“Humble and Kind” sung by Tim McGraw. That’s the song my son chose to dance with me at his wedding. So many things in that song were lessons I thought him. Im so proud of my son. My husband, my son’s dad, died unexpectedly when my son was only 14. He has grown to be such a wonderful man.

"Take Me Home, Country Roads". My mom used to sing that to me until I was around 10. She's still living, but it just really reminds me of a more innocent time in my life. I don't see her all that often because of distance ❤️

“Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver is very special to me too. This song will always remind me of my parents. It transports me back to my childhood. My brother, my sister, and I would sing this song at the top of our lungs as we jumped on my parent’s bed while our Dad got ready for work. He worked overnights at the White House in Washington, DC and we lived quite a distance away in Virginia. He would have to leave for work right before we went to bed. It’s amazing how music can evoke such emotion and so many memories.

One song that gets me every time is “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw. My sophomore year of high school and friend and classmate of mind took his own life and it was devastating for out community. When I graduated high school, we have a rose ceremony where we give roses to our loved ones and every student in my class had a rose to give to the family of the classmate we lost. This was the song we had chosen for that moment and it was such a tender and special moment to all come together in that difficult time.

My dad wakes up every morning singing a new song, sometimes it’s an oldie, sometimes it’s country or rock, but it never fails that he wakes up with a song in his head. A song I will always remember him singing though is the Mr Rodgers “beautiful day in the neighborhood” song, every morning taking us to school, and he would sing it driving through our neighborhood. Music is powerful, and it can sometimes be the one thing that heals hearts. Thank you for reminding me of this. ❤️

Good job with the retrieval of your air pod Jared, well done. Nothing ventured nothing gained. You two are great parents, so take a bow 🙇♀️🙇♂️. You are my Sunshine.. that song takes me right back to my childhood home, my parents would sing that to each other regularly, it’s bitter sweet now because I close my eyes and I’m back there. It makes me want to go back in time, and yet it makes me sad because I miss them so much .. I’m 67 now and they have both been gone a long time.( tears now). Keep savouring every moment with your beautiful family. God bless all of you and the little one on the way. I watch your Vlog every night as I get into bed. Cheers, Suzy from Australia 🇦🇺

The song Armies of Helaman (I think it's called something else, but that's what we say) reminds me of my sweet Grandmother who would request that each of the men in our big family sing it at our annual camping reunions. We would sing it loud as it echoed through the Idaho mountains. There was never a dry eye. It was one of her small attempts to bring hope in some of the family returning to the Church and finding a righteous path again. She passed a few months ago, but we still plan on singing that for her in the exact same spot every summer. *Jared, you are hilarious. Your editing talents and clips that you come up with, even simple, everyday things you make interesting and fun, when really they are not. I appreciate that. I literally laugh out loud everyday and look forward to it. *Ellie, I am in the beginning of potty training my 4th baby. You are inspiring me to keep at it, because, you are right, each kids is different. Love you guys!! From Salt Lake City!!

"How great thou art" was one of my grandmas favorite songs. I heard it on the day of her funeral, and i vividly remember the two women that sang it, the organ, being surrounded by my family In the church, and even though their voices werent perfect and they were older, I will never forget that song and the looks on my families faces. It is as beautiful as my grandma, and although it was the first time me hearing it on that day, its engraved in me, it was awesome hearing your story

Music is powerful! It's amazing how you can even hear a song you've never heard before, and it still brings back a memory. Bagpipe music always reminds me of my grandmother, she was Scottish, and adored bagpipes. There are so many songs that remind me of someone, but in particular, a song called "Hug Him Once for Me" always makes me cry and think of the baby we lost 5 years ago. It is sad, but also so comforting at the same time. Also, I had always said I would never marry a man if he didn't sing to me, and my husband does all the time! The first time my sister met him, we were riding in the car - he and I were in the backseat and she was driving. He started singing softly to me, and when we got home, my sister came to me and said, "He's the one! He sang to you!"

