Saying George Floyd wouldn't have died if he wasn't on drugs doesn't even matter. If you punch someone and they had some unknown medical condition that gets triggered by that and they die when a normal person would not you still killed that guy. It is even worse in the Floyd case since it is a professional keeper of the peace who took an oath to protect and serve. He ignored Floyd saying he couldn't breath. They knew he had no weapons at that point so should have just made him sit down after putting cuffs on him. They had absolutely no empathy though and let him slowly die pleading to let him up.

When I started doing dope 10 years ago I would get a single bag for $10 and split it with my ex and we would get high from that tiny amount, and I would feel like I would die if I did a whole bag myself. Then by the 3rd time doing it I was already doing a whole bag myself. Then eventually I was doing 5 bags a day just to feel normal. So yeah, I can imagine a lethal dose to someone who has never done it before would be an amount that an addict could do 3 times of easily and not even get high from it. Exactly..... And if you've ever been unfortunate enough to see someone overdose.... They don't flop around. They don't ask questions or call for help or their mom... They black out and fall asleep and their heart stops... And it usually happens within a minute of them doing the drug depending on if they shot it or if they took it some other way. They immediately become a completely lifeless body that goes limp and extremely heavy. If the cops thought he was overdosing then they would have narcaned him. Anyone who has ever seen someone else overdose off an opiate specifically knows that that was not an OD.
@mathualuisy16043 күн бұрын
@@MortuusTyrannusIf you're a paramedic, then I assume you're familiar with opiate overdoses... The people don't talk, fight, or struggle. They immediately pass out within a minute to 5 minutes after taking the drug depending on if they shot it up or ingested it some other way. And like the original poster said you can't take lethal dose and apply it in these type of situations because everyone's is different.. someone who's never used drugs before with OD off the smallest little line... While other people are able to do whole grams at a time and don't even seem that high.

30:00 One good place to look for important financial changes is a company's quarterly filings with the SEC (Form 10-Qs), on the EDGAR site. Companies are required to note such changes in the footnotes to the quarterly financial statements. In retail, "shrinkage" is the term for the difference between how many items you were supposed to have vs. how many you actually have. Those reasons include lots of things like theft, spoilage, miscounting, misordering, clerical errors, shortchanging by suppliers, etc., and it can be difficult or impossible to figure out where the shrinkage is coming from. Shrinkage can appear a few different ways depending on how the company chooses to present it, but in my experience, the two most common are 1) It'll be its own line item under expenses, or 2) it'll be folded into Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). Either way, it's largely an estimated number (you don't catch everyone that steals, and as noted above, shrinkage includes other factors like lost items or typos), and that estimate is often a percentage of the COGS (or the rest of COGS, if it's folded in). For example, if I spend $1 million on inventory, I may estimate that 1%, or $10,000, is lost to shrinkage, so I'll put the $10,000 in the financial statements, and I'll note in the footnotes that I'm estimating it at 1%. For large companies like Target and Walgreens, shrinkage can represent tens millions of dollars, and changes to the estimate can have significant effects, so changes are usually noted in the footnotes. If they're not noted, it's because the financial impact wasn't material. With that background info out of the way, check the financial statements for Target, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc., for every quarter starting in 2019. I wasn't able to find any that noted an increase in actual or estimated shrinkage, and in particular none that noted a shrinkage increase due to theft. Whatever was causing their stores to start closing, it likely wasn't shoplifting. It just doesn't make a big enough difference to their bottom line. Many companies opened new stores right before COVID, in areas that relied on lots of foot traffic (e.g., in Manhattan), and those stores didn't make money during the pandemic, so they closed. Other companies, like Walgreens, took several BILLION dollars in impairment charges (they made a bad investment in a walk-in clinic chain in the southeast US) and closed underperforming stores to try to prevent the stock price from plummeting. It's easy to make statements blaming things on shoplifting because it's in the news and shifts blame off of mid-level VPs who are trying not to get fired for pitching a store location that closed in 6 months or even higher level executives who suggested massive investments that instantly went to shit. So people like Majority Report didn't do their homework to adequately explain why shoplifting isn't the answer and thus had no real reason to think that, which is illogical, but that doesn't make their conclusion false. I think their conclusion is largely correct. It just doesn't appear anywhere in the financial data that shoplifting is making a big impact anywhere.

Just think of substance tolerance the way you view any other "training" tolerance. If you decide to become a competitive eater first week you might be able to eat 6 hotdogs in a sitting, second week 12, two months later 40 hotdogs. If you weight train you can bench 135, then 185, eventually 250 etc... Free drivers might be able to hold their breath for 30 seconds initially but after tons of practice they can go a couple minutes under water..... When experts talk about "lethal " doses they are speaking about doses that non users would consume because there's no way to come up with a research model for active addicts. So yes a child going underwater for one minute would drown, but a trained free diver would not. The same as if a non opiate user might overdose on a certain amount, but an addict could tolerate much more. Normally Addicts don't OD because they attempt to use too much, it's usually because they hadn't used in a while (were in jail, or treatment, or at the beginning of a relapse) and attempt to use the same large amounts that they were using when they were using regularly.... Basically what all these stupid George Floyd conspiracy idiots are arguing (by saying it was an overdose) is that Floyd was going to OD and die whether the cop suffocated him or not.... it's a brain dead argument and it's irrelevant. If I'm about to have a heart attack but you suffocate me before the heart attack begins, then I have a heart attack while you are suffocating me, you're still responsible for my murder.

