The looks and personality thing is so obvious. Looks get you in the door, personality let's you shut it behind you. The problem is that people think it's easy to have a "10/10" personality when it's just as achievable as having, I'd say an 8/10 in looks, you either have it or you don't and if you don't have it then you have to heavily fake it to the point of not even being yourself anymore. I'm considered physically attractive, I wouldn't say I have "Game" because I've never tried to have it, I just introduced subtle flirting with friends or with girls that we share a mutual friend with and it worked. Destiny is right that a 6/10 looks with a 10/10 personality will always win, but I'm not sure why he went with the 6/10 as that's above average. I'd still say a 5/10 with 10/10 personality would win but those are still as rare as a person with 10/10 looks. I think a problem is that women view "average" as "Below average". I've noticed that by listening to women and seeing what they consider ugly or "creepy". It's pretty ironic, or perhaps hypocritical, that the group that shouts the loudest about body positivity objectification don't believe the average man is physically attractive, and again, I say this as someone that's considered attractive but has observed how women treat normal looking guys compared to how they treat me.

I'm a woman here, so maybe I can give some hope. There's a galpal in our social group that is pretty attractive and is dating a below-average looking guy (serious relationship, not casual). The reason this worked out is because his personality made him attractive over-time. He didn't go for a hook-up because he knew that was not his style of game. He played the long game, and after a couple months of them hanging out as friends, they decided to hook-up and date. That's because people's personalities make them attractive over-time. The sad truth about dating is that it's a combination of factors you CAN and CAN'T control. You can control your dressing, hygiene, improve humor, etc. But you cannot control things such as height, skin color, and facial structure (unless you have money for good plastic surgery, not just any plastic surgery). But then again, most people don't have that kind of money. Some people just have to understand that they're not meant for dating, but that' does NOT mean they can't enjoy the pleasures of the world. I have a friend who thinks like this guy and the way these people view the world is so depressing. They hyper focus and fantasize about losing their virginity. The sad thing is that they never take good advice and don't become someone that people would like to be around instead they go to the gym so that they are the weird butter face in the corner that cant hold a 5 conversation with anyone. The problem is that we talk about discrimination based on other factors in society quite openly and try to legally adress them ( sexism, racism etc.) . But nobody cares about discrimination based on apperance although there is a decent amount of research that shows it exists and is sometimes quite substantial ( for both genders ) .
