I respect that he has an opinion. I think that's very important. I agree with Captain Jones that we should try to stop thinking in binary, left or right, black/ white etc. Reality isn't like that unless you're a computer and we aren't. Yet. No you make a good point. Metal and punk were started by adolescents who wanted to reject and be the opposite of the “corporate world” or whatever and he’s still got that mindset even though it technically doesn’t make a lot of sense on his part since his band is on a record label and that’s how he makes a living. Same can be said for bands like Rage against the machine (puke). But I guess it wouldn’t be “cool” or “metal” if he went up there talking about how great capitalism or the government is or about how borders are technically needed and the thought of not having them is insane lol. Maybe it’s an act. Idk.

I grew up in the 80's thrash metal and hardcore punk scene, and we all HATED Republicans and conservatives with a passion, because they were middle-aged old-fashioned greedy war-mongering fascists who were anti-porn, anti-drugs, and anti-rock 'n' roll and pro-police, pro-military, and pro-Christian fundamentalism. Conservatism stands against rebelliousness and individuality and is all for conformity and out-dated traditions - in other words, the antithesis of everything that punk and metal represent. I don't know when it became popular for metal fans to be conservatives, but it's totally wack.
