Volstrukt really needs to change their website. I don't want to fill out any forms. my goodness. I just want to know the options and a rough price.
@Volstrukt6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion! We have a wide range of models to start with, yet almost all of our projects are custom-tailored to our customers' needs. The project can include various design services, a trailer (for tiny homes on wheels), anchoring hardware and fasteners, sheathing, assembly labor (varies by location), and or custom finishes. That combined with the everchanging cost in construction materials makes it very difficult for us to keep updating pricing online. The cost of steel, hardware, sheathing, labor, and shipping can vary week to week so we do our best to provide the most accurate pricing we can when you're ready to start your project.
@brittanyreaves39834 жыл бұрын
Never Gonnatell there isnt a rough cost when they do custom jobs. Every project is different. They aren't gonna have a "rough" estimate unless they have some idea of the project your planning to build

How is thermal bridging compared to a wood frame structure of the same size?
@Volstrukt Жыл бұрын
We use rigid foam on the exterior of our frame kits to create a thermal break. The continuous insulation on the exterior and closed-cell spray foam in the wall cavity makes the ~200sqft unit exceed most states minimum R-Value requirements. The smaller tiny house spaces tend to get cooled or heated very quickly and maintain tempurature with minimal power usage. Thanks!
@willwilliams294426 күн бұрын
I love Volstrukts answer to this. Because breaking that thermal bridge with exterior insulation is definitely the way to go 100% If you don't break that thermal bridge your R value is cut in half. Atleast based on all of the studies I have seen although they are skewed imo.

@pepecorleone90216 жыл бұрын
+Kirsten Sanford I just went to their site it was easy to navigate each model listed in bold lettering, almost every model frame had roughly 12 pictures. Although im not a fan of filling stuff out to get a quote as a business owner I can see why they want your information upfront so that you're forced to come up with your side of the information before you get someone on the phone wasting half their day with clueless pontificating, plus it makes the quoting process much more accurate.. So essentially you'd toss to the side a great product simply because of a few minor obstacles?? Good luck on your build, because things get WAY harder than navigating a decently done website and filling out short questionnaires XD XD..

Can it be so light to be pull by a Toyota Corolla ??
@dre04mach6 жыл бұрын
You can probably make something out of 100 lb piece of carbon fiber wall light enough to be pulled by a corolla, but the wind resistance of any large trailer will push and pull that little car around like nobody's business. the aerodynamics of a big trailer like that are much harder to deal with than the weight of it. Imagine pulling a parachute going down the highway...
@pepecorleone90216 жыл бұрын
LOL!!! For a Corolla I wouldnt do anything bigger than a small teardrop trailer and even that might be a burden on that transmission and cause it to fail prematurely. One of the reasons I like buying trucks is that everything is built over spec, transmissions, differentials, driveshafts in the case of RWD. They do that because they always assume you're gonna be carrying more than the weight of the truck itself.. You really get what you pay for when you get a solid built truck although gas mileage usually suffers quite a bit.

That thin zinc coated stuff is NOT gonna last as long as you think! Cheaply made, and not made to last!
@Volstrukt6 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike! Saw you are a skoolie retrofitter which is AWESOME. If you are referring to the same stuff as on a bus, remember a bus is exposed to the elements nearly all of it's life, including salted roads which is a notorious metal destroyer (as I'm sure you know). So, our frames are built to last inside a wall. However we have several "test" frames out in the field right now with zero rust that have been exposed directly to the elements for over four years. I think we are dealing with apples and oranges, but I'd love to hear your response on this. Thanks!

If you were a real steal framer you would know that the walls are built in place. And not built on the ground then stood up
@erichbreckoff34056 жыл бұрын
I have to tell that to the guys down the road here, they do complete walls and deliver them to be assembled to houses elswhere!
@levigonzales38826 жыл бұрын
If you build it in place you wont have to do the work twice. That's the whole idea of steel framing. And you will not hurt yourself picking up the walls.
@erichbreckoff34056 жыл бұрын
The point is to install wiring, windows and panel in an convient way, for lifting the walls you assemble a crew for an brief moment (and the advantage of installing with the wall on the ground is big, work as much as quality wise)
