Here's how the armor situation should have been: New vendor armor with max 30 light (so everyone can hit 30 and play crota's end). VoG armor should be 33 light. So those who actually went through the trouble of spending all that time getting every piece of raid gear wouldn't have been shit on as soon as the dlc released. Also, those who replay the VoG will get new weapons with 331 DAMAGE. I can't believe they thought the opposite would be a good idea. Like I love you Bungie, but what. the. fuck.

Felipe Thiago I completely agree. If the exotic bounties, nightfalls, even crucible now yield the new, upgraded exotics, so should VoG. What they did is make the VoG utterly useless.

It is broken. Getting 2 radiant shards and 3 energies from crota and that's it is ridiculous. Getting 5 strange coins, 7 ascendant shards and a vanguard scout rifle from nightfall is embarrassing. I'm a lvl 32. Does it look like I need ascendant shards? No.

Have you considered RNG? Yes every loot based game needs randomness but this is ridiculous. I know someone who has 11 Mythoclasts and I have yet to get one.

Well, using the internet disconnect method to beat Crota really is cheating (What else would you call it? Working as intended? Creatively using game mechanics?). You really are literally breaking the game, far outside using anything present in the game, to cause events that should happen normally to glitch out and not occur. It's true that the loot system is rather unrewarding and tends to promote this type of activity, I myself have done this glitch once, but that doesn't change what it is.

He separated the difference between cheesing and cheating in the video. Making The Templar and Atheon fall off the map? Cheesing. The Lamp explosion exploit? Cheesing. Disconnecting from the game during the Crota fight to ensure he stays kneeling for the rest of the fight? Legitimately cheating. Personally, I don't/didn't have a real problem with the others (Cheesing), though I did enjoy when they finally patched The Templar, since it meant people actually had to find a legitimate way to do the fight, and there were people that didn't actually know how to do the fight because they were always in groups that cheesed the fight. The Crota "cheese" I don't like for the simple fact that it does not involve the exploitation of actual in-game mechanics and is simply just breaking the game.

I agree with most of the things you said. But, by your own standards, you should not do the Nightfall (Sekrion, for example), standing on the top and fighting only the boss and the minotaur. After all, "it is not the way it was intended to be fought", no matter bungie did not put a door there. You just should not use it. But breaking the network to beat Crota is kinda different, I agree.

Datto wants more cutscenes, i want skippable cutscenes. I completely agree with you on being able to solo the raid, that shouldn't be possible just like VOG just where it's impossible to go through the entire raid with just a fireteam of three without a warlock. and i personally haven't being able to do the raid with people who doesn't want to cheese their way through it and it is very sad, even in the forums everyone just wants to cheese and glitch their way through the raid.

The Dark Below was satisfying at first, with the flow of new story and gear, but I feel as well that this DLC was just a "content update" as you said. I answered BelleBunny's question through Twitter that I wanted to see cutscenes in the raid. The gear from the Vault was amazing and I still haven't completed my collection, but now I'm just grinding for the Crota's End weapons and gear. The fact that the Vault weaponry and the Vault armor is practically obsolete in some cases gives me a sense of loss because I won't want to grind for those weapons anymore, therefore greying out a part of the game that used to be so attractive to me. I want to see a true "Expansion" with the House of Wolves, and I know that almost everyone wants their investment respected. Great overview. I agree with you 100%. He is very right. In my view I think that whenever Bungie has finished their next game or expansion they should go to him to test it. He knows exactly what the community wants and what they wouldn't like. If the next expansion does not improve in how much content it brings, well I don't how anyone would continue to support this game if the devs make the same mistakes over and over

About the Undying Mind strike: I personally love it. It is very intense, and it is probably the only strike I feel like I am always struggling for survival. Also, people made fun of the three shields, but it is actually a pretty cool mechanic. It adds an urgency to get your shots in while you have a line of sight on boss, and it also makes it less so where you fond yourself simply waiting around for the shield to go by.

Very well put. Small things could give the game more charm. For example, how about interactive load screens? Move your ships around. I was , and still am, a little heated about the faction weapon situation. I had a respectable collection from all 3 crucible factions and a complete vanguard set that was made obsolete overnight. But if youre so lucky to have your engram grant a faction weapon now, its an upgraded version of what they already offer. If Xur can offer exotic upgrades, why cant each faction offer an upgrade of the weapons they endorse, and why cant you buy some of these in the first place?

I liked the story missions too. People can complain, but they can't say it's not an improvement. The Cauldron is my favorite map right now, mainly because the 1 match I've played on it netted me either my 2nd or 3rd reign of terror, 1st was in the alpha, don't remember if I got one in the beta. But 8.67 k/d! Also, the Undying mind strike was probably cut content because it follows up right after The Black Garden Mission, so a strike unlocked by finishing the mission would make sense.

