you guys are mad at dan, but your reasonings are exactly why so many young people in society are undersocialized. i don't think you're even viewing him as a child if you think summer should just be spent relaxing and playing games, nor do i think you even know what those camp programs offer. consider the following: -Wakes up at whatever time and dad makes him clean his room and do routine; but they don't down for breakfast and have that comfortable space to get to know each other, and they do need to get to know each other because just having the labels"dad" and "son" do are not, have never been, and never will be suffiecient enough to have a strong bond to where the both of them are excited to just be in each others' presence the way a father and son ought to be. - Dad goes to work "10 hours a day streaming in the next room" and rather than being in the *house*, he spends all of his time in his bedroom. cannot understate how negative that is for healthy development, child or adult. he should want to enjoy being in the full living space, and enjoy stepping outside of it even if only for 10 minutes a day to talk a walk with steven. - Nothing wrong with spending those afternoon hours playing fnaf or whatever it is he enjoys, but if he does that for a full evening during the summer and his electronics are in the room... how do you expect him to sleep well. think abt that fully in the most honest ways possible because (assuing you're an adult or at least college-aged), there's no chance you aren't fully aware about the blue light thing and how spaces can blend innappropriately when your mind and body feel like the bedroom is a place for entertainment instead of personal time and rest. this *is* what steven is talking abt when he says discipline btw which for some reason it seems like a lot of ddg is surprisingly too immature to understand. you are absolutely doing your child a disservice by taking them out of an environment where basic and appropriate routines are set in place, and allowing those routines to be broken in your space. an extended bed time is more than fine for summer, but for the same reasons he has a morning routine, he *needs* to have a night time routine which should include more than just brushing your teeth. aka making sure you are sufficiently filled with whatever your supper was so you're not getting up in the middle of the night for snacks, putting your electronics away in a place where you won't be tempted to reach them in the middle of the night, and reading (which i would encourage them to do together) for at the bare minimum 15 minutes because that's how the fuck you develop your brain. take advtange of diffuse learning to make sure he's not taking a "break" from education during the summer and returns to school with a lower baseline than his peers who had proper routines. effective learning is continous. not to mention that we all know that just the act of reading before bed can literally make you sleepy, x100000000 times more effective for a child, yet you'd rather him have his brain being stimulated by horror games on roblox minutes before jumping into bed, and expect him to have a full night's sleep...? idk there's so much to say abt it that's kind of frustrating to even think abt cause i assumed dgg wouldn't be the type of community that struggles to understand this, but children are not adults and just should not be treated as adults. point blank. meet them where they are and be entirely concious that with every action or inaction you take, you are directly developing them into the people they'll be as adults. a kid who spent summers doing camp activies OUTSIDE WITH OTHER KIDS instead of just playing games and interacting with other kids virtually will fair infinitely better in spaces where they'll need to self-motivate themselves to do shit like oh i don't know, having a drive to seek extracurriculurs, take advtange of school programs, and have meaningful experiences and a genuine want to do outdoor volunteering? not as if any of those things will ever matter in a couple of years when he's in high school because obviously we shouldn't ever strive to raise our children to be top performers in their high schools. not as if that stuff will ever matter when it comes to the opportunities you will be presented by simply having a variety of accredited colleges to go to. not as if that stuff will ever matter when they're gaining their first work based experience as an intern in a corporate company where they will be competing against the dozens of other interns hoping to get rolled into full time employement from the company you work at. not as if when you start working full time that you will be expected to stand out by actively seeking responsiblility, networking effectively, and showing off your well-developed soft skills that will make you a worthy candidate for managerial positions. who gives a fuck about upwards mobility? not as you won't be expected to prove yourself at the higher standards associated with the higher expectations of your new title; which means doing things like taking courses or enrolling part time in school to demonstrate your uncapped potential and ambition to the company, along with a healthy personal curiosity about the world and long term goal of continous education. not as if any of those things will set nathan up to be a person compotent, capable, and confident enough to strive to make a man of himself in a world where his father already casts a huge shadow. why should a rich and famous person's kid ever want to forge their own path, obviously they'll be just as meaningful members of society if they coast on their laurels behind their father, living with no purpose other than to be "successful" through nepotism without any achievements that will give them a positive outlook on life so that they will further pour back into the world that made them. give a fuck abt any of that though, i'm sure a kid like nathan totally won't develop any sort of complex relating to the type of man he is in comparison to the legacy of his father. especially given the looooong time of 10 whole years before he's 23, or 5 years for those who'd kick your 18 year old "adults" out the house. his future is so far away that obviously something as insignifcant as the way he spends the only (to my knowledge) time he has to live with his father in those core developmental years that he'd need his father the most to avoid the common pitfalls many teenagers with lazy parents experience during those those far away 2 years of 15 onwards. if anything steven is the retarded one for caring at all about being intentional about the way he spends time with his teenage boy, and he's even more retarded for asking a friend of his who actively parents his teenage boys for more than one month in a year (no diss), and in case i forgot to mention- dan is the retarded one for suggesting summer camp cause all we (dgg) know abt summer is from but i'm a cheerleader and friday the 13th (never went outside and too clueless to even fathom the amazing opportunities they missed out on life), in miami beach fucking florida where my more than affluent father can put me in spaces where i experience things that "normal people" (dggers) don't even fucking know exist because they think the type of summer camps dan suggested are akin to what they didn't even bother to experience in their lower middle class communities (too terminally online to ever have any substantive value to add to the topic of raising your child for the single non-school month of the year where they're living with you).

