Very enjoyable and educational video. Nice to see these fades performed with detachable blades. Great job! I use the complete Oster detachable blade clipper system as well. I have the full range of Oster blades and guards. This gives me great flexibility in blade sizes. The “a” blades add the perfect increment to the other Oster clipper blades. As well the Oster plastic guards give an additional increment. Currently I am using the Oster Octane to drive the high quality Oster blades.
@rickatkinson10006 жыл бұрын
SCRAFT BLENDZ I use the Oster brand plastic guards. These guards fit on the detachable metal Oster blades for Octane, Classic 76, Titan etc and Fast Feed adjustable blade(s)very snugly. Some people suggest the Andis magnetic plastic guards but I have found they fit a little loose. The magnets are pretty strong but the plastic guards can fall off. The Oster plastic guards are made of a hard plastic and metal spring loaded clips. This make for a nice tight fit. My only complaint is that sometimes when applying the Oster guards on the Octane, the detachable blade can shift forward slightly. This occurs when applying the plastic guard over the detachable blade while running. This does not occur with the 76 and Titan clippers. This problem is eliminated with a bit of practice and technique however. The plastic guards are available as single sizes or in a pack of 8. One final note: I use the lower number plastic guards #4 - #1 on clients with acute occipital structure (boys and seniors) as I find that by doing so allows for a smoother taper than using bare metal blades alone.

0A is equivalent to Andis Master halfway open...maybe for those cheap Wahl clippers it's the whole blade open. A "1" is the equivalent of Andis Master fully opened.

Wahl lever doesn't open as much as a master or fast feed so you are correct and he is correct. That's why you don't need a 1.5 guard for fast feeds or Masters but you do with the wahm

Oster or Andis is best. As for Wahl don't waste your money.

The Wahl Legends open up much wider than the other Wahl clippers but you are correct about the other Wahl clippers. I was all Wahl for the longest time but I noticed for quite a few years now I gravitated to detachable blades as well as the Oster Fast Feeds.

Nice video 👌🏾 but I feel like the equivalent from the blades to the wahls are a bit off that’s y I’m getting a lil confused sometimes while your explaining. I’m being taught that a ‘1’ blade is a wahl clipper Open. Halfway is the ‘0A’ blade & closed is ‘000’ Like u mentioned. Then ‘1 1/4’ is a wahl half guard closed. Then the “1A” blade is a wahl half guard open. Then ‘1 1/2’ blade is the 1guard open etc etc ...... but The fade down method is something I may need to start trying.

The barbershop I work at only allows detachable blades. Which I feel limits my abilities in a way. Right now I'm using Andis Bgr + love em . I use the Oster Octanes also BUT they are noisey as all hell. Take the same blade and put it on the Andis and Soo quiet.I think for $300 I paid for the Octanes Oster could've should've made the damn things quieter. I'm so done with Oster. Waste of three bills 285 to exact. If you like quieter clippers DONT get the Octanes... Believe me your clients will be happier without that noise in their ears. Lol and so will your co-workers.!! Nice fade by the way.

the make yall do razor fades with them to thats crazy
@BobaDavis5 жыл бұрын
It really does limit you. A fade with detachable clippers will work on some types of hair, but not all of them. Most types of hair require an adjustable, because you need to be able to get in between blade sizes. Detachable blades also limit the types of fade blends that you can do.

3:51 Great Video! Welcome to what some barbers call the "Dark Side" of barbering (using detachable clippers). I too had issues with the 3 1/2 so I switched to using the 4FC blade. This was originally meant for pets but a local pet groomer told me that her barber/boyfriend made this same switch and noticed more thorough/smooth cuts.