My Daddy fought in WWII and I remember him dancing with my Mom to Jimmy Durante’s “I’ll Be Seeing You” as sung by Louie Armstrong. From my Daddy I learned to love Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Charlie Pride....etc. My Momma loved Ella Fitzgerald but my sweet Momma couldn’t carry a tune in a water-bucket (God rest her sweet soul.) But, I’m fortunate that my parents loved music!! My Daddy played the trombone in a band with the Masons & I started taking piano lessons at age 5 & took them for 14 years. I still love to play!! I was also the classic band geek in High School & was a percussionist. Thanks for asking us to write down a memory, I sure do miss my parents, but am blessed to know that I WILL be with them again, some sweet day!! ❤️

8 years ago. My Mom and I flew across Canada to see The Eagles. The concert was amazing, it was outdoors in a football stadium. They never played Desperado, even after the encore. Everyone was gathering their things to leave, when you hear the first few notes of Desperado... Everyone turned to the dark stage. Then one spotlight turned into Don Henley at a piano. I had goosebumps the entire time. Desperado will always remind me of my Mom and her love for music and sharing that love with Me. ❤️❤️❤️

Jared, Glad you were able to retrieve your ear bud. There are many songs of the 1960s that I enjoy and remind me of people and places. I use to live an hour away from my Uncle Gabriel so I enjoyed it when he would come and get me for visits when I was a kid. He had an orange van that had shag carpeting in the back. He had 2 bean bags and a mini fridge filled with 7 up and Wrigley's Gum in the white package. I would sit back and relax and he would have Motown playing on the radio. When he would wash the van he would have Jose Feliciano's Sunny blasting from the speakers. To this day I associate that song to spending time with my Uncle and a fresh clean scent. I now turn that song on when I am cleaning my house and love it!

When I was pregnant and found out we were having a boy, me and my husband couldn't decide on a name, we went on a road trip and the Beatles song "Hey, Jude" came on. I liked the name from then on, when Jude arrived 7 weeks early, the song kept coming back to my mind, seeing him In an incubator, we then found out his blood type is B+ and the basis of the song Hey, Jude is that you need to "be positive" (B+) so the name stuck, and we play it to him frequently. 😍

Songs! Right now all that comes to mind is my parents! My momma passed away this past November 7th so when u mentioned songs it made me think of her favorite song “Hit the Road Jack!” She was so feisty so it suited her! It was her ringtone on her phone! And then my daddy, his song for her is “Just the Two of Us” and it always makes me smile thinking of how much he adored and still adores her! They were missionaries in Africa and dad is still going strong in Zambia for the Lord to fulfill their purpose there! Those songs will always mean the world to me!

When I was in grade 9(I think I was 13 or 14) I went on my very first trip by myself without parents or family, with my school. We travelled a few provinces over to Quebec, for our French class. We spent a week and a half travelling the cities, and doing all kinds of amazing and engaging things. One of my favourite parts, was going to this giant sacred church(I wish I could remember the name... it’s famous for the miracles that are preformed there) and buying a glass angel; I got it blessed by the priest while I was there, and gifted it to my favourite aunt. Two songs that instantly time warp me back to those sunny days, is “She’s got style - NeverShoutNever!” And “Kids - MGMT”

Every Billy Joel song reminds me of my dad. He was always a fan and listened to Billy's records (yes, records) and l became a fan because it's what I grew up with. I have been SO fortunate to be able to have seen Billy live 9 times now. I have always wanted to one day go to see him with my dad to kind of "pay him back" for introducing and encouraging my love of his music. I found out that this year, the day after my birthday, Billy would be in Atlanta to be the first musical act in the new Delta (Braves) Stadium. This was my chance! I called my step-mother and asked if she thought they could come down from NJ and "celebrate" my birthday with us. Long story short, they came and he and I got to go to the concert together. It was EVERYTHING l thought and wanted it to be. I will NEVER forget that night and I don't think he will either.

I didn't realize the significance of this song until it was played in my History of Rock and Roll class yesterday. It's called will the circle be unbroken by Johnny Cash. It reminded me of the summer days I would spend with my family at my Nana's boyfriend's camp (he's like my Papa because I have never met my Papa and Clarence has been in my life forever). I remembered sitting on the porch singing it quietly with my Dad while my Nana and Clarence were sharing stories from the war. It made me realize how I need to appreciate times like that more because my Nana is 97 and I want to cherish the time I have left with her.

