And before any Muslims say, "Well, the Bible has numerous variations, how can you criticize the Quran!" Remember: A) Even IF the Bible were horribly corrupted, (it's not) that would not prove anything about the Quran. B) Christians do not claim perfect preservation, so we have nothing to prove. We believe the Bible was written by MEN inspired by God. Muslims are the ones that claim their scripture was dictated to Muhammed by God via Jibril. C) Christians have access to each generation of ancient manuscripts so that we can test modern versions against them. We know where variations exist and can compare them to older manuscripts. Our Book, that we don't claim perfect transmission for, is more reliable than the Quran which DOES have textual variations (even though your preachers lie that it doesn't) but you have no way to test these variations because your leaders have burned or misplaced the ancient manuscripts.
@samuelbarrett57014 жыл бұрын
not to mention that the manuscripts demonstrate our ability to reconstruct the original - which only has 2% minor variation, showing amazing preservation. The Bible is historically trustworthy and morally superior when compared to the Quran and always will be.
@jxcess38914 жыл бұрын
The Bible is a collection of books compiled and transmitted by the Church from generation to generation as a single historical document. There are over 31,000 verses in the Bible and only 40 of them are in dispute. That's less than 1% of the total corpus. That in itself is a miracle. Every historical document will have inconsistencies in them because they are preserved by men. Even the koooran that mohemadans claim to have been perfectly preserved has thousands of variants in its manuscripts. I haven't come across a single academician, historian or research scholar who has said that the koooran has been perfectly preserved. I have challenged many mohemadans to name me one such reputed scholar but none have succeeded.

@AKIVE Islam is an intellectual coffin; Muslims are forbidden to think [s 33.36].
@fobbyjose71614 жыл бұрын
@AKIVE Those are classical attempts of revising a narrative from without. The narrative becomes more trustworthy when the original locations of both are identified. Both the shifts were instigated by the Caliph in whom vested both the temporal and spiritual leadership of the ummah .The first shift was a reaction to an uprising that demanded that Masjidul Haram be the capital of political Islam as well and violently opposed shifting it to the more convenient Damascus. The Caliphate solved the problem through a series of moves during a lengthy civil war by the end of which it was relocated to a place that was conveniently remote such that it could never aspire to dethrone Damascus ! Having discovered the political benefits of historical translocation ,the Caliphate played the same trick with translocation of Al Aqsa to add prestige to itself and declare Islam's suzerainty over Christianity and Judaism at the very heart of their religious geography !
@fobbyjose71614 жыл бұрын
The fun fact is that the translocations that worked so well for the religion for centuries have outlived their shelf life and dangerously work in the direction opposite to what they were intended for . The discovery of oil in the region have given the guardians of the present Al -Masjid Al-Haram unimaginable clout. Seeing the present Mecca will you be able to imagine that this is the same place that lived it's days in as late as the early decades of the 20 th century on such mundane handouts as chairs and tables from distant empires such as Hyderabad? (All the Caliphates with their capitals elsewhere meant to keep matters that way till qayamat day .)Today the spiritual centre once again aspires to be the political centre too ! The upheavals and uprisings wherever Islam is present around the world is a reflection of this reborn Islamic civil war .To blame it on outside forces is wrong and irresponsible.

And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours, Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses. Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself. Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her. - Bible : Ezekiel (23) : 5 - 8. And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms. She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men. Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way, And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion, Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity: And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea. And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them. So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her, like as my mind was alienated from her sister. Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt. For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses. Thus thou calledst to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats by the Egyptians for the paps of thy youth. - Bible : Ezekiel (23) : 11 - 21.

Uthman could only recover 73 verses? That's an extremely charitable interpretation, considering their reciters still lived. The more likely interpretation is Uthman simply eliminated verses he didn't like. Did Uthman also order the murder of people who recited the "missing" verses, as he ordered the destruction of them in written form?

I watched the whole video! Great questions from the material. Another I would like to add is: Why did Uthman burn other dialects of the Quran? According to Muslims the answer to variants in the Quran is the various qira'at (readings). Supposedly Allah revealed the Quran to Muhammad in 7 different ways (ie dialects). Uthman would have been burning variant readings sent by Allah!
@ReasonedAnswers4 жыл бұрын
Good question. 7 "different dialects" which somehow existed before the diacritical marks were added to Arabic, no less.
@IslamCritiqued4 жыл бұрын
The 7 readings weren't canonized until the 10th century. This was forced because of...what was it...oh yeah. VARIANTS IN THE QURANS.

Surah 85.21 & 22 is about as close as I could find to the "preserved tablet". It seems to be in competition with the tablets Moses brought down from the mountain, but when Muhammad emerged from that cave in Hira, he had no tablet, only a great fear that he'd encountered a demon.

