shore with vampire enclaves/tower, just ANYTHING to make this feel like a vampire themed episode rather than what we got

I love how they continue to find ways to bring the issue back to being about player expectations when in reality they can't even deliver what they promise us; they said in numerous places, the dev livestream leading up to Revenant being one, that Revenant would be vampire hunter-themed (it is not) and that the exotic mission, in one of the TWABS in the month leading up to Act III, would be Castlevania-themed (it is not). This isn't even mentioning how tether has been disabled for THREE months in Vesper's along with the NUMEROUS bugs throughout the game (weightgate, Vesper's, tonicgate, guitar error codes and more) - I've been stuck at Step 9 out of 10 on Rogue Network for two months because the quest step is bugged due to the multiple instance states for Vesper's (it's impossible to find someone that's competent AND at the same step I am on; I would basically have to solo up until 3rd encounter at this point and I no longer have that strong enough interest in the game to bother trying another solo/solo-flawless)

onslaught was an utter mess this episode. I knew they would mess it up when duel destiny launched the way it did and they were very "slow" to make class items more obtainable. if they think im gunna spennd 300+ hours to get all class items and not have the resources OR stash space to even store them all it was like a "wtf moment" utterly poor decision on this. onslaught though i liked because of the shinies but it was also rewarding, onslaught salvation....... expecting me to spend 1+ hour per run to get trash rolls, no shinies and get pathetic resources to craft tonics that were bugged for almost 2 months on top of perk weighting......... yeah

@@CoNiCuZn Which is fair, but the thing is, they already took a survey when they had content creators try out Marathon at some event and asked them if they would most likely buy and play it when it comes out, and an overwhelming majority said no. They should have taken the hint. Because there are so many (already established) fps pvp games out there that are highly popular to compete with that people will most likely not abandon. If they released another Halo, then that would've been a different story.

Bungie took all its money and siphoned it into other projects despite the game losing its popularity. It’s a never ending train of fomo. Unlike any other mmo ever. Just create content for a year knock it down and start over.

I think we have a clear example of how to lead a long-term model game in Warframe. We don’t need a stupid D3 or D2; Destiny needs love directly from the people who created it, with a model based on the game’s growth rather than just focusing on the wallet, creating confusion among the storyline. You have to create contents when it’s truly valuable, and let the community engage with the game in a way that makes them happy to spend money (cosmetics, skins, ships, sparrows, etc.).

I hope Heresy is great because the Hive is awesome, very metal, and savathum. Even though this episode is very mid very glad, they tried making new designs on the weapons . Maybe yeah, they had the same shape, but they added like a carapace to them, which was nice, and the armor was great. I don't know if it's just me, but they (ALWAYS GOT TO HAVE A WAY OF GETTING A HIGHSTAT ARMOR IF YOU ARE PUTTING AN ARTIFACT MODS THAT DEALS WITH ARMOR FROM SEASON/EPISODE.) I have not gotten any highstat armor so the more scorn damage mod is useless to me since I'm not going to wear armor that is below my current one. Not saying should be guaranteed chance of high stat armor but make an activity or your tonic to have higher chances for it to drop.

Tried the new exotic mission. For me it is another miss so the only way to see the end of the episode will be.on You Tube. This Episode has been incoherent and I can’t see the vampire theme in it. I am sure people worked hard in getting the new mission built, populated and scripted, it looks nice but doesn’t work for me. As such, that means there is vey little to do until the next episode.

@@sneakybeakyicet6103the original d2 campaign which people paid for is gone, 80% of the guns in the game are recycled with some having 5+ legendary versions like the veist smg, forsaken campaign being removed after people bought it, season passes expiring and not being able to finish them afterwards even if you bought it only for them to bring those armor sets for MONEY IN EVERVERSE FFS, hard raid modes featuring no flexworthy cool looking armor of it’s own like d1 which youve played, adept weapons feeling and looking the same as legendaries and their mods being close to useless most of the time, seasonal activities leaving the game, seasonal story being 1) watching characters talk then they turn around and vanish 2) friendly ai is non existent and when they try something is the bare minimum , pvp balancing has been terrible after the release of darkness subclasses, no regular pvp map releases, no new pvp game modes, gambit no new updates, strike no specific loot (nightfall does not count, thats just reskinned guns), trials of osiris never had a new weapon design, half of trials armor is bad, no ANNUAL strike or pvp armor sets cause “its too much” but eververse is okay, game in general being even easier than it was before due to enemy ai being the equivalent of 2 iq points and our own characters being too powerful, paid content bosses like salvations edge having a reskinned taken captain for a boss and witness not moving at all (how was rhulk a better fight than his master?!?!), and of course meaningless characters no one cares about without coping really hard accompanied by bottom of the barrel writing like alloying eramis, a war criminal that costed lives and almost blew us up to just walk away free, WITH A POWERFUL ARTIFACT, TOTALLY CAPABLE OF RAISING AN ARMY AGAINST US BUT IT WONT HAPPEN CAUSE WE BELIEVE SHES GOOD. And of course, milking everyone with events, eververse skins that should be earnable through game play or even finishers. All in all, shit company trying to steal your money, not what they used to be in d1 days that you said you played, d2 is just too colorful and childish in terms of writing