Datto, I'd like to hear what you think about the non-loot Deathsinger part of the raid. Pretty sure you know that almost everyone is and will skip this part to the next CP (Crota) because there is - even though it is pretty easy - no reason to do it in the first place seeing that there is no reward for completing it. What do you think? Should bungie patch in another loot drop? Should they just leave it the way it is and watch how people keep skipping this part?

Alright, let me get this clear is usually cheese crota's end. I dont have a dedicated group to raid with even though id much like to and the randoms just dont cut it for me in those first few weeks of the raid being out, but being a hardcore player as I am I want to get my hands on that hot and tasty CE loot. Only way to do it for me is to solo/cheese the raid. Im sure teams get better after time progress, but I simply dont have five hours in a row to do CE once let alone for both my characters.

I'm very conflicted with the new vanguard gear being level 31, because it made it easier for me to reach lvl 30 which is great, but it makes me mad because I only just started doing the Vault of Glass and now it's obsolete.

Despite the many mistakes bungie/activision have made, you still support and know that this game still has the potential to be even better, maybe the best, and that is so cool. The majority don't think Crota's End is easy. Especially the deathsinger part. Not everyone have the recommended weapons to do this (Vex Mythoclast, Gjallarhorn, Ice Breaker, Fatebringer etc) and it varies from player to player or group. To you it may be easy because you're a master at this Datto and you chose the right group to do this.

I feel like we need more Exotic weapons. I got the game a week after launch and took about a 1-2 month break from playing because of school and I have all but 2 exotics (besides the Play Station exclusives because I'm on Xbox). I shouldn't almost have all of them. I feel like we need weapon packs. These weapon packs would cost around $5.00 and you would get 10 exotics added to the game. You wouldn't be given these weapons, but you could get then from Nightfalls, Raids, etc. I think this would give Exotic collectors like me more motivation to play the game.

Mr Jalapeno What the **** are you on about, yes you have most of the exotics. I'm sure i've played destiny way more than you based on your timeframe and i don't have as much exotics as you. sure you have most of the exotics but you can only use two at anyone time and some of the exotic are beyond useless (Universal Remote). And paying real money for exotics and then hoping RNG is nice to you is just ridiculous, it's bad enough as it is, for example i've killed about 40 of the blades of crota guy and still haven't gotten Husk of the Pit and you get someone who kills them once and gets it and they don't even know the value of what they have. In short, paying for a chance to get a new exotic is a dumb idea and because you have most of the exotics doesn't make them any less special.

Very well said my friend. I don't quite understand why people complain about the gear reset (I know why but disagree). I was a big COD person up until COD Ghosts and one of the things my friends and I look forward to the most was prestiging your gun and character. You then had to grind away in PvP to level it back up but you were then able to put your emblem on your gun. Same with your character. I would love to have to re-level my defender titans skills and show that I spent the time and was able to do it. However Destiny cannot do this with the characters since the level cap is technically 20. Right now, if I made a new Titian all I'd have to do is get him to level 20 and then give my left over gear from my primary character and he'd go from a 20 to a 30 in 15 seconds. I like re-grinding my gear and hell, i would reset my Thorn again if I had gotten another perk out of it. If I just bought the upgrade and it would max out my gun, it would be like buying a use pre-colored coloring book. Either way, I hope someone at Bungie watches this video as it was done very very well. Keep it up my man! - Compound27

Hey, Datto I just have one issue with what you said about there being two heroic and weekly update if bungie were to do that there would still be complaints such as: People with the DLC would have two weekly strikes therefore giving them twice the chance to get better loot and such (excluding the fact they could possibly have a 4x multiplier for xp gains) just because they payed extra for the game. Also if they were to limit on and only allow of weekly nightfall to be played, one could make an argument that the people that bought the DLC are being robbed of extra content. All that being said i do agree with you that some sort of compromise should be done for that fact

I also do believe that the reasons for cheesing crota is that if your the sword bearer for example and you put in all the hard work and we'll timed swings to land the killing blow on crota and ONLY get 2 or 3 shards or even worse energy, I find that complete bull!

Allowing for each piece of gear to be added to and upgraded rather than replaced after each level. I thought they had said gear would level with us, but it truly doesn't feel that way. Grinding is only fun when the activity is fun to repeat. I had no problem sinking hours and hours into COD: zombies, or League of legends, or the like.... because it had enough variation within those game modes to keep it interesting. Repeating strikes, missions and patrols over and over again gets old quick.

