So, I once was playing with this mod and I found out the hard way that the mod (at the time, idk about if it is still this way) that hallowed stone was whitelisted for whatever reason, and it ate a massive hole in the underground near my base.

i would disagree. mining only takes a while if you let it. with proper gear, like seafood and mining potions and a certain ancient chisel, it can go by quite fast. and only the ancient chisel is challenging to get early game, the rest just take a bit of time. and personally, i'd rather spend hours in life or death battles with antlions in the desert than spend even slightly more time than is necessary mining at below maximum efficiency. because that's what this game is about: spending as much time as you need stacking the deck in your favor.

I sometimes accidentally hold down n (my weinmine hotkey) when mining up dirt and dont have a hotkey to remove tiles from the whitelist. But im kinda used to it and just go "welp, im either replacing all of it, try to take advantage of it, or make a new world. And i dont feel like choosing the first 2 options.