When I was young, my mom used to sing “I Love You Lord” to me and my siblings every night before we went to bed and anytime we needed to be held or soothed. My mom passed 11 years ago but to this day hearing that song brings me such peace. No matter who’s signing, I only hear it in my mom’s voice. I agree. Music is so powerful. Listening to music has always been my getaway place for me to truly think about my life and my purpose in life. I am always motivated to make a difference in my community, in the people I meet at my college, and my family of whom I love and adore, especially my father in particular. He is a reminder of my presence in this world. We share this special, one-of-a-kind bond that allows us to be true to one another, loyal, and compassionate. We also share this one passion of music of which we both can't live without. We love to listen to the 50's and 60's including The Monkees, The Everly Brothers, The Tokens, and most of all, the Beatles! Every time "Imagine" by John Lennon or "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles appear on the radio, their songs remind me of my father. When listening to these songs, all I can imagine and visualize is where the Beatles were united. It has always been my ultimate dream to recapture their moments in London and experience the revolution of change they created throughout generations. Only if I can go back in time and live the life when the Beatles made a difference through their music and from their words of wisdom (Also, keep in mind, I'm only 19) ^.^

The song “I come to the garden alone” will forever remind me of my Grandaddy. He planted thousands of flowers each year in his yard and at his church. All the way into his 90’s when his mind just gave out. I now sing it to my son when I put him to sleep. I find great comfort in knowing my sweet Grandaddy, who taught me about nature and the constellations, is now with our Maker and I can’t wait to hug him again one day ♥️

I'm so happy to hear a great update for Calvin and his potty training!! (: Both my sister and my BFF are potty training their 2 boys right now too. My Gramma used to sing a bunch of Church Hymns. The one I am remembering now is "He walks with me, and He talks with me". When I hear it it brings me back to the days when she was alive. I miss that woman so very much. I inherited all my craftiness and my attitude from her, LOL!! Another couple are Delta Dawn & Teen Angel. Those were the songs my Mom knew when I was a baby, so instead of lullabies she sang those 2 songs to me. (:

When my grandmother passed away two years ago, me and my two sisters sang "Will the Circle be Unbroken" with my brother playing the piano. I did the first part and I choked up and started crying pretty quickly, looking at my grandma and all the people there. Then my sisters (who stood on both sides of me) both put an arms around me and sang my part so I could calm down and join in again. I get kind of sad hearing the song, but it also reminds me of that moment, which makes me feel my family's love and warmth

The Song “As a Deer” or “Kao Kosuta” in Montenegrin takes me back to my first mission trip when I got to visit the local church. The song sounded so beautiful in their language. Flash forward 4 years and my friend and I were just playing music one night and she began to play a song and I was like “I know this song, but not those words...” and I realized it was the song that I heard on my mission trip and I finally got to learn what it was in English and understand what they were singing! It was beautiful. My friend and I got to sing it at church and she sang it in english and I did in Montenegrin... it was one of those moments. Like I hummed that tune to everyone I knew at church trying to figure out the song in english... and at “random” it was revealed years later when I was praying about if I should return back for a mission trip there again! So this summer I’m going back!!

The songs “the road less traveled” and “run” by George straight take me straight to the Greys river. It’s our favorite place to camp as a family, I’ve grown up going there and those songs always immediately pull up the dirt road with the river running along it in my mind, and it makes me think of my Dad because the Greys is his favorite place in the entire world. Mine too!

My Grandmother had a singing group with 3 other ladies in our church. How Great Thou Art, is the song that reminds me of her and Church when I was younger. I love that song and cannot listen to it without tearing up, even now typing this I am. I love and miss her so very much.

"I Wonder When He Comes Again" reminds me of my mom and it takes me back to my childhood. When I was scared at night my mother would sing it to me. I love you mom!

Wow there are so many songs from the 70s and 80s that take me back to my childhood. One of them in particular was sung for the ‘Grease’ Movie, ‘Your the one that I want’. Actually all those songs from that film take me back to my high school days when I was 16 and all the shenanigans my friends and I would get up too. Elle I love the fact that you still have that blanket that your mum made.

We are also potty training our youngest boy who was born about a month before Calvin. It is so incredibly draining and emotional (on both the parents and kiddos). We are having more and more success each day, except at night which just results in more laundry every morning. Glad to hear it’s going well! Good job Calvin!!

