@LepantoRosary1571...What is Lepanto Rosary? I have heard this word before...
@tgbluewolf3 жыл бұрын
@@kittyblaine7917 Lepanto was a naval battle in 1571, when the (smaller) Holy League defeated the (larger) Ottoman Empire. The victory was attributed to God through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, as people all over Christendom had been praying the Rosary for the outcome of battle. This prompted Pope Pius V to institute the feast of Our Lady of Victory, now known as the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Not true. Anyone can keep prayer in their heart and follow Jesus in the way we behave and treat others every day. Detachment means emotional/spiritual detachment, not necessarily physical detachment. But you can physically detach as much as possible by taking TV & internet out of your home; spend your free time going to daily mass, or praying the rosary, or spiritual reading, participating in programs that help your fellow man. There are so many ways to surround ourselves with Godly things rather than worldly things.
@KyleOfCanada7 жыл бұрын
Hi Hans, If you don't mind my chiming in, I would really recommend that you read "The Story of Thomas More" by John Farrow. It is a biography of the saint which is very brief while also being accessible (as it is told as a story rather than as a dry list of events). In it, perhaps you will find an example of someone who lived in the world while clearly not being of the world. There are many examples and lessons of this as Thomas lived and navigated his private and the public affairs in a method of detachment. I found it quite inspiring in this regard and hopefully you will too. All the best & God bless, Kyle

I like this channel but... The woman talking in this video is wrong! ...when she says that this life is not for us to be happy... very wrong as she does not understand what true happiness or true joy is!! even in "unpleasant moments" we SHALL BE HAPPY! and we shall FEEL happy!!... agree that we need to work for the light of our spirit, but not in sadness because we feel some pain!!! wrong!! that is NOT Catholic and is NOT what GOD want us to be or to feel... I suggest you change your statement within this video as you are confusing people with that statement!! it is always better when a man, priest do the preaching!!
@jamesryanseneriches44646 жыл бұрын
Peace be with you. I agree with your statement that we will indeed feel true joy even in the midst of suffering, I will have to add however, that what Father meant in that statement is that the purpose of our life here on earth is not our own happiness per se, but it is to obey God's will. True joy and peace even in the midst of suffering is indeed one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit once we are in the state of grace, however, we must be careful not to totally rely on this consolation as one of the trials that God does in order for us to further advance in our spiritual life is to let us undergo "Dark Nights." Here, God withholds that gift from us, and He wills us to strengthen our holiness and to continue in obeying His will even without that sensation of consolation and joy. God Bless You!
