Destiny 2 OOB: Defiant Battleground: EDZ

Sometimes Battlegrounds CAN make for good exploring :D
Often times, they're coated with turnbacks and joining allies and whatnot. They really seem to lock them down... But this time, we've got a nice sequence break that puts a stop to all of that nonsense, so we're free to explore. Throw in a funnel and a tunnel, and it's a good time for all.

You'll need a fireteam or some means to prevent matchmaking so you don't annoy blueberries, because unfortunately this only exists within the Battleground version of EDZ. Technically doable on any character with grapple flying, but non Titans will probable have a bad time.

everytime I attempt this there is always solid terrain in the way of the fall

There's lots of solid walls that you can't see from one side down there. You're likely on the wrong end of one of em. I do jump around one in the video while walking on the water.

Any potential to blocking initial spawns in strikes and/or dungeons? Or would the game just simply wait til the area was available?

Fallbacks generally work. There's specific places they don't. I think the fallback in this battleground also skips into the ascendant area. It's less fun though ;)

Yeah, the fallback for winding cove places you in the hallway before the midboss

I assume due to joining allies and turn backs you aren’t able to load in the other zones from patrol?

No, they simply don't exist. Although I imagine getting to the loadzones would also be challenging... Most of the battlegrounds exist in an entirely separate version of the map with all their modifications and whatnot. Sometimes you can manage to reach where a loadzone would be. I don't think it's a disabled load sort of situation, but I've not tried too hard to test that.

Yeah. You'd either need to do the infinite sparrow fly method, or do the whole thing after the syncbox with grapple flying.

@@user-zf4zz3mm6z I use grapple flying in many vids, and have a few guides on it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZXUZYOkgM1rrbs Console might want to have some load outs set up to make swapping easier? Dunno how menu time will come into it, especially on Hunter. For infinite sparrow flying, I'm not good at that. I'm sure you can find various guides online, or reach out to the 4dash folks on discord. They do a lot of fancy sparrow flying.

They did modify it a bit since then to get rid of some boss cheeses, so getting into boss room might require a syncbox or something now.

As a hunter that has done a grapple flight through that tunnel before, although going the opposite direction, I can confirm that it is not a fun flight