7:29 It isn't really all that crazy. Hell, the term mithridatism exists, which is just consuming a poison by taking more and more dosages under the lethal amount to build up a resistance. Its a common plot device in many stories including the BASED the Princess Bride. It works with alcohol and a lot of other substances, so its not a wild guess to assume opioids work the same. Drinkers and cannabis-users (even nicotine if you're a freak) know and talk about stopping to reduce tolerance, to consume less later and still get drunk/high.

It’s probably almost impossible to prove that the police officer purposely let him die intentionally, and truth is we will never really know whether he did or didn’t, but we can definitely conclude he was extremely negligent and reckless in a way that caused a tragic human death.

this is a true story aka anecdotal. I was sent to Oakland for work. I had a several hours before my flight back home. I went to a local gas station by the airport to fill up the rental and grab some lunch. It had a Wendy's so I grabbed some food through the drive thru and parked at the gas station. I was eating my burger when 2 cars pulled up behind a blue crossover that just stopped to get gas. Two very-young adults jumped out of the cars, ran up to the blue crossover at the pump, smashed the back window and grabbed the suitcases out. They each jumped into a different car and speed away. It happened so fast and it was in the middle of the day. The gas station as very busy cops swarmed the streets causing all kinds of airport traffic. I was there for 2 weeks and all two weeks the car rental company and hotel i stayed at kept warning me about leaving things in my car. I didn't really believe them until that day. Other wise Oakland was relatively safe, and the people working in Oakland are friendly.

For the salt thing, you can purchase/rent a section of land in designated areas, mine what's there, then sell it. At least in Nevada that's what people do with other rocks.

My home town only has a like 3k people in it and I wanna say most of the firefighters are volunteers and also are first responders or work in the public service field like cops. But prolly cuz the town can’t afford to pay a bunch of firefighters. There may be 1 or 2 that get paid for it but I wouldn’t doubt they have another job.

meth in combination with opiates will raise the tolerance like crazy, it almost counteracts the depression of the cns making it possible to consume much more than the “lethal” amounts of the opiate. also from experience, people that are around people who use fent and herion it is impossible to avoid meth. most who do herion and fent either do or know people who do meth regularly.

destiny is playing himself here, if the average death from fetanyl is 26, then floyd would've been right around there. Using the norfentanyl concentration, you can approximate that the peak fentanyl concentration was around 22-28

for shoplifting you dont report every event for multiple reasons. 1. You don't notice every event. 2. Many of these shoplifters are in and out in 2-5 minutes, while the police take 1 hour+ to arrive. 3. Even if the police are already there for some reason then the person would just leave the cart, drop the items, etc, and leave after seeing police. Even though realistically you know they were going to steal, it becomes a problem that you cannot prove they were going to do something like some minority report shit. Even at a store that does ~30k in sales a day you can have days with multiple cart walkouts and literally not a day goes by that you do not find empty packages people have pulled an item out of already. Thats not even counting the number of empty bookbags and big ass purses that come in empty and leave full. And if you block the front exit to grab them some of the more brazen ones will just leave out a fire exit. You literally can't stop all of it, its just not possible. Society only works because people are generally good and don't steal. If everyone decided stealing was ok the basic idea of going to the store would not exist anymore, or at least it would be radically different and radically more expensive. Thats also not counting the surprising amount of grazing where people just grab things like grapes or wings from a self serve chicken wing bar and just eat them throughout the store.

The stats in the study being looked at around the 9:00-10:00min mark aren’t evidence of anything at all. In a way that should be obvious, and I’m honestly surprised Destiny interpreted it as evidence. You’re looking at a mean, not median, of 23 for people who DID die, accidentally, and considering that evidence that people with a fentanyl addiction can tolerate an amount higher than 11. That doesn’t show that at all. 0.00001 could be lethal in 100% of cases, but a single child who got into a bag of fentanyl thinking it was powdered sugar would dramatically skew the mean upward. Especially given that it specifically said that many of the accidental deaths involved other drugs as well. Remember that scene in Pulp Fiction where she finds heroin in a jacket pocket and thinks it’s coke? She ODed. You wouldn’t use the amount of heroin in her system as evidence that a heroin addict CAN handle that amount. That could be the case, but nothing about that measure would be evidence of that claim. I sort of assumed Destiny or some chatter would catch this when someone called attention to the 400+ number in suicides. Is that evidence that someone who wants to kill themselves can maybe handle WAY more fentanyl? Obviously not. These are people who DID die, from consuming the substance incorrectly. Destiny is right on the point he’s making, what he’s reading just doesn’t support the claim at all.

How can one determine a “lethal” limit of any drug? I am prescribe a very high amount of methadone that would surely kill a person without or even an average tolerance yet it doesn’t even give me a buzz and just lets me function in my daily life… to say the amount of any drug in his system is lethal therefore that’s the obvious cause of death is wild, it’s not a one size fits all hat you can place on anyone. Most addicts will be very tolerable. I’m not sure how this ng/ml thing breaks down but given ng means nano grams(?) it would be a smaller measurement than micrograms, the typical measurement for fent doses given legally right? Say someone put two 100mcg patches on their body what’s the conversion for ng/ml? That info would help

volunteer firefighters in WA are supplementary to the official paid local firefighters and made of typically ex-military and those hoping to be hired. They act kind of like a National Guard by deploying to major events, like the Oso Landslide a few years back. I don't know who they answer to, though.