At the start of the spisode I was dissapointed because it seemed the artifact was gnn have a hard focus on stasis but actually now the void options, while limited, are much more impactful/powerful. Even the few arc nodes were extremely helpful to my ionic trace build.

Sunsetting content was the worst decision they ever made. It’s one of the biggest reasons they aren’t getting enough new players or retaining them. People want to experience Destiny 2 from the beginning. I would rather them sunset weapons and keep all the old content. It doesn’t matter what their reasons are for doing it. They need to bring it back. This game WILL peter out and die if they can’t bring in new players.

Without all the layoffs i feel like they could have supported D2 and been secretly working on a D3 in the back ground. Maybe a 60/40 split of the workforce with the 60 working D3 and the 40 keeping us occupied with updates and Rise of Iron like expansions until D3's big reveal.

I've seen alot of people asking what a D3 would actually do, or straight up saying that it's not the solution; so here's a quick summary of fixes it would provide: New code base, to replace the buggy/scrambled mess we currently have (think those stupid pop-ups for subclasses, tonics and objectives that you already ticked-off), a new engine (to help with vault space/allow for more content to be in the game overall) and the ability to make MEANINGFUL updates to the servers. All of these things are not currentlt viable, due to them being too difficult or time-consuming to implement (without risking breaking the game). Bungie have stated that both the code and engine are major road blocks to un-vaulting content and fixing major issues, so a D3 or MAJOR remaster is needed to fix these problems.

yeah yeah everyone understands it should be built to be better and more stable with more content. but that doesnt change the fact that destiny 2 is their moneymaker and they have 1 more game to develop. going dark on D2 is not an option for them. This conversation would be more realistic if marathon wasn't being developed and D3 was, but thats not reality. Theres no point discussing D3 unless marathon does extremely well at this point.

Saying ‘we need D3’ misleads the focus toward something like a reboot. What we need is an update or a drastic change from the ground up, both technically and in how the contents are managed. I think all of what Bungie says is complete nonsense and a D3 would not fix any of that because Bungie already blamed the same things in Destiny1. They already said back in D1 that their code base is to hard to develop and the engine is not flexible enough so we need a Destiny2 and at the end they fixed nothing of that in the next game and we have the same problems even worse in Destiny 2. And on the other side you have a Warframe that was released even before Destiny1 never needed to have a new game doesn`t has any of Destinys problems despite it having like a 15 year old engine so in reality I think all of Bungie says is bollox they are just incompetent and their game will always end up with the same problems no matter what engine they use.

Oh, and how about finding a way for people who are dropping back in to catch up. We have a few friends that came back after a year or so and it takes DAYS to teach them how to build craft, and DAYS of playing to get the kit unlocked. All while under leveled to the point where they were getting one shot pretty constantly. If they had to do it without a Sherpa it’d be just brutal. There should be a buildcraft tutorial Why is there no shooting range in ANY of the public areas except for at the forge? Look at AC6 you can do your build, then pop into a test room and try everything out. The difficulty scaling is just way off. I feel bad for new players trying to figure all of this out.

People are asking for D3 but i don't know that will happen because bungie already lost soo many resources and also they are focusing on D2 and the other game so D3 will be out and a remake of D1 isn't going to solve issues, because that's just reusing a contact that we already got, i mean they are reusing contact already but we need something new like how they did with into the light we got onslaught and Pantheon and a lot of players enjoy that, i mean i would like to see Pantheon return and to bring back the old raids that we don't have anymore but reworks and more loot than we got before.

