It's nice to see one of these extremely underappreciated Eldorado's. I initially thought you were wasting your time with this one but it held up pretty good, it doesn't take much neglect or damage to render one of them a parts car. The front end damage is worse than it looks, that will all need to be replaced to be perfect, it was for looks not protection. Mine got clipped by someone turning into it and catching the corner of the bumper only damaging the piece under the blinker, but it tweeked the entire bumper. I wish you the best of luck, these are great cars, but also very challenging as there is no aftermarket support and never was. The brakes could prove themselves to be your biggest challenge. I look forward to future videos.

Yeah, that massive hunk of iron and transaxle sitting square on the steering wheels had to be great fun to drive, maybe even a bit sporty 🤪 I bet the wheel horsepower was better than a slushbox, driveshaft, and differential weight holding it back. Had to be fun in the deeper snow, too.

Yeah, Eldos and Toronados were GM’s front wheel drive offerings. I had a ‘68 Toronado with the 400 horse 455 and it SMOKED the front tires. Introduced by Olds in 1966, it was the first modern era front wheel drive car. Cadillac followed in 1967 with the Eldorado .

Fellow detailer here.. To keep it simple and easy for you to source the product, you can use Super Clean diluted 10:1 [10 parts water 1 part concentrate] spray onto a microfiber towel and wrap around your steering wheel. It’ll clean it right up.

"It drove and rode nice but he wanted a newer one so he just parked that one." GEEZ! It amazes me how much money these farmers had that they could just 'park' a beautiful Cadillac in some barn for decades when they got a new one and not even think about it! Didn't trade it in, didn't sell it. Just 'parked' it. That's how I found my 1976 Fleetwood with only 38K original miles. When the owner got a new one, it was just parked in a pole barn for 30 years. Never started or ran. Same gas and tires from the 1980's, etc. Only mine was in near pristine condition because, of course, the pole barn was all enclosed.

If you restore please remove those added on rear marker lights that some “genius”. Added at some point. They look terrible. Seal up the holes and put a new vinyl top on. I believe the correct grain for this year/model was called Tuxedo grain.
@wilsixone7 ай бұрын
Man, he doesn't fool around detailing does he? I'm a little surprised he uses a wheel that spins that fast, but it worked. Chemicals I guess. The car is pretty nice. A decent way to present it if he's tryna sell it. Sometimes cleaned up is better. It's a good start for a restoration and all the body panels look str8 and rust-free which is amazing. I don't get that roof-mounted Cadillac wreath. WTF is that?? Weird. Nice interior too. Anybody note the original mileage on the odo??? It can't be much, they made them to wear out fast back then and the interiors look pretty ratty typically over 100K. So I think it's significantly lower than that. Guy Dane does a nice job, like to see more of his work. I'll subscribe and see what else he comes up with 😉

Please, do not do burnouts with this car. I know it can be tempting. That must be the 500 CID V8 with the W-34 engine option which makes it go up to 400HP. The owner said it had that horsepower rating, btw. With the 8.2 litres badge I can tell it's a '70 model, also.
@anthonybianchini51447 ай бұрын
W-34 is an 455 engine code for the Oldsmobile Toronado. This Cadillac 500CID/400HP is the standard engine in every 1970 Eldorado.
@IvoPoblete7 ай бұрын
@@anthonybianchini5144 Yes, you're right. I got sidetracked by that 400HP rating the owner mentioned. So did the 8.2 litre for '70 got as standard that horsepower number??

Generations of building, saving, caring and fighting for the territory with other squirrels only for it to be vacuumed up, erasing every trace of their existence and putting their home into someone else’s hands with no one to remember them. I’ll remember them.
