One of the most important pieces of advice you can take from Destiny (and it was something he mentioned towards the back half of this video) is to be honest and, most importantly, just be cordial. The biggest shift I've seen in Destiny over the last couple years is his overall demeanor during a debate or talk. This is where the younger demographic on the left loses a lot of people in the middle. You can travel around the southeastern part of the country in the most conservative states in the U.S. and 99% of the people you interact with are going to be nice, respectful, and friendly. The Elitist, Enlightened mindset across the left is probably the biggest turnoff to someone in the middle or on the right, and it's a huge reason why we have Donald Trump.
@cameron25387 ай бұрын
Well said.
@barkley82857 ай бұрын
my high school was private and very liberal. All the conservative people in my class were the nicest people, didnt care about your politics. the liberals would no joke try to get you expelled and cancel you for saying anything against their political idealogy. I dont care what anyone says, left people in general are assholes and rude compared to right people. Coming from a 21 year old whos known lots of people on both sides.
@rdalge7 ай бұрын
Yeah…I wonder if that is part of the reason why republicans or conservatives can’t do well in the larger metro areas. People just don’t trust them, because they are so polished and polite on the surface, they seem disingenuous and distant.

I had watched the movie midnight premiere and disliked it. I sat through the fucking movie again and still hated it. So I wrote about that. BUT! I recognized that the movie was a box office hit. I gave props to all the CGI team. Yes they made a good movie (hence the huge MCU) but I personally didn’t fucking like it. And my stupid ass teacher (don’t even have respect to call her professor) just couldn’t understand why I kept saying it was such a good movie but that I didn’t like it…

What about lobbying done by the prisons and the prison complex? Not trying to play a gotcha card or anything like that but genuinely curious as seeing that they are business and I would imagine would also partake in lobbying. I am also curious as to what that would take the form of? Stances that would help keep their populations up? I’ve always heard China owns a lot of the privatized prisons nowadays. So multifaceted curiosity I guess. Wondering if lobbying in this area takes place and if so how would that end up manifesting.
@lord66177 ай бұрын
Most prisons are state funded and regulated based on state laws. There probably is lobbying and bribery taking place, but at the *state* level, and way less $$ involved than national and federal level politics suggest. If you want to change how prisons are run, change your state legislature. You constantly hear people say "I live in california so my vote doesn't matter" and they don't pay attention or respond to their local candidates who might actually change the prison laws and conditions, for example.
