I try to start with a basic shell blueprint for each of the staff buildings in the style I've decided on when I start a zoo, less to save time and more to keep myself from wandering away from the original design concept halfway through or getting bogged down in regional theming elements.

I rarely use the glass panels for viewing galleries. I just use the glass barrier and put the framing elements on that. Your use of two types of rocks look really good!
