Can someone tell me how long til someone gets a class item from the chest once in farm mode? I’ve been circling around the landing for about 15 mins and even unlocked overthrow 3 with zero class item. Otherwise, I’d rather play dual destiny again and again. 😊

So far the chest gave me slightly more exotics than doing the mission in more or less the same time, end up being more of a matter of taste, u rather a possible easy way to monotonously get it or a challenging and social way guarantee it. But in the end after like 8 hours in total with both methods combined I got 9 exotics(2 usable, 1 good, 6 that shall not be named) so I can hardly call any of it an actual farm. I'm copiously waiting for a Speedrun method on the new mission hopefully like on presage skip, but most likely we won't get it

I did large scale testing. 2000 chests. The average is about 50-60 chests per exotic class item. Takes about 30+ min for 1. Yes you can get them from overthrow chests. There seem to be some kind of background counter, the more you open the higher the percentage goes to get one.

I can confirm that you can get them from one of the overthrow encounter chests (the little fights leading up to the big one) and the challenge chests. (The grenade, brambles and pillars of light) Never got one out a plain regular chest though lol.

If you really did get 2-3pcs for just around 20-25mins, then either your luck or math is way above beyond anything. The best i've got is average 50+ chest for one (from random chest + overthrow chest).

Just need to optimize your routes. Personally I make 2 or 3 loops on a skimmer them switch to the blooming then switch back to the landing.

i got 3 in 1hr and earlier in 4 hours grind i got 8 of the hunter cloak. is a grind is very boring but just put some music and enjoy the engrams you get . you get 2 types the banshee one and the pale heart ghost.

No, you have to beat the raid on each respective character before their exotic drops from chests

I use basically the same route except I do not use a sparrow, I prefer to run on foot so the chests have a higher chance to respawn. Also found that going towards the planet resource sometimes reveals chest locations too.

I farmed for hours earlier and it seems to be around 50-60 chests per class item and doing overthrow didn’t speed this up. If you want them the fastest just get world chests and they have a cool down on them too so good luck do it when you’re bored

Guys as cool as it is to farm it in Pale heart, if you know you arent the type of person to have good RNG. DO NOT farm it in the Pale Heart, you better off running the mission itself to save you time especially if you are a person with a job and dont have alot of time to spend on the game. Its boring and you're going to waste alot of time. I have gotten 1 in the passed 2 hours and its just not worth it.

They are unlocked per character. So you need to do the mission on all three characters separately if you want each of them.

I’ve just completely lost my desire to play Destiny the last couple weeks. The campaign was just too laden with gimmicks and a toxic last mission for a solo player and now the exotic item mission is not possible solo. Just don’t have time or desire. Can’t hear over headsets and LFG is just bad anyway.

They only care when they are losing and as long as Content Creators support their anti-solo player mentality and keep saying "use fireteam finder and LFG" like we haven't tried hundreds of times and for me since d1, thousands of LFG. No more. They are 9/10 times toxic and full of egos.. Plus I can't even get fireteam finder to match me with anyone. Just says "party full".. It is a joke of a system. This mission being impossible solo is a huge fail from Bungie. They exclude players and try to come off as woke and inclusive.. So sick of it..

@@WormChi312 But you didn’t do the class item mission solo. It wasn’t that the campaign was terribly difficult solo, it’s just more about the direction they are heading more and more. Everything is becoming more raid-like and needing other players. I also feel like all the gimmicks are in a way there to artificially lengthen the content. I do feel like the campaign missions need to be divided out more. I just rarely have time to get stuck in an hour-long mission. It took me a few times to do the last mission encounter against the witness. After try 3, I took a break for a few minutes to go to bathroom. When I came back I had been kicked to orbit. It sucks to have to do that whole thing again. It’s tedious. I work all day in a difficult job and gaming is relaxing to me. I know it’s a dirty word, but I do like being able to play Destiny casually with people in activities that I don’t have to communicate with even though we are helping each other out. Makes me just not want to do it, but you can’t even unlock some of the main things and vendors until you do. I’ve never really minded that raids were giving some weapons and mods that I would never get. Other weapons were comparable elsewhere, but now they are tying main content with activities that require more people. It is what it is, but it will just push some of the players towards other games. It’s not the only game I play. It’s just the only one I play that tries to force everybody to play the way they want you to (and not solo). It’s just kinda always been weird how Destiny Bungie folks always lean towards fireteams. It’s like it’s part of their Employee Manual or something. Give options. Heck, I’ll even buy the dang class items; just give me the option to do it a different way if I choose. Prismatic kinda sucks without the class items. I’ll likely just main one of the other subclasses anyway now.
