@singami465
@singami465 3 жыл бұрын
For beginners/intermediates, usually the most important information isn't "this is what your opponent is supposed to play", but rather "this is why every other reply is bad and how you can punish it". After QD6, I immediately see the majority of my games would go KB5, as it's the most "tempting" move. It's not even about beating bad players, but knowing the goal behind each move, making these moves with knowledge of what you want to achieve, rather than autopiloting and getting lost when the opponent does something weird.

the new type of content is very welcome and fits well in the channel. the evans gambit video was absolutely great, one of the more popular videos on the evans gambit on the internet is from 'thechesswebsite' youtube channel. they have a lot of great content there, but their videos are extremely old now, i think some 10 years old, and the audio and video leaves a lot to be desired. i had actually began looking at evans gambit before you made the video, so seeing you post it was a nice treat. im looking forward to more of this type of content.

Look at the position at 15:16. Then imagine the open b file where a rook (or two) can add to the attack. That should give you an idea of what Agadmator is referring to.
@honourabledoctoredwinmoria3126
@honourabledoctoredwinmoria3126 3 жыл бұрын
@@philipsaoud244 In general, if you want to take a "free" pawn with a queen, you need to consider that your next move needs to be to get the queen out of there probably to a square you don't want it. So if they can attack your queen and also hit an important square behind it, then it's almost certainly a terrible idea.

If you want to practise finding the best moves these are my best advices. Play the Nakhmanson and the Helloween and the Kings gambit. But throw in two or three profylactic moves in there, restricting your opponents knightmoves.

I remember of beginning of 2000's, I still didn't have my PC and had to resort to one of several internet cafés in the city. I lived a frig life, and set money aside from food and public transportation in order to pay several hours in warm internet café's room ti play in then so notorious Yahoo chess lounges. This line 3. ...Qd6 was then so popular, and I - misdirected by old issues of Chess Encyclopaedia by Chess Informant, I believed it was "wrong" move that should be refuted, so I thought my opponents had used engines. I could afford one little bottle of schweppes and a espresso and several hours of internet until dawn, and only later I learned that they did use an engine... And funny thing is that Tal's moves from early sixties are now confirmed by engine(s) as the best (for example, his extraordinary move against Ivkov in Bled 1961, when Botvinnik's KGB tried to poison Tal and Fischer was a collateral damage, but that's another story)... Anyway(s), 3. ...Qe6 is probably even better... ;=)

7:38 if white plays a3 queen takes on b2 and the knight is hanging if rook b1 simply queen takes knight on c3 and the a3 pawn is hanging theres is alot of pressure on f3 knight and d4 pawn of course white will get an open file for rook but as GM ben finegold said there is a big attack except for one thing there isn't a attack

Never seen Agadmator do an opening tutorial video. 3...Qd6 looks like an aggressive way to play with black: Queenside pieces out, castle queenside, then get the kingside pieces out.

The things with openings are just that there are so many possible variations. At my level (1400) people play all kinds of things. So the first few moves have some value. After that it can get a little sketchy. Still I liked the video. Not many top players seem to play this opening in classical.