They say part of the issue of live service is that it's really hard, but they've also made it harder for themselves by adding content every year and then removing it, taking things from the players, as far as I know, Warframe has added content but never removed any, meaning there is always something to do. And if they did anything with Destiny 1, they should just do a PC release with all current content, and the only thing they should change is making Pocket Infinity updated to current max power. Don't even bother with cross-save if it takes real effort to do, I haven't played D1 in so long that starting from scratch would basically feel like a new game at this point.

I think this was the result of shortening the Episode last minute. Everyone complained about the time-gating for Echoes, so this was the change we got. I'm hoping that Heresy had more time to adjust accordingly. I personally liked the time-gating, as it made the seasons feel more paced. Now they just don't hit the same when you blow through the story so quickly.

The whole game is burning because the bungie executives opted to start a bunch of flashy side projects to show just how versatile the studio was to investors, instead of just locking in on the one franchise keeping the lights on and possibly branching out to one other game (marathon). Bungie's leadership led their subordinates right into the worst possible situation they could've experienced, and they had to go out of their way to screw their employees over like that.

One thing I wish they changed is when you get gilded, Conqueror, you can play any Nightfall on Grandmasters because not only does it give you an incentive to get it but also let's you play content in the game. For new players, I wish they didn't get bombarded with pop ups when they start. It is awful and a major turn-off for younger and older audiences. Destiny desperately needs to keep in and bring in new players. There is only so much a fan can play before they get burned out and play other games, then you have lots of quitting for a while, then come back after major dlc release. I'm not saying throw away fans but instead saying respect your fans but find a way of bringing new people to your community. Some will be a miss, but others will be a hit. Bungie should have someone in the studio or smth that their purpose is to start Destiny fresh/the very beginning and give feedback on it.

My issue with the content model is that it literally could work if Bungie hasn't neglected core activities since shadow keep. These activities are supposed to be what holds us over in-between drops and what we do in our free time, and yet they've gotten no investment over the last 5 years. The new PVP maps are cool, but PVP still sucks right now because it has no balancing, no fun gamemodes, and no rewards. Same with strikes and gambit, no new variation with no rewards. I swear that Bungie gets confused why people don't play the core activities and they just forget they ignored them as well, and it is hilarious. Just my thoughts.

Bungie lacks the creative power to dare make a third game even if it seems like an alright idea I’d say they need 5 years minimum 7-8 years in reality to give people anything substantially impressive enough to be better than D2 in its current state content wise which we know isn’t possible given “marathon” the joke of a game that will absolutely choke to death upon birth took priority over their cash cow game that’s had even more potential than halo yet was not realized to the degree we’ve all dreamed for because the mythos is too draining for Bungie and they aren’t even worthy of their own child anymore that they chose to scorn and neglect to death… if I’m wrong on anything do correct me but please, remember that this game and its lore/mythos are beautiful even though it’s in such a harsh state this time. The community and Bungie suck in their own ways whether it was people believing the over-hype for Lightfall failing to realize Bungie admitted after witch queen that the final shape was being extended back meaning obviously that Lightfall was gonna be screwed from the start and not carrying enough satiating narrative to dare compare with witch queen or final shape(but this community is full of the dumbest people) who then proceeded to be angry at the “content update” that was Lightfall offering raw resources for most part and quality of life stuff like a house of wolves part II type of dlc, and then Bungie truly flopped Nezarec and root of nightmares that was an abomination in how they dealt with that the story almost never fails hype when lore is involved unfortunately that and the months prior of build up was such a huge whiff that could’ve been a silver lining on that raid despite it being the quintessential easiest raid for new players that simultaneously offers some great options in PvP. Final shape had horrific server issues in the first week that ruined the experience and hype built for it that it needed to land killing what heart the playerbase may have had left putting the nail in the coffin for motivation to see anything past the stupid term “light vs dark” saga which wasn’t even the true conclusion of the story considering the true story is the battle of the gardener and winnower yet Bungie foolishly said that as some sort of stupid final gambit to lure people in and double down focus on marathon? Really? Like the one who warrants chaos and death for the flower game is the final boss we need to face, not the stupid fanboy who is this ugly monobrow white skinned grey alien with a megamind outfit on who is an absolute personification of OCD meets nihilism half-ass Jygallag. Not for nothing but this community and the content creators are definitely more annoying than Bungie given how whiney they are, but I understand the irritation from people, it’s just stupid that they haven’t done more to join into Bungie and get the powers that be out of there that have ultimately damned this game into oblivion when it’s on par with if not potentially able to go further than Star Wars at its peak for story telling and atmosphere… but no let’s get horny for an extraction shooter remaster that literally nobody except Pete Parsons is glad for to “relive the glory days” When it isn’t about what he wants it’s about what his customers want and he’s truly failed as a CEO to be made infamous throughout the eons after his death to be labeled a failure who whiffed greatness for his own lack of communication, awareness, and intelligence fundamentally to bear witness to his actual greatest victory that he could’ve had… sorry man I had to say this all you’re a soldier if you made it through this.