Once you are at the point of spending 250k on a car you can choose anything and it will be a great driving experience. Also they will all be faster than a focus RS. The only issue is the manual point cause there’s not many newer cars that come manual. It’s disappointing but modern paddles are a whole new experience that I’ve found to be great.

Destiny get a GTR or BMW M340i Both of them are glued to the road, and are much faster than your Focus RS now. Both of them are AWD. You could get a BMW M4 Competition xDrive, BMW M5, or Audi RS5. All of these are AWD, fast af compared to a Focus RS, and much better. I'm actually a mechanic Destiny, I can help with this. Let me know

I suppose I've been pondering the ethics of indulging car culture, in the big climate change century. Like, I want a fun car, but I also want to pitch in my part on saving the planet. That said, we really do need better pedestrian planning and public transportation.

destiny should get a good motorcycle instead of car, there are so many cars everywhere, i think especially in the us motorcycles are pretty op right now, yea theres 2/3 person limit but you can zip through traffic supa fast and not many people have motorcycles compared to cars so its definitely more unique
@johnnyb14188 ай бұрын
Manuel transmissions are so fun but you’re always going to be slower than an auto especially in that price range. Destiny shouldn’t worry about 1/4 mile, 0-60 or any of that and just go test drive a handful of cars and see which one he likes. No Lotus or Aston M, for the love of god don’t get a Miata and don’t listen to Dan. Cayenne, gt3 rs, taycan

Dan is the absolute worst person to talk to about cars. This is the 3rd time I've heard him mention "manual swapped 458" like it's some common mod that's realistic for anyone to do. THERES ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD and EVERYTHING about it is custom. It's like he watched a KZbin video about that one car and now he thinks it's something that's easily repeatable for any shop to do 🤣 EZ bet would be a Corvette c8 zo6. ~150k new, 700hp, Chevy v8 reliability, hard top convertible, full warranty. The only thing is it's not a stick shift.

I wouldn’t necessarily take Dans advice about parenting if I where destiny. His situation is totally different than Dan’s and Dan sounds a little to strict and not trusting of his kids(not judging). I don’t think taking an adversarial approach towards your kid who visiting on vacation when you’re basically the interesting absentee parent is a good move. His mom got him this far and now that Nathans a teenager It’s time for Destiny to take the lead and develop him into a good man, which is kind of ironic him being a strong,independent woman and all.
