I believe that whether they survive the bad pufferfish is influenced by their mood. As you saw with Stanley, surviving makes them confident so they’re less likely to die on subsequent servings. I can’t believe Nancy survived when she was very uncomfortable. She must have gotten very lucky.

For the pufferfish it's a 50% chance and the sim has to be in a bad mood to make it higher. I hope this helps! I'm a big fan!

There's NO WAY it's a 50% chance - she'd have seen significantly more deaths if that was the case given how many she sold. I think sources have overinflated the percentage, because it was never meant to be an almost guarantee like that. And past discussion on the internet about it suggests it's closer to 20% and that's only if you max out the chance of death (single serving cooked, poor quality, person eating it is in a bad mood, cooked with low quality appliances, etc) otherwise the chance is lower than that.

It's actually 0.5 of base chance, wich can go up to 100. So a literal 0.5 change of killing someone by default. If it's poor quality, it gets a multiplier of 6, making a wooping 3% chance of being lethal. Then there is another x6 multiplier if the sim is in a bad mood, wich I'm not sure if it's stack, but I would assume so to make it 18%, plus another x3 if the sim has fear of death, so 54% is the max. It's only 0% if the food quality is outstanding (impecable for food), or if the sim is a Vampire or a Mermaid. So, you can actually die from all other qualities, but the chance is really low unless you're in a bad mood or have the fear of death trait.

i didn't realize that, with certain deaths, sims would stay sitting down when they died? i've always seen them stand up first before doing their dying animation. i've been playing since release and have never seen it before today, that's crazy.

The way to stop Eleanor Sullivan from calling you call the time is to remove her "hidden" trait that has her name in it using the MC Command Center. It will stop the calls. You can add that trait to other Sims and they'll start calling you to do a stay over for your kids.

I play rotationally and I've noticed lots of some with food stall lunch began in their inventory. I think what's happening here is they're buying it but not eating it, if you play as them they'll probably have the puffer fish in their inventory. Probably a weird bug

I'm pretty sure the pufferfish death rate also depends on the mood of the sim eating it. If they're in a bad mood, then they're more likely to die. You could see in the conversation icons at the top of the screen that Eric Lewis was tense and Summer Holiday was embarrassed when they each died.

Oh yeah, one of the things I have found testing pufferfish nigiri is that rotten pufferfish will almost always kill. When in doubt, rotten trout -I mean pufferfish.

Poor quality Pufferfish only has a 3% of killing a sim, it has extra chance (0.3*6=18%) if they are in bad mood. Given that all your customers also got "Fear of Death" after the first buy (That's why they ran away), they get another *3 multiplier, for a total of 54% chance to kill them, but only if they were in a bad mood. It's only 0 if the food is impeccable. So, from normal to excellent you still have 0.5% chance of Dying.

Every time I visited the Landgraabs and they had an infant, they NEVER tended the baby. Plus, the door to the nursery was locked, so I couldn't go feed the child when it was starving. They NEVER did anything, and the infant was always taken away by CPS. That's why *I* hate them.

Funny story I had a dinner party similair to what simsies done in the past and accidentally found out child sims can die of pufferfish. I thought children would be immune but apparently not, this was awhile ago in march and I'm not sure if its been patched or not😅
