the thing the irks the most about destiny is that he will not hold democrat politcians to this same level of scrutiny. whether it was joe biden or kamala harrris. destiny anaylsis of vivek and his fault are not a one off in US politics and government. If anything this is the norm among all three branches of government, on both side of the parties. Every politician is playing this "game". Like in this video where destiny deep dives into a video clip of vivek on the DOE. Whether intentional that vivek omitted facts or unintentional because he didnt know all the facts. these types of mistakes or intentional omission is daily politics. not every politcian will know everything at the EXACT fookin moment. and nor will a politician play against their own "win conditon" to push THEIR AGENDA. You can do the same thing with biden, kamala, jen psaki, etc. i can dissect a video clip of them saying something that is clearly not possible or reasonable among how the GOVERNMENT SHOULD work. but in reality, the government doesnt operate on theory, it operates on: action, lobbying, fundraiser, etc. Even destiny is prone to the same pitfall and blindspots as vivek. the difference is that unlike vivek that has to provide some sort of solution and running for office; destiny has the luxury of being a critic that doesnt need to provide a solution, the luxury of able to have all the time in the world rather than on the spot to come up with an argument and to dissect an argument. He is comparing a clip of vivek from a year ago, and the this destiny video using the clip as a circumstantial way to justify that yeh "vivek is a psychopath". Which in my opinion is also just as disnegneous as vivek maybe intentionally omitting facts. anyone can do the same thing to vivek as to destiny. there is more than unhinged "psychopath" takes of destiny unintentionally omitted facts cuz he cant know everything or intentionally omitted facts because it would weaken his argument which of course you would do in any debate or podcast to "validate" what ur saying. anyone can rewind destiny clips and comes to the conclusion that destiny is a "coked out psychopath". at the end of the day, i think its ironic that destiny is somehow the centrist middle everyday american when destiny and vivek are more closer to each other as high functioning psychopath than they are of the average chattter/american normie. all of you watching destiny should be looking at destiny as one avenue of resource rather than some sort of all around arbiter of information. destiny has just as many faults and flaws as everyone on this political commentary space.

Vivek's argument doesn't even make sense. Yes you need to form groups to solve problems, but you can't just then walk away the second the problem is solved, and on top of that now that x problem is solved we can focus on y, and w, z so on. When we get rid of oversight, and enforcement things go back to how they were because it's cheaper, and people don't do things out of the kindness of their hearts. He says well we actually spend more on poor kids, and they have worse outcomes, but Vivek doesn't want to get into all the reasons why that would be the case. The question at hand is how the poor kid doing now relative to how the poor kid would have done in the past. His task force makes no sense in the form of doing things, even for companies. You want skilled people in a trade doing that work consistently. one of the biggest problems for education is that teachers are paid so little, so who even wants to get into it, or can get into it. What does Vivek think is going to happen in his world people who are highly skilled in specific issues are going to rally together for 6 months to solve a problem then what go back to whatever until they are needed again? Even if you grant his company thing, what a company invents a cure for something, or a cool medical gadget, and what they should now disappear, and what make their stuff open source? Vivek just is start up pilled, his thought is you make a company, do a thing, then sell it to some other company, he has no concept of actually building any long term product, or service to do stuff. He just thinks oh I spin up a company, and 6 months to a year later sell it off, and look how successful I am. This doesn't work in reality for anything other than just making someone rich in the short term. A task force should be spun up in an institution to address a specific issue, and then build out protocols, and systems to address it going forward. The institution should be the one making sure that your food continues to be safe to eat. The fda should make a task force on say how do we stop woodchips from being put into bread, then the FDA makes sure that woodchips are no longer in food. Just getting it out then walking away means that it will go back in eventually. And then on the law stuff, he is saying come on now a good faith interpretation wouldn't hammer Archery, but guess what it's the republicans, it's guys like Vivek that have shit all over the idea of good faith when they twist and contort every law to their benefit despite externalities. So now we have to be very specific and follow the law to the best of our literal interpretation, because guys like Vivek want it both ways.

Under the Chevron doctrine, the DoE would not have been allowed to fund the archery stuff. Chevron deference to interpretation ONLY existed when there is an ambiguity in the law which the executive needed to interpret in the first place(and then it needs to be a plausible interpretation). In this law, there is no ambiguity, the term was defined well enough to have a specific list of things including archery. In fact, the fact that this provision was included may imply that it's not useless/nonsense and so would be interpreted to apply to things that actually happen in schools. Do any public schools in the US teach people how to murder using military grade weapons? No. So the restriction may be interpreted as explicitly targeting archery/hunting.

I guess unless you were in the red by an even greater fortune and couldn't continue. But otherwise why would you give up the profit motive, if you/ the board didn't want to continue with other treatments you would just sell the company to someone else who would.

He doesn’t have any understanding on how the government works and he initially bases it on what perceived information he passively consumes. If he initially understood what he was told already then he wouldn’t have that position probably. There’s also another part of a initial belief that the government agencies, its actors and employees are “against/at war” with the “constitution”, “freedom and self sufficiency”, “informed citizens who have the same perceived “idealization” with 1776- pre 1900s America”, and to “control and suppress any right wing, nationalistic, patriotic, “””””family values””””” etc”. That’s why every time destiny went further into the explanation and digging he doesn’t understand what’s going on and kept trying to pin it on the “enemy within trying to stifle American freedoms” until destiny told him that it’s the law and the executive part had to enforce it and it’s not like they can just flat out ignore it. If destiny started out with telling him how that part of the government works and what is voted on and then worked its way down to show him that’s how things run, the initial perceiving he has would immediately be measured against his preconceived notions and if questioned, he wouldn’t be able to back them up and either be forced to concede that yes, the government isn’t trying to stomp its foot on me they’re just doing what was passed in congress and acting upon it. The problem is that everyone on the righ wants to 2nd amendment the government and restore it to pre 1900s and they view it as a hijacked government that’s at war with the “patriots”.

Suddenly the "Do your own research" warriors are angry when Destiny does research on what Vivek is saying.

It’s a lot easier to ignore the facts. When you can’t, it’s easier to call them a psychopath than assume their bad faith. It’s such a bummer that you can see in real time that either he has to admit that the views being expressed are scare tactics based on lies or assume their bad faith politician is too stupid or literally crazy. Wild.

Bringing up gay conversion therapy was a good comparison, but I will add that I personally believe most of those "success" stories are just people shamed into hiding or choosing to ignore their true selves. Near every friend or classmate I had that was obviously gay/lesbian and was from a deeply religious family either stayed single to this day or started a family, had kids ,then later divorced when they got caught cheating with the same sex. 😂Except for one guy that funnily enough his wife was secretly into, and now she goes with him for meet ups.

I haven't seen a lot of Destiny content, but I'd love to see him break down speeches by all sorts of politicians (like the Vivek one in this video).

I'm so tired of people debating Destiny, and when Destiny makes a strong point, they f'ing run back into their hidey-hole with these "well, I don't know about that, I didn't really look into that" nonsense. You know that they'd never admit that, as a result of bad faith, to other people. One of Destiny's greatest tactics is to get people to admit just how ignorant they really are.
