Calus didn't betray a damn thing, it was Ghaul together with the consul and Caiathl who stole the empire from him. Because they were nostalgic for the lead age of the Cabal.

@@lelouchjoestar1008 Calus is a sociopath because he doesn't give a crap about anyone but himself and his own opulence. Him becoming a Disciple to the Witness only proves it. Caiatl on the other hand is the better leader of the Cabal because she actually knows the stakes, knows how beneficial we can be as allies and not enemies, and doesn't share her father's opulent lifestyle.

@@rowplatts Calus, came into contact with the witness only after his exile ( It was not of his will). As we are told by his stupendous lore. The sword (Exchange of glances). Calus in exile is filled with remorse even for his people, had now been adrift, in space for over 50 years. After endless sailing, the leviathan found the dark edge. After that discovery he changed drastically. Thus if Calus had not been betrayed he is deposed, or directly killed by Ghaul. "The Witness would find another Cabal likely to recruit into his ranks. I just think of Ghaul as a disciple. Cabal."

Bungie really just goes so hard with these raid boss themes. Atheons theme, Last stand, Eyes up, Keep of voices, sanctified mind, Look within, First Disciple, and this. They’re all bangers

Ok everything else is very true but Atheon has Vex tones and the Guardian motif for an OST, nothing from VOG comes even close to any other raid tracks.

I love how the music team went THIS hard on the theme for a _raid lair_ boss in a _minor expansion_ I mean this sounds like music for the final boss of Destiny or something, especially with the Guardian leitmotifs thrown in

3:27 I will never forget the first time I beat Val Ca'uor. The rush to get all the balls and throw them to him and especially when Calus shouted "Let him die!" at around 3:38 were one the most epic moments I experienced in a raid
