D666 and Absu are my fav black thrash bands, a video like this but for Absu would be cool

In the 90s KKs repeatedly said that he had grown tired of the whole War Metal thing and wanted to go back to the roots and write memorable riffs instead of just blast beats although that shift didn't happen immediately. Fun fact - Violence... was recorded on the same mixing console AC/DC had used very early into their career.

Hi bro! I also think Phoenix Rising is the best Destroyer666 album and one of my favorite metal albums. On october I will see they live, playing for the first time in Ecuador.🤘

Nice video buddy, I actually loved Never Surrender. If you listen to it knowing that it's largely a Motorhead tribute, it might be elevated in your eyes (or ears, for that matter) Edit: I would love to see you rank more bands from the black metal sphere

Thanks! I'll have to give Never Surrender a relisten at some point with that in mind. And I agree, I do need to rank more bands from the black metal sphere. I'm a big black-thash guy, so you'll probably see me do more videos from that realm in the future. Absu, Desaster, Nifelheim, Aura Noir, etc.

Great video on a great band. A few things though. Megiddo - The Devil and the Whore is a great companion to Unchain The Wolves. No mention of the drum sound on Phoenix Rising? Defiance on CD is too compressed with low guitars, but get a vinyl version as the mix is an improvement. Even the Pic LP sounds a lot better. Definitely worth buying another copy of.

Great video! You obviously love the band. I just purchased Phoenix Rising on vinyl recently. Definitely an excellent album. Cheers!

Nice video, Australia has a very interesting extreme metal scene. On the whole it seems the first wave BM bands have much stronger influence here then they do in other scenes. My ranking would be 1) unchain the wolves 2) cold steel 3) phoenix rising 4) wildfire 5) never surrender 6) defiance

Oof seeing Defiance at the bottom hurts my heart. "A Stand Defiant" and "Human, All Too Human" are seriously underrated songs. And I stand by my statement that "A Sermon to the Dead" is one of their best closers, second only to "The Birth of Tragedy."
