When I was 10 years old my uncle worked for Mcdonald Douglas in Santa Monica CA. I asked my uncle why can't they make a plain that will separate and save the people aboard. He told me that it was to expensive. And technology was not up to par .I'm glad to see they finally can do this . I should have went to work for the development department in engineering. My uncle said your idea was great. I'm now 64 years old .

For those who think the pilots are just fucked in the situation... they aren't. The inventors plan is that the button that ejects the passager compartment isn't instant. The video didn't illustrate this well, but the pilot will have enough time to join the passanger compartment before it's ejected

hello? can anyone please acknowledge physics here? skydiving planes have opening doors and those plane fly at low altitude where air pressure is high. therefore we can open a door on those planes. but on passenger commercial planes which fly at high altitude its nearly impossible to open a door because air pressure and air resistance is lower and therefore the speed of the plane can and would be much higher. in addition to that even if you COULD OPEN THE DOOR there would be no reason to jump out because of the planes speed, and even if you do you are more likely to hit the plane itself after jumping out. therefore giving you serious injuries or even instant death. you'd be dead before you even hit the ground. and ejection seats still cause al lot of injury and even death in some cases. due to this they are only implemented on fighter jets. only pilots with very strong health and mental mindset can fly a true fighter jet.

This is a super good idea, although there are a few problems. Most planes are underwing, but this system is designed for overhanging wings like the ATR-172. Secondly, It needs to include the pilot as well, or all airlines will have a big shortage of pilots. Plus, Don't pilots also deserve a chance to live? Finally, even though they will have advanced parachutes, the landing impact will be too hard and therefore, result in an accident with even more devastation. Also, parachutes are not provided because of air pressure and the worry that a passenger will hit the main or tail wings (and possibly the inside of the engine.) So that's my opinion of this plane (please include the pilots!) and also please click this cuz I've been working on this for a long time! 👇

The pilots would be the easiest to save. Military aircraft have zero/zero ejection seats. Meaning that a rocket attached to the seat can send them high enough into the air, even sitting on the runway, for the parachute to deploy. So no problem at take off or landing. Not sure how the same could be done for the cabin, though. Unless every seat were an ejection seat and the roof of the cabin was rigged to blow off.

It is a huge endeavor for a very small risk. Your odds of dying in a car crash are over 1000 times greater than dying in a commercial aircraft. Aviation experts laugh at this idea.

And plane crashes midair are usually damage the fuselage. The video is wrong anyways because around 90.000 people died in plane crashes since 1970, and all of the failires are corrected. Since 2020, there were around 600 people who lost their lives due to plane crashes. In 2023 for example, there were 0 out of 32 million flights. So it would be very expensive and literally useless.

This is so good 👍. I think the department of airline engineering should also consider the remaining part of the plane that is already damaged. It should not fell on busy areas where it may harm human beings, there should be something that magnet the damaged body with bare grounds. Meaning it should only fell on places were there are no people. For example in every place were there are human beings there is likely to be something attached to technology, maybe the plane must sense bare grounds to fell on or even sense water to fell on meaning in everywhere there are man made creatures the plan must have sensers to avoid such places and the plane senser should only break or malfunction if the crash has occurred. This is now the world of technology. Nothing is impossible with engineers. Find me if you are willing to implement this.

That's an understandable statement from the view of a passenger but pilots it's their job if a plane is going down to try to save it and write it down to the end so that it lands in unpopulated territory and doesn't harm anybody else. If the pilots leave, then the plane could crash and hurt more people. So it's important for the pilots to stay on board until it hits the ground

EASY ANSWER: The single overriding factor for all important fuel economy is weight. This new design would require systems and structures which will add weight to the aircraft. Airlines prefer additional weight be in the form of additional cargo, seats & passengers which generates additional revenue.

The airframe is too weak with all these parachutes and attachment bolts, so plane like this won't able to make sharp turns and fly as fast as modern planes. Also in emergency situation every second matter, so what if pilot isn't fast enough to press the button? Then, if plane is too low or too high, too fast or too slow, parachutes are useless. They need specific height and speed to open. Don't forget about additional weight of this thing. So this whole idea is just silly and never will reach commercial market.