If you don’t mind, I will repeat my comment posted on Pfander films a few hours ago. Given the fragmentation of original material, how many of these originate from 6th century Christianity? And then got later on completely deformed, misunderstood and reinterpreted ( adding diacritics happened much later often leading to complete new meanings). For instance the many wives of Muhamed: what if the original intent was related to the many brides (believers) of the bridegroom ( Jesus)? The abolition of adoption in the Quran? What if this was a rejection of this core Christian principle ( the adoption into Sonship, into the body of Christ). Can it be linked to the doctrine of some of these monotheistic splinter groups of early Christianity in the region? I’m sure there are many more.

No, his material is widely available. I don't see any need to comment on it. For me personally, it's a closed case. If you take the geography in the Quran and Hadith seriously, as well as the archeology, the evidence for Petra is overwhelming.

Dan Gibson has done sterling work there. Professor Tom Holland was an atheist who investigated the archaeological evidence for the foundation of Islam. He searched scripts, historical accounts, etc.. And then he wrote "In the shadow of the Sword". For him, this became personally life changing because.... He returned to the Church of England. His latest book concerns St. Paul, and his role in history - a book which counters one of the obsessions in Islamic teaching. A case of an atheist studying Islam and becomming a fervent Christian as a result.

Watched the entire vid! And not a Muslim: but I did have an interesting thought. In the back-and-forth between Christian or Atheistic apologetics channels (atheists may not prefer the term 'apologetics' for their defense of their belief, but it's not to demean whatsoever), I tend to see some level of resistance. 'Here's what you said, here's why I think you're wrong, here's some research why I think that,' etc. Mistakes can be made, of course, but it seems like a good-faith attempt even if one or more parties are misunderstanding either the argument or their answer to it. Thinking of the recent back-'n-forth between Paulogia and Cameron when I type the above, for example. This doesn't seem to happen with Islamic apologetics, does it? Not even the token effort of research: just a bare-bones deflection, if anything. (Or a copy-paste from some random website without even reading the text or watching the vid you're posting it on, but come now) And the thing is: all you're doing is showing them Islamic history. Keep simply digging up Islam's history and shining a light on it. The stench coming off of it will hopefully continue to drive more folks away from it and into the light of truth. Keep it up: been praying for ya.
@ReasonedAnswers4 жыл бұрын
_"This doesn't seem to happen with Islamic apologetics, does it? "_ Correct. Islam is all about authority, so Islamic "apologetics" mostly focuses on attacking the person (not a scholar, doesn't know Arabic, etc) instead of the argument. Only a tiny, tiny percentage put any real effort in and the rest just copy and paste that.

Some of redactions we're also done to the KJV Bible by the Vatican. Not surprised the Quran had the same issue. Not including texts/ books 📚. Changing the constitutional skeleton of certain words can change an entire message. Good work brother. There are some principles that base a way of thinking/being. Some things are needed, some aren't. IMO that really kind of destroys the timeline of why? It's like having a history of war, peace and land treaties. You figure out what was done and why. How the issues were reconciled or not at all. Who was the antagonist or protagonist. Who was the peace keeper or mediators. Track record. That's why even when you have the most idiotic events in history....there is always a reason or sense of dynamics in the time to reflect on. Gives depth. If you add up treaties and cross reference other countries it makes a difference. No matter how good or bad. Quran Talmud Torah Tafid Dhamapadda Bhramavad Gita Mahabharat Veda Jubilees Apocryphas Maccabees etc. Not disincluding the KJV Bible but there is history prior to it. B.C. Most of manuscripts and documents paved "the way". Requirements in reading. Example: Comprehension of Gaza's recent incidents was easy. Land treaties dispute. A country primarily living in really old testament and parts living Jewish/Yiddish Kabbalah and Talmud. Big differences. Palestinians dress like Mary of Magdalene. Jewish and Muslims amongst Christians. Time traveling just going to the country. Sociological differences don't work there. They aren't based on economic and clothing. It's all tribal lineage(tribes of men/women) based on holy texts. They are just looking at the bigger picture a little too closely without stepping back. Muslims are technically Christians. Rabbi's and the Jewish forget Moses wrote most the books. There are parts of Quran in the KJV Bible. Same with the Talmud/Torah. Jesus had to study all of it.... prior to KJV Bible construction. Abdullah in Cave Yemen. Prophet Muhammad in Cave Hira studying with Jibril/Gabriel for 40 years. Jesus in Cave Bethlehem. Seeing the pattern? Have to recognize each books details in bringing up people. Critiques in ways of life. Fine tuning spiritual warfare. Christ had to pilgrimage every where so there are reminence of Persia, Asia and the Middle east. Studying spiritual warfare you go where the talent is and learn from the best or their pupils. Principals help you manage contradictions or situational dynamics. Even if they are completely against you (dynamics). The multiple accounts about the collections and recensions of the Koran are mutually incompatible, so the likelihood of any version of the recension being correct is not credible. The various versions of the recension are superseded by a letter by Abd al Malik who claimed 'I collected the Koran'. The Standard Islamic narrative is contradictory and seems very unreliable.
