Man...some of these fakes are really close to the LEGO version. Also, the holes in the head isn't the best way to tell a real from fake. LEGO actually removed the holes in the head around 2012 for some reason. Kind of a stupid thing to do, but modern minifigs won't have the hole.

It was actually the smart thing to do for three reasons: A:The holes were too small to actually breathe through. B:Because of the holes, if you tried to blow and cough up the head, it wouldn't work, because The air would leave through the head. C:Counterfeits.

Lego really needs to bring their prices back in line with what the average parent can afford for their kids. I buy knock-off clone sets for my son because there's no way in the world I can afford a $80 Lego set but I sure can buy the almost exact same quality set for $25 on AliExpress.

I'd recommend keeping them separate. The lower-quality "fake" ones may not "stick together" as consistently as the official pieces. But I just bought a $100+ discontinued set for $18 on aliexpress.

Fun fact the little holes on the top of the head wont actually save a child who is choking there isn't enough air to flow through and having it filled helps with trying to push it out. So having the hole increase the chance of death rather then saving them.

I personally buy a lot of fake figs, its way more affordable than trying to find every set that has the figures i want. But i am a star wars fan first before a lego fan and lego doesn’t give us the opportunity to purchase all the sets and figures from the star wars movies on their website so it leaves me with limited choices on how to obtain some of these obscure characters.

Nathan .w i understand that, but at this point if i were to buy a retired official lego set from someone on ebay lucasfilm wouldnt be getting any more money anyway. Its the fact that these chinese lego makers have the ability to recreate any type of lego figure and they are pretty close to the original, while allowing me to buy them individually for a low price. I use bricklink as well for figs, but you could say the same about that. lego has already received the profit from the figs being bought there so its not like they are being supported any more than a chinese website.