We will see with Halo going to unreal engine, but oftentimes a popular engine will have tons of documentation, and the problem with new content is that programmers have to wrestle with tiger engine to get new mechanics to work. If they had pre built plugins for the type of gameplay modes they wanted to implement, they could flood the game with content; but that leads to a different problem altogether. With a litany of content, new players will be utterly baffled on where to start, and hardcore players will still try to finish it in a week. Maybe the real solution is to stop listening to speedrunnners and competitive players?

We need solid new areas and unique missions or challenges. The fact content goes away and can't be put in a season by season Playlist kiosk sucks. No new player or guy who missed the content can replay it. Also remember world events for the community like stopping the Ship from hitting the city. Connecting everyone to fun community goals helps them find purpose in the game. The game has untapped potential but they don't seem to want to change.

Fear of missing out is killing D2. Warframe/Digital Extremes can teach Bungie how to keep players. It’s about player engagement and retention. Players are falling off. They don’t want to be like Warframe. Even though Warframe keeps a steady player base. Aztexcross is playing Warframe now.

The loot is boring now, nothing is unique anymore. D2 is bloated now, too much pointless activities. They need to go back to the drawing board with a mass refresh on the entire game at this point, not just adding a single lame activity for a season with loot that brings nothing unique. Remove battlegrounds from strikes, make boss focused loot drops again, refreshing gambit with armor that gave unique gambit perks was a fantastic update, they removed it and left gambit in the dust, adding damage gates to the boss, something thats universally hated. The crucible strike team was a step in the right direction, then they cut them, because they already dicked around the pvp community enough that most left. If seasons/episodes is the way of the future, they need to be making episodes in a Black Armory fashion, with big community secrets amd puzzles, not just the long drawn out engagement bate activities that they now give us. Now Bungie seems to be in such a bad state that they don't even want to bring unique experiences anymore, hell, for all we know all the developers that used to push for all the interesting stuff aren't even there anymore. The games walking on crutches with 2 broken feet at this point, and thats coming from a D1 vet that didnt even hate curse of osiris here...

Their core player base has aged with the game- showing loyalty in the face of so much mismanagement- and their response is that we aren’t the demographic they want to be playing. Can’t make this stuff up. I knew this game wasn’t being made for me anymore. I’m literally too old and responsible to be playing this game now, according to Bungie. And the worst part is they think we’re responsible for the age of the player base. They won’t fix the new light experience! They won’t make the story more presentable!! I didn't play D1 but from what I've seen it looks the same. D2 just looks better. As someone who didn't play, I wouldn't play a remaster. I'm sure ppl who played feel different. Just feels like a waste of time to play the same destinations again. D2 should have a past season activity rotator with updated rolls. D3 would need to be a new Galaxy. If they make a D3 and its the EDZ and Moon again....

considering how Duel Destiny went as an exotic mission (expecting players to grind 300+ runs to get all copies) and then they had the cheek to give flakes from this mission as "1" drops is proof they have ZERO intention, they thought stuff like this would drive players to linger longer in game to (grind) and just like with onslaught salvation I aint spending hours just to get F'd by bungie in drops or dupes. Unless they change something fast, ide rather spend my time in PoE2 and actually bask in the goodness of that game and its buildcrafting/theorycrafting (something bungie imo need big time) They imo spend far to much resources on raids when so few players actually engage with and look at GoS raid lmao, got red borders and LFGs are a ghost town on this raid. As it stands D2 imo its just a shell of what it claims to be (MMO) has non of the systems an MMO would usually have, the content it does have (raids and dungeons) are just trash, the loot has no meaning (thanks to crafting powercreeping everything) that basically undid sunsetting imo (and I hated sunsetting)

Asking for D3 is definitely a waste now. I'm fine with just D2 because are any the veterans that want a D3 going to stick around for three plus years for it to release? D3 would be nothing more than a hype thing if we don't get a better onboarding for new players. What if its just more D2 that most of the current players are unhappy with?
