Fun fact about this song: this is actually a fan made remix someone made when the game first released, Bungie actually used it in the game officially in the Rise of Iron DLC
@Shad0wReaper1332 жыл бұрын
I remember running the Sepiks Prime strike for the first time and being elated at the surprise that this cover was used officially for it.
@Shinransa2 жыл бұрын
And now it plays in Destiny 2's Devil's Lair Nightfall Strike, I am so happy it's back, only downside being you need to wait for it to end up in the Nightfall rotation. We need more metal remixes or just remixes to make it into the game for the more difficult versions of activities.
@Sweatopod982 жыл бұрын
Wow it make sense, when I first heard it I thought was cool but a bit unusual from Destiny's ost back then, and the mixing sounded a bit "homemade" to me
@Aj-py8en2 жыл бұрын
technically it's not the same cover, but bungie brought the guy in to record the official track

"someone" aka fucking misha mansoor, of fucking periphery
@jacobdean352 жыл бұрын
I think it's kind of funny that you mention that the mixing for the song sounded very professional. That might be because this song is a cover done by Misha Mansoor from the band Periphery. He was a pretty big fan of Destiny back when he made it, and Bungie added it to the game in the Rise of Iron DLC.
@MarioRodriguez-sf7ig2 жыл бұрын
this was composed by Misha Mansoor of Periphery as a fan made mix and Bungie was so blown by it that they put it in the game.

If you are getting in to Destiny, then I'd recommend from Destiny 1 the theme of Aksis, Archon Prime if you want more rock, and for some more epic music Regicide would be a good pick. From Destiny 2 there's many to pick from, but I think all of the Last Wish raid songs are really good (abomination, watchtower, Riven of a thousand voices, shell of what was). The expansion where the raid played a big role in was the thing that pretty much revived the whole franchise, so these might be a bit more personal to me but they do still slap, Watchtower being my favorite one in all of Destiny.

These two game have so many different styles in it's OST, the Garden of Salvation raid OST in D2 is something special but then you've got something completely different for D1's King's Fall or even The Leviathan raid and raid lairs, every expansion brings something completely different and every enemy faction has their own vibe to their theme songs. The Last Wish raid also has amazing tracks but really every raid in the franchise's history has amazing music, and that's without mentioning strikes or story missions that also have great music sometimes.

a lot of the destiny soundtrack is as you described, more orchestral/theatric-like, this one kinda stands out a bit so all that means is you gotta listen to some more from destiny! I feel like the quintessential one for Destiny 2 is Journey, again though it's pretty different from that guitar one I'm more partial to from D2 is Shell of What Was, which is more metal-guitary like this but still pretty different from D1 I gotta recommend The Last Array, kinda starts slow but really gets going and just sounds super good back to D2, there's two tracks I wanna recommend from the same activity but both very different feels: Deep Stone Lullaby and Look Within im sure more will be recommended but... the secret is, Destiny doesn't have a single bad track! i just feel like these have good showcasing ability

This song goes harder every time you listen to it. I'll never forget the day I played the Sepiks Perfected strike-- a nice run-through of the original strike, but a bit harder and with the Splicer Fallen's red all over it. But then, the boss fight-- the music kicks in and it's a badass remix of the original orchestral version, and I'm so fucking pumped. Running around, trying not to die, killing adds, and the DUN DUN DUN dun DUNNUHNUHNUH comes in... fuuuck

@terribletimes902 Жыл бұрын
You’re spot on about the game generally being quite orchestral. But they do experiment a lot. The original version of this song was orchestral, then they used this fan made rendition for Rise of Iron DLC because the soundtrack to that was very Metal
@corrosive36842 жыл бұрын
Just throwing this out there, though the question was probably answered already. Yes, the theme Sepiks Redux is boss music for a boss fight at the end of a PvE mission. The game also has raids and dungeons (6 player and 3 player more challenging PvE activities) with multiple bosses, some of which have amazing music. Many people have mentioned Deep Stone Lullaby from Destiny 2 already and I'd definitely recommend that one as well. From the same raid there's also Look Within, the final boss music. I'd recommend giving that one a try too when you have time. If I were to list all the stuff to check out from the game I'd be here writing this comment all day, so I think I'll leave it at that. Love the stuff you do here on the channel, keep being awesome man.

