@Manuel Mendoza I always don't play Scandinavian Def at all. I'm still an amateur who is stuck on 1200 FIDE. I have no friends that can play with me that can help me learn. There are some that play chess but they are too competitive to ask and they are too addicted at placing bets on who is going to win. So the safest way for me to play is against an AI but I have to raise it to a Level 12 so that I can be an equal to a human player but failing miserably. My main openings are Halosar Gambit, Queen's Gambit, and French Defense.

I love how when Aanand's rook was pinning the bishop/rook, Carlsen had already placed his rook on a black square. I sort of looked at that and realized that if the rook had been on the opposite color, he would have lost the game right there.... And I think I'm going to keep that in mind in my own games. I know it's probably basic chess but I really enjoyed that foresight of the future position to know that the rook needed to be on that square.

#suggestion... Please put more sublte descriptions in this video as it was just a kind of drawn endgame, where Anand might have gone wrong.. n put more importance about knight capturing the bishop and fixing the white pawn structure but still Anand cud not hold the position.. Please refer to my suggestion, Agadmator. It ud be more interesting and highly interesting... Otherwise this game would have nothing significant.. it ud just be pointless to watch it like any other blitz game video.

One important advantage of the Scandinavian is that black gets no long term disadvantages. So if black plays the opening stage well then s(he) can equalize. In 'normal' openings often black is suffering a long time because of for example a positional weakness. In this game Anand (white) accepted a long term positional disadvantage which surprised me. I am not surprised that he lost this game vs Carlsen with such a seriously damaged pawn structure.

Isn't it popular in rapid? Dont know about this specific line, but Scandi in geneneral is quite popular in faster time controls. What I love about Carlsen he plays pretty much everything. Some players stick to their boring repertoire, he is mixing up all openings. Didn't see Dutch for a long time from him though :-)

At minute 8:39 it would be cool to go down with the rook so vish has to block with the bishop... i have a question there because: the king cant take the white pawn because he would go into chess. But its not really chess because the bishop would be pinned. Would be cool if the king could enter a chess situation if the piece is pinned

Agad... at 4:06 Knight captures on E3 the live commentary crew was quite perplexed and they thought that was such a bad move, fixing Anand's Pawn structure. You did not dwell much on this move, so do you think it was not that critical at all? Or did Carlsen indeed let go of an advantageous position here?

It's crazy how bad Magnus was in St. Louis and so good in India. In STL, Magnus just wanted to leave and Maurice seemed to love it.. lol
