Destiny 2 OOB: The Cosmic Observatory

Riven's Domain is huge, so here's the first set of exploration for the section I found most exciting. Cosmic/Observatory. Naturally there are some location spoilers.
Riven's Domain is separated into 3 load zones. They are Cosmic(Observatory), Gardens(Sensorium), and Monastery(First Steps). Each can be loaded from either of the others, which is quite peculiar. I imagine that comes into play in Coil, but I haven't gotten around to that yet XD
Thanks to Elite, Eater of Crayons for exploring with me. Gerbsnail mentioned a way to get into the Watchtower like room up above. Several people messaged be about this location on day 1, but I was avoiding spoilers so I could figure out my way around the domain on my own. This is really cool. I imagine working on an area with a lot of different locations could get confusing with that size of a team so stuff like text to showcase which area was which wad probably essential. Really interesting to see it (probably accidentally) make its way into the live game.

It's all out of map, so no real reason to remove it other than the trivial amount of space it takes up. I'd imagined it's culled out most of the time.

I can’t wait for next year’s DLC, in which Froggy will have his own temple floating outside each map that contains switches so he can do things like enabling/disabling load zones and enable automatically spawning outside the map for anyone in his instance! 😂

The watchtower room at the end is VERY reminiscent of the Dul Incaru boss fight at the end of shattered throne except a complete room instead of it being... shattered

Ah, the classic reused assets! A bunch of ascendant realm areas from the weekly DC challenges from back in Forsaken, except in full colour now! I have a feeling that 'table' chamber with the stained glass windows made of lies could be the Dul Incaru boss room from the dungeon.

The plate that you were standing on at the end looks exactly like the ones used in the activity and in Shattered Throne in order to cleanse yourself of the buff.

Was neat to see how some of the rooms were used when I finally did a coil XD I've broken into most of the Gardens rooms, but the Monastery ones are mostly pretty hard, other than the boss room.

i oob back in like beyond light and if your going to where one of the ascendant planes are somewhere in that room when you oob you could see all of the shattered thrown you could see where rivens pole is where she is sitting on but riven isn’t there

It was found a long long time ago. It's just that the reused room doesn't cover it up. The only people I've seen mention it are people that didn't realize it was the old wish you see when opening all chests.

Dunno specifics there yet, but I think that's which area you go to. For the playlist I've generally ended up on the Monastery route, and for that I currently only know how to get out of map in the boss room. If you don't open chest, you don't get mission complete. Power is capped at 5, so you're fine against enemies with low light. It's a confluence copy, so some of the flat-ish regions of ceiling are intangible.

hey, i just recently became aware of the fact that at the end of the riven's lair the rocks on the ceiling of the chest room are not solid, maybe this is true with some of the other rooms? maybe theres something to check out there or not.

That's because it's one of the confluence rooms. You can go out of map there instead of getting chest if you want to sparrow fly in Gardens.

Nadir requires rapid swings to activate it's perk. That's basically the opposite of good sword flying. You can also get an eager swing every time if you give two brief jump pulses.

(is the reason Joxer died simply because of the plate of the great hunt lore? or did he lack paracausal energy?) Mara and Crow share a bond like no other. Ager and Rega. When the Storm came, Rega and Ager rode the winds to meet it, a fleet of talons at their back. A great battle ensued. The Storm took, as was its nature. Many fell, Ager among them. Rega could only watch as he tumbled down, down, down... until her heart beat alone. She dove into the Storm, giving herself to destroy it. Rega's spirit ascended higher into the sky... where she hoped to reunite with her brother. Instead, she met the thing that sent the Storm. A bottomless well of grief. Unreachable by reasoning or bargaining... or violence. A voice in the darkness. And so... Rega gathered her feathers into an aegis of wings... to shield the world below. But over the years feathers broke away. Futility wore thin her resolve. Then, one day, her heart began to beat as it once had... doubled, distant... but different. A beautiful echo. Hope called her home. And though she prayed to find Ager there... he never returned. IF, and that's a big IF... Riven and Savathun helped us form enough paracausal energy through the ley lines to send one of them to the other side?? Awoken come from light and dark, and light and dark were both required to enter... is it that simple? (i have so many questions) Would Rega still hear Ager's voice? Or would Ager fall down, down, down...until only her heart beat alone once more...

the oracle engine is only there as a setpiece to one of the boss rooms that's above it, specifically the scorn one where you poison yourself to damage it. we wont be going into that room.

The oracle offering is not bugged (at least on my end), you get to go inside this week and the chest gives updated perk pool weapons.

It's bugged for me. The bounty awarded me an Offering to the Oracle, but the Engine won't accept it. Restarting, reloading does nothing.

The exotic mission is known to be in a vex location. I won't spoil anything beyond that as Im sure there are people who dont want to know it all but the cutscene and location was leaked.