Crota's raid could be harder by simply adding modifiers from the nightfall, except the burn modifier of course. Also adding elemental shields to enemies like the knights and wizards just like in the mission to kill Xyor would increase the difficulty automatically

1. With regard to the grind, more playable content is needed to make this aspect of the game an enjoyable experience. 2. This links into the notion of 'expansion'. I expected this to add considerable and lengthy content to the game (10 new story missions, 5 new strikes, 5 new PvP maps and so on). 3. There should be a way to upgrade the older legendary gear to the new light level. My old IB gear now seems worthless. 4. Instead of a reset for exotics, they should have increased the damage perks on the tree and made them 'hard to get'. This would have felt like progress rather than regress.

Datto, in order to keep old raid gear relevant and enable people to wear raid set stuff because they prefer the looks without having to implement a transmog option, Bungie could simply add another difficulty tier to VoG with modifiers, like you mentioned in your video. This new raid difficulty tier should reward you with all the non-Crota's End specific gear, all VoG gear and additionally with materials that only drop there. You can use the new materials to upgrade your existing VoG raid gear to match the current raid tear item level, similar to how you upgrade exotics in the expansion. This would keep the awesome existing as well as all upcoming raids still somewhat relevant, give players a "transmog" option for the incredibly well done old armor sets. Wouldn't take a lot of effort to implement and be a huge improvement to the game. People who acquired the old, fully upgraded raid set have an advantage since expansions wpuldn't render their gear obsolete all of a sudden and people who don't have it yet, but would love to get it/see the VoG would have an incentive to still clear the old raid. Win/win situation, especially since the content in Destiny is still lacking. What do you think?

Me and my raid group where doing crotas end and we almost lost because of enrage. Crota was down and the sword knight was dead, the person who was supposed to get the sword died so I ran in grabbed the sword and started damaging him when I see enraged and one final blow killed him, I thought we were done for.

My personal belief is that to keep the VOG and old raids relevant, they would have to have a harder difficulty to match with the new raid with each expansion, with the rewards being a higher level, but just under the meta for the new raid.

I'm of the same mind in that I want to support the game because I truly believe in its potential. I think Bungie, despite the issues with Destiny, is a good developer that does its best to keep all ears to the ground and take consumer feedback into consideration. I think they really do want to make a game that we love, and I have a lot of hope both for future expansions and the eventual sequels. Maybe by the time Destiny 2 rolls around they will have ironed out all the kinks, honed in on the essence that gives the world they've built so much potential, and expounded upon that to create something mind-blowing.

Totally agree with level 31 gear. It sucks to scrap my hard earned raid gear for 'vender' stuff. With the expansion being 1/3 rd the price of the game did we get a third more? Sorry, I don't think so.

My problem is something others haven't mentioned. In addition to all the other problems we now have too many currencies/materials. I went to buy the Runed Core from Eris but couldn't because I didn't have enough inventory space! We've got commendations, ascendant and radiant materials, planet materials (Spinmetal, etc.), exotic shards, weapon parts, and class specific armor upgrade materials. There's just too much! They couldn't put something in the mission section that NEVER gets used? They need to consolidate it somehow because there's definitely not enough space for it in the vault.

The game is incredibly small... you forgot to mention that the strike playlist was also screwed up moving the engrams to the Dark Below required playlist. Also the daily story is occasionally Dark Below required same with the daily crucible map. The expansion reused already present area's which doesn't count as any added content. So they basically just added a few mediocre quests and a Raid so easy and full of so many bugs it can be solo'd. People are angry about having to ditch their old equipment already because there is almost no content. In RPGs you can spend hundreds of hours before you hit the end grind. In MMOs like Guild Wars 2 you can discover new locations and new dungeons for a hundred hours before you even decide to grind for end game weapons. In Destiny even if you are taking you're time and trying to explore you will be done and at the grind in just a 6 or 7 hours of casual play. You will also have fully explored the entire game making any additional characters an immediate grind... The Dark Below added nothing and expanded nothing! All it did was create a slightly different grind after 6 to 7 hours of casual play when making a new character. It didn't add a single hour of gameplay it just immediately replaced the old raid.

Datto, I'm really glad that you are aware that Destiny is being marketed as an FPS, and not as an MMO or RPG. I love this game, but I really don't like the grind. I know that MMO players find it not grindy at all, but I bought Destiny because of the FPS aspect of it. So on and so on! If this is suppose to be an rpg with raids they then need to treat it as such. Similar to world of Warcraft when a new raid comes out the old doesn't become useless. It becomes a stepping stone to the next raid. As follows: Quests -> strikes/vendor -> VoG -> CE. You should not be able to go from vendor gear to CE. Vendor gear should cap at 29. VoG cap at 30. Random question but i've been thinking about it, if you have 3 characters and delete all of them but keep weapons and armour in the vault, then create a new character will you still keep the armour and weapons?

Why wouldn't you just make a new account before deleting all three (like delete 2, make a new one, then delete the third)? Then your vault will stay untouched without a doubt.