Misha Mansoor's done some other video game tracks as well such as; - "Breaking the Covenant" & "Follow in Flight" from Halo 2: Anniversary (replacing "Blow Me Away" & "Follow" by Breaking Benjamin & Incubus, respectively. But only on the modern graphics). - "For Mankind", the end credits music of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. As for other Destiny track recommendations? Let's see.... I'll do one for every 'year'/major expansion/DLC of the franchise, get a good mix of conventional & obscure. - "Guardian" - Destiny 1. - "Deathsinger Dirge" - Destiny: The Taken King. - "Siege Engine" - Destiny: Rise of Iron. - "Nessus" - Destiny 2. - "Tangled Shore" - Destiny 2: Forsaken. - "The Sanctified Mind" - Destiny 2: Shadowkeep. - "Resistance" - Destiny 2: Beyond Light. - "Lepidopterophobia" - Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.

Destiny 2 is my guilty pleasure game. Everytime I'm not in a good mood or feeling anxious, I hop in into Destiny and shoot some aliens in the face. Bungie's gunplay is legendary. Something about their space magic guns are so satisfying it's hard to explain. As for my favorite songs from the franchise, I would like to nominate: "Journey" ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5WafnSCoqufmpo ) live version, maybe good for some future reaction *wink wink* "Deep Stone Lullaby" ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3Ose3mKhbWjY5o ) this one will probably surprise a lot of people. It's such a masterpiece. As for the "Halo Clone", well, it was made by Bungie, the original developer behind Halo.

very interesting to see your reaction to a song from destiny. If you're curious I'd definitely recommend checking it out, especially since the base game for Destiny 2 is free to play, so you'll be able to get an idea of how the game plays. but a quick overview, is that it's an online FPS that utilized mmo style elements. so while you're playing the game and roaming around, you can regularly run into other players throughout the game. and when you play certain activities, it will team you up with other players for various missions, and activities. while I wouldn't really call it a halo clone, I'd more call it what halo may have looked like as an mmo. it contains "strike" missions, which are replayable missions in the game, as well as story missions, and the big draw activities being the raids, which are large missions, kind of what you'd find in an mmo, but designed for a 6 player team, though not as complex or long as something like a WoW raid, as it has to be designed to accommodate FPS gameplay. I think some of destiny's best music comes from the raids as well. the song you listened to is a song from one of the many boss fights in the game. the name Repiks Redux, is in relation to the boss. the boss is named Sepiks Perfected. it's a boss that was rebuilt from a previous boss named Sepiks Prime. so it's pretty much Sepiks 2.0 if you wanna look at it that way. in short, Sepiks Prime is the original boss, we destroy it, it get's rebuilt, and is now Sepiks Perfected. but finally, I'd say my personal favorite song would be the music for a raid boss name Atraks-1. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXe5mZd-qq1kj6s if you ever decide to give the game a shot, just let me know, I'll be glad to hop into a game with you :)

I found it weird that you didn't understand the title, but I guess I can understand. So, I actually have a story with Destiny. Fell in love with it at Launch, even got the Hawkmoon, Gjallarhorn and Vex Mythoclast in my first run of Vault of Glass which I was kicked right as Atheon died and the loot popped everywhere for not having any exotics. Dropped right at the end of base and into Crota's stuff which just... was not fun for me anymore. Revisited during the latter half of The Taken King and it had the same reason I fell in love with the game to boot. However no expansion or even D2 has ever captured half of why I love The Taken King. Even now, D2 strays even farther away from why. But Rise of Iron, despite being worse in most ways for me, I still very much agreed the music was sick for. And if you ask me, this is one of the MEDIOCRE tracks in Destiny 1, as someone who loves D1 to death. Rise of Iron still has a particular banger in the raid to surpass this. Speaking of, very metal name for that raid. Wrath of the Machine.