Willie Nelson's City of New Orleans is a song I can't hear without thinking of my dad. He used to sing to my older sister and I every night before bed with his guitar, and that was one of the main songs he sang to us. I was around 4 years old when my parents divorced, so I remember before that, it was our night time ritual, and once we moved away from him, I missed it a lot. I remember hearing it on the radio later on, and thinking someone has stolen my Dad's song, and I was super angry about it lol. When I got married years later, I had that song played for our Father/Daughter dance, and we both cried. Still always think of my Dad when I hear Willie Nelson.

GOOD JOB, Jared!🚗🎉👌👍👍 Silent Night always reminds me of my Nana, who taught it to me, and my six cousins, in German when we were little. Her family came over from Stuttgart, and she spoke only German growing up, until she went to school. ...Salt of the earth, my Nana~❤️

Honestly the whole soundtrack from the greatest showman is amazing and still impacts me when I hear it. I think of how I want to make my two little boys’ lives a wonderful, magical journey, how I love my husband and I would follow him anywhere he would lead our family with God leading him and also to not get caught up in material goals but to focus on what is truly important to me ❤️ you guys are so great! Thank you for doing what you do!

“You are my sunshine”. My dad was in the military and when ever he was deployed he would call us and sing it. It was always the most special when it was on the voicemail. A song that takes me somewhere is Girl Crush by Little Big Town. My friend’s dad was also in the military but tragically died in a helicopter crash. After that she started to drift away but we always sat next to each other on the bus so she would play that song and it brought us back together.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow. My late son passes away when he was 7 after a 4 year battle with brain cancer. He was obsessed with rainbows and all things bright and colourful. We played somewhere over the Rainbow at his funeral. Hit me with your best shot was also a song that reminds me of him. He learned the chorus of the song on to sing to his nurses after his second relapse. He was 6. Every time it plays I hear him singing it and grooving down to it. Love and miss him.

The JCB song reminds me of me and my dad's relationship. It's silly but the lyrics are just so true to us. We've always been close and I've always looked up to him. Any time we hear the song we just look at each other and we know. :) very grateful for music, too!

my magical music moment was when my dance troupe was getting ready to go on stage for our final competition of the year and we were practising in the dressing room. We didn't have the music so we all sang the lyrics to the song. The best thing was that we were just having fun performing a dance we all loved! xx

"I'm already There" by Lonestar. My dad used to leave frequently on work trips. He told me once that he listened to this song when he was gone and thinks about his kids and wife. He told me that no matter where he is, he is always there with us in our hearts. Now that I am far away from home, I play this and think of my dad :)

"Every storm runs outta rain" is a song we listened to when we went through our miscarriages and just hard times! It was just encouraging us and reminding us it would be better soon. So it reminds us of our babies!!!

The song that I think of most is "Daddy's Hands" by Holly Dunn, It reminds me so much of my father growing up he always worked with his hands. He was a contractor who could and did work on every stage of building houses. One thing that always stuck with me was how calloused and how strong his hands were. Even though my dad had trouble saying the words I always knew he loved me. When he was alive it was our song and I used to sing it to him... I lost him 11 years ago as of today and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't play that song... I love your blog thank you for sharing... Rendida

“The Gods Were Angry With Me” by Jim Reeves always takes me back to sitting in my Grandpa’s little red truck as we would drive around for hours taking new roads we never been on before, and just seeing where they went. My Grandpa would alway say “ I’m never lost, I always can find my way back home. We would sing along cassette tapes and just enjoy each other’s company. Though my grandpa has passed on, I always remember that when I’m driving around and listening to this song, I’m never lost and I can always find my way back home.

A song that reminds me of someone special is "A Few Of My Favorite Things" and it reminds me of my grandma. She taught me before she passed away from Ovarian/Cervical to treasure the small things in life. She never had to say it to me but rather showed me through her love and the things she would do with me. Still to this day I LOVE the movie "Sound of Music" where that song is commonly known from. I miss my grandma dearly even though she's been passed away since I was 7 1/2 and I'm now 32 years old. If there was one thing in life that I could wish for is to have her back.
