Don't you wonder if the people that comprise the Witness aren't themselves suffering from an inability to affect the decisions made by the Witness? Every time they tried to communicate. To let us in. To show us how to wield power. It was hands reaching from an abyss to the light. That is why the Witness is frustrated, if not infatuated, with the Traveller and the Light; they want to BECOME it - not so simply destroy it - and thus shape a new existence. Sadly, their methods are, like the Sol Divisive and the Black Heart, imperfect. Maligned, not out of malice, but because they aren't being listened to by the Witness. The Witness can't hear them - rather, can't understand them. They are as much in the dark as the people within them are. That's just my thoughts, they might not be precise, but that's the impression I got from Witness.

The witness believes that all suffering is caused by existence in general. It doesn’t really care if it inflicts suffering because if it doesn’t, life will. Also, there's some lore that suggests that the witness only inflicts prolonged suffering on species who've been blessed by the light.

It truly epitomizes both our paracausal capabilities to warp reality with strength and belief, while also demonstrating a poetic irony with the title. "Destiny" implies a predetermined future, but the nature of guardians is that we make our own future, and we forge our own destiny through our powers and our sheer will upon the universe.

One thing that definitely comes across in this video isn't just that these are developers who care deeply about their work and are confronting the end of a decade-long project, but are confronting that with the knowledge that they've lost so many of their coworkers over the last year and are expected to deliver greatness, backs against the wall, without many of their friends. Into the Light and the post-delay Final Shape updates have been amazing, I hope this release is everything the team (current and ex) aspires it to be.

To have been working on this series for a decade, and to still be pulling great work together while so many things have continued to change (talent, other new games, player friction etc) is testament to my belief that Destiny is bigger than a single game....its been a great journey, with ups and downs, and one that I hope to continue playing for another 10 years at least. My hat is tipped to Bungie, and everyone who has been involved in, and continues to be involved in, the creation and longevity of this saga. Roll on The Final Shape....and whatever comes next! As a vet player who wants to wrap up the 10yrs. There were so many small details in cuts in this Vidoc that made me FEEL this universe again. (My predictions): our guardian gets a noble six send off, some characters in our classic roaster die (Arcite will sacrifice himself for Shaxx) we will defeat the witness but the result ends with some cosmic shift that results in a new “type” of Guardian with unlimited resonance to light and dark (heavier prismatic build crafting) priming the set up for your new D3 guardian And honestly I’m here for all of that

Lightfall had all the hype in the world going into the expansion following the greatness of witch queen, stellar marketing, and a final cutscene that was a callback to the original image. It's easy to say that the situations are once again mirrored with high expectations, amazing marketing, and a great cutscene in crow vs cayde. This feels different though. I really feel like bungie is about to deliver a magnum opus, and if they don't then oh well.

​​@@THUNDERBOLT-IINot season's anymore, Episodes like mini expansions. First one is to do with the Vex, i think the 3rd is hive but the second one is either Cabal or Eliksni. Also The Witness is the raid boss. Episodes are an insight into what happens after the Witnesses death