Ziho Kim your grimoire score is between all 3 characters you make. I have 3 characters and my grimoire score stays the same.

most of the grimoire is from story missions and if all they played was crucible they could have purchased crucible gear with all the marks.

I'm a somewhat newer sub and I love your videos. I think there is an issue that you didn't cover with the new radiant materials I think they're dumb and I think they need to be either removed or something needs to be done to make them more available

Nah, radiant stuff is fine. The only gear you need them for is the new raid stuff, and the only place the materials drop is in the new raid. Makes perfect sense.

They're scarcity was done intentionally, so that players don't hit level 32 quickly. There are level 32s in the game now, but they did a ridiculous amount of grinding to get there.

And on bungies behalf we will get more. Eventually... Especially if your a xbox player, like me next fall will be like a whole new extra dlc for me. I really dont mind the ps exclusives as a Xbox player. It supports there system which is cool.

They should have made a lvl 31 version of vog with better gear and lvl 31 armor (better gear = 331 weapons). However the way it is now VoG is completely useless if you have the dark below. Also eris morn bounties (class specific) should be set to have an order, for example any warlock bounty - any titan bounty - any hunter bounty and so on.

The problem I have with the new loot and reset of my exotics is that its just Bungie attempt to artificially prolong the game since in terms of content in this expansion there really isn't much other than the raid

Here are my possible solutions. I believe the worst problem with Destiny at the moment is the Light system. It just does not work. It makes no sense that I do 30% less damage, whatever my skill may be, just because I am one level below. The weapons are the same, yet they do considerable less damage. Make it so weapon upgrades are gated by level, for example. If a weapon has 290 damage and you would need level 30 to bump it up to 300, that would made sense. I played Final Fantasy 14 (online) for a long time, and yes, with worst gear you are at a disavantage, BUT you can still do the content. The fact that you don't have a best in slot does not mean you are doing 30% less damage and taking 30% more damage. The difference between players of diferent levels are just too polarizing in Destiny. It also makes it so gear is almost more important than skill. I highly dislike that. The Light system also completely destroys any player costumization, which is a big no-no in any MMOs. And about the Gear reset, I have a simple solution. It's too late to implement it, but if it was done at launch, I garantee that most people would be fine with. All exotic weapons drop with a maximum of 300 damage (like before the expansion). The only way to rank them up is to fully level them, and then you could upgrade them to a 331 variant. As for VoG weapons and gear, why not make it so an item drops from Crota that allows you to upgrade previous fully leveld raid gear on xur to 331 damage/36 light? That way, all the weapons I leveled to max would have a point. They need to be maxed to get the next step. The way it works not means can now get a better weapon from an engram than the one I spent hours leveling, which is just wrong. The problem here is that they invalidated all the work people put in the game. If you buy the game now and play for two weeks, you will be in the same position I'm in, having played the game for 3 months (with the exception of faction reputations that don't mean much). The solutions are out there, it's just that Bungie or Activision made the wrong ones.

As someone who has completed the raid on my 31/26/27 due to the "Host quitting the game" I have to hope to god that *THAT* gets fixed before HM launches. The real question is, how do we fix this? To explain how it works on XBO: In order to assure a perma-downed Crota you have to have *host*. Best way to claim host is to enter your Crota checkpoint alone and then invite others. They way people seem to do it is hitting the home button, waiting for the call via party chat that Crota's getting onto one knee. Thus exiting the game entirely, ending up with it working a majority of the time if done right. *The Reason this happens:* When the host leaves very bad game lag occurs where it tries to find a new host from who is left in the fireteam. Since the game doesn't do a checkpoint reset via loss of host *(Which should be some form of correcting this issue)* Crota is instead stuck and equals free loot. I only done Crota's end a few times 100% Legit. The sad thing is more than half the people you'll join in raids cheese the hell out of everything. Even the more trivial parts just so they're "done faster" when most things can be completed normally at even a faster pace. I'm starting to think most of these Raiding hardcore clans or just basic casual raiding groups should get to test most of this before launch for future raids so Bungie can see what to do about it. I'm also very disappointed with how many people would rather cheat in any shape or form than do things legitimately and the fact that Bungie has tried to fix it in many ways yet still coming up short.

The raid is just too easy. With my lvl 31 hunter I can solo my way all the way from the very beginning to the checkpoint before Crota in about 15-20 minutes. After that if you have a full experienced fireteam and everyone knows their role then Crota can be killed in about 15 minutes or less (legit). I like Destiny, but I don't see how they're supposed to patch that when the VoG isn't even fixed yet. More than likely they'll just half-ass it and fix this Crota "cheese/glitch" and just leave everything else.

They need to missions more like the Queen's Bounty had. It would make the game more interesting an rewarding since there would be other things to do other than just strikes and raid and PvP. I like Patrols but there is no replay value to me in the story missions except when they are daily heroics.
