I have been following the tiny house concept for about 4 years now. There are a lot of very stupid ideas out there. I have to say, in 4 years of research and concepts, this is one of the most brilliant ideas I have ever seen. I've been wondering if anyone was ever going to do this. I am a huge fan of simplicity and the engineering of this is so simple and basic, it's pure genius. Bravo. Excellent work.

I totally agree!!! This would make a joint buy of a trailer a good investment. When your settled with your tiny house, someone else can use the joint-trailer for any moving.

Or if you had more than one tiny house....one trailer fits all

People use Wechselbrücken here in Germany in the same way: they are just a platform with removeable/foldable legs with or without hard/soft sides used to carry anything. They exist worldwide I'm sure. Buy a used one cheap, build on it, then just hire a truck to haul it. Dead easy, and insanely cheaper than a custom trailer and house platform as in this video. I can get one for €400, and the weight capacity is beyond anything you would ever need for a tiny house. The combo in the video would cost you €15k or more here. I asked one trailer maker for a quote. Only issue is they sit about 1 meter high, so height of your build is limited. I'm making a removeable roof to get around that. Worth it to save at least €14,600. :)

This has got to be the smartest idea for a trailer I've seen!! You can utilize the trailer again and again for other builds and transporting of other houses. So smart!!!

can you have it permanently on the jack stands and then just have the trailer sitting freely or does it have to have either the trailer or proper foundations? Cheers
@maurvel84446 жыл бұрын
You would have to counter strong winds, if it´s sitting on 4 jacks that can easely take the down force when you add in wind the weight shifts from only down force to sideways and swinging from side to side Im betting the jacks would eventually fail with catastropic results. I´m a welder/iron worker and live in Iceland and would newer jack my future tiny house off the trailer in gusty winds nor let it sit on these legs..

@@ginamariestevens i know they meet specifications im saying in real world applications those look like they would fail to provide lasting stability. I've seen out riggers for cranes with cracks along the welds that are much sturdier than those trailers jacks
@ginamariestevens4 жыл бұрын
@@happylife174 We can assure you they are fit for purpose. They are for intermittent use, for levelling the house when first parked, and jacking the house up and off the trailer when required, they are not there to provide 'lasting stability'. Tiny homes are temporary by their very nature, and move often. For more permanent siting, the Jacks are not used whatsoever. They are simply a lifting and levelling tool. Thanks
