yeah volvo comes off to me as an actual quality car, Mazda comes off as a cheap alternative. a mazda with a smashed bumper why?

Well... Volvo uses european Ford motors and suspension parts, probably other Ford parts bin stuff too... Now maybe it's because I live in South Africa, but I'd rather buy a Mazda. Both brands have a dealer network here, but Mazda spares cost a lot less, and there's less car drama with the 3 guys at work who drive Mazda 3 & CX3, than the one who has a new Fiesta... oh and the sales guy who bought a new Volvo C30 T3 18 months ago... he's driving a Golf TSI now. Maybe that means nothing, and it's all just coincidence
