In this video, we build the CFX-W Crawler from MST. Let's see how well this kit goes together and if it's something worth spending your hard-earned money on. We know it's a stunning looking 4x4 but is it beauty only skin deep or can it back up its looks with quality parts, performance and precision construction?

I love your new content, love the Tamiya stuff of course, but branching out into other brands is a great move. The production of your videos has really stepped up in quality, and these build series videos are fantastic. The comments during the time lapse assembly is excellent, and the suggested upgrades are a great touch. Thank you for the excellent content, and yes the Hobbywing Fusion is going to be great! I use them on my Redcat Gen II and Axial UMG.

Some manufacturers plastic driveshafts are fine. The TRX4 is one that has great plastic ones. From what I see more people break the metal after market ones than the stock TRX4 ones. I’m not sure about the MST though

Big MST drift car chassis fan for years, but for my SoCal comp crawlers I’m just using this awesome looking body.....without the heavy plastic bed bits......too many power wagons around here😎

Hi m8 I do lot trail n rock crawlers rc the plastic rod ends r better as u don’t get as much play in them plus u need a weak point to break n cheep to replace like u do with alloy 1s the canterleaver shocks u can get for less than £30 all links u can get any othere to match the length I like the way they got double gears in the portal it’s lookin good so far m8 👍👍👍

Nice built video, Gavin. Can't believe someone who's built hundreds of kits doesn't use a small cordless screwdriver. LOL You turn every screw by hand! My first jump into MST will likely be their CFX DC1 coming out soon.

Great review of the build. Are the chassis rails well packaged? Last kit I had (a different make) , the rails were loose in the box and were bent.

Rails came in a bag like the rear of the parts. The rails are flat under the kit in the box. No issues in mine

As a novice what recommendations would you give relating to the manufacturers product codes of parts required to complete the kit. I noticed the HPI 55T motor for starters. Brushed or brushless motor Brushed or brushless Esc STD size profile steering servo Transmitter/Controller Receiver Batteries

@@RCKickschannel Thank you for the response 😀 Sorry I explained myself badly. I am looking for recommendations for the ESC, servo, transmitter controller, receiver and battery. I am a bit confused with all the options available at the min. So thought matching what you have used would be a sensible route as I build up my experience level.

I don't know why the manufactures divorce the transfer case from the transmission??? This is not scale when everything else is looking so nice

How did the hands go driving all those hex heads Gav? I find the crawlers and anything above 1/10, non Tamiya plastics, kits quite taxing on the hands and wrists. Could be just old age 🤣 I use a little cheap Orzito 3.7V cordless drill a dream. It works nice at just the right speed, with an adjustable torque setting. I drive the screw 90% then nip it up by hand for the last 10%. Best $30 I’ve spent. Also be careful with your skin you maybe starting to build an intolerance to some of the products. Petroleum based products and paints are notoriously really bad for your immune system.

Gavin you have been in the hobby long enough now to know how to set up slippers gear mesh and orientation of manuals . Not to mention screw sizes. Your first list of things to point out is100@% a goof on you period. Not the kit

Looks awfully overpriced to me given the plastic drive shafts and all the sintered metal gears. Struggle to sell myself on sintered gears. Especially since I recently had to replace both gear boxes in one of my tanks, upgraded to machined steel. Overall it seems very inline, parts quality wise, with current Gmade models, but they are much more affordable.

Have you ever thought about doing a voice over explaining what you are doing instead of just playing loud horrible music over every piece of video? It might actually be really helpful to beginners or someone who has never built whatever type of vehicle you are building.
