Picked up Hwei after trying several different champs and now to find your videos have really been giving me a much better grasp not only on the champ, but more important mid role fundamentals. I think the people who try to put a strong emphasis on a specific concept are the ones who are trying to make it seem harder than it actually is, to put themselves above everybody else who hasn't reached their spot yet. Even if they're doing it subconsciously. I would probably put it like that even though it's essentially what you're saying: the only thing holding a player back from climbing through the Elos is themselves. When you think you know something which you actually don't you will just never learn it. And that's what most stuck players do. They think, they are already better, than what is reflected in their current rank. Which bars them from asking the right questions that will make them get better at the game. And that's all there is to it.

fundamentally its true, but stuff like losers queues etc. do exist. One example: It took me 300 games to get diamond on my main account, but it only took me 30 games to get to diamond 4 on new account xd so now you get it

if your fundamentals are very flexible then that's true. but specific things like "take baron after you get a pick" might be true in high elo and definitely NOT true in low elo.

People invent or use these terms like losers q, op, broken champion, elo hell ext because they are bad at the game and got frustrated. it took you only 30 games to get diamond in 4 of your accounts becasue during time you improved your skills and got more experienced about the game and also because you have a "new wr" not altered by any lost games. So combining these 2 things: new WR and more experience its inevitable that you will climb faster. Dont make excuses because you are bad at the game or trust what others streamers/youtubers say but improve yourself. And trust me even if you think you are playing perfectly, me as a master player or any other coach could review your diamond games we will find many mistakes.

I used to play this game alot in S4-S7. I was a diamond support main, however i basically quit the game until literally 2 weeks before split. After coming back I decided i hate current support and want to try a new role. I choose mid cause it looks like a perfect mix of macro and micro play that id think id wanna play. i played my promos... and got bronze.... Mainly cause i was so rusty i cant hit any freaking skill shot ever, and that i completely forgot what i wanna do with the wave at all points I 100% deserved that rank. Watching your videos and channel (That i discovered through mobafire XD) these past few weeks has been incredibly helpful into remembering all the old skills i forgot and with transitioning my relearned knowledge into mid lane. Im currently emerald 4 and im staying there cause god damnit ima blind pick syndra until i learn her even though shes like my lowest WR mid. anyways i just wanted to say thank you your channel is awsome, and maybe i dont have any grounds to speak on but i agree people in this game dont play the cards they have in this game they just focus on who else is making mistakes. almost every game i feel someone throws away a decent amount of gold cause they are more busy fighting with another player in text and thats the reason they cant do this or that or help the rest of the team is because X Y Z player didnt show to drake that 1 time at 5 minutes. its annoying but such is solo queue. keep making great videos and carrying me back to diamond.

Love the vids, altho as a fellow Hwei lover I notice you don’t tend to use EW very often. At 2:28, or any situation like that when there’s 1 enemy in a tight corridor it’s so good for zoning and chains with QW perfect Situations with no vision at 14:50 as well, EQ is so much less likely to hit whereas at least EW if it misses acts as a temporary small ward

I think this is because he wants to hold E to have the continued threat of it. If he uses it there, he might zone her off or get a good trade, but there will be a window which might be punishable. Shok did mention Katarina being quite strong early, so I think that could be the reason

@@UrAwsome55 I did think that too, but he would have denied cannon using it there and only had to be more defensive for 8 seconds til it came back. Its not 100% a wrong choice not using it but imo (after watching streams) he could use it more often

Great video again Shok! Quick question: You mentioned in your last tier video to primarily go First strike when you outrange the enemy laner. Why is it that you go in this game Summon Aery instead of First Strike?

I think it's because first strike is really good in 14.10, but this video is in 14.9, so I guess aery was better in 14.9 in this case

Normally you take first strike into melees for a couple reasons, 1 obviously you outrange them so it's easy to proc, but also 2. most melees have a shit ton of sustain (second wind, dshield, fleet, absorb life, vamp scepters etc) but Katarina actually doesn't have much sustain so you can look to punish her in lane instead.

When you said that Katarina didnt roam with priority in lain, how can she get priority? You beat her in lain so what should she have done? Or is it that she didnt roam at specifically good times?

She can get prio either by having the jungler gank, or she might just have to roam without priority. This is a really hard matchup because Kat doesn't really have any windows to win 1v1, so she kinda has to take coinflip roams in order to win

Are you queueing mid > support? I think you could play ziggs when you get adc, I wouldn't put time into kalista she's very difficult especially for an offrole champ

is it really worth giving mid to bot lane when u're as ahead as u were here? it feels like a waste to have u side lane when u have as much damage potential as you do. any other mid, or if u were behind, and i would agree to give. what are your thoughts?

i think below high elo you won't be able to coordinate lane assignments anyways and making sure you get solo lane xp and gold is most important.

Other way around 😂. If you’re ahead go give it to them and split, as you’ll have a better chance of pressuring the enemy who’s contesting to. If you’re behind, stay mid to try to stabilise yourself 👍

Normally you want to give up mid to bot lane, it allows you to push waves further in, get more solo gold/xp, take jungle camps and potentially pressure sidelane towers. If you're behind it can be scarier because you may not be able to push out, but if you're ahead you definitely want to be in the sidelane.

Personally i really struggle vs Assasins like Kata that can easily roam. They can get their roams off so easily and with most mid champs I cant match the roam cause they just kill me in river. Especially when they have a strong early jungler its really hard to even get vision in the river. For example if they have Katarina + Bel'Veth and my team has something like Ryze + Shyvana it just feels so impossible to prevent roams. Ofc in a good matchup like ryze vs kata i can get a cs lead/plates 1v1 but I cant really solo kill her early game unless she goes in and she can just win bot lane. With the impact of ADC role i feel like me punishing mid doesnt really matter. Are there any ways to prevent that from happening? Its true that if I play Ryze like in the example I could countergank with my R post-6 (same would probably go for other roamers like Taliyah or TF that lose duels early game) but its such a long cooldown and doesnt really solve the problem imo. I thought about forcing hard trades with my opponent so that they are too low to roam. But if we both are low hp and they have the better early game jungler that benefits them cause I would have to reset and they could stay and get a 1v1 advantage which can't be right either.

Punishing mid definitely matters, there's a Ryze vs Kat vod in my unranked to master playlist that you may want to watch. She still gets some successful roams off but overall I punish her hard enough that I can still carry the game.

I still like tear tbh, Aery/Comet are good in ranged matchups but against most melees you will take first strike, unless they are playing a melee without any sustain and that doesn't use dshield second wind
