Great job on the video! I really enjoyed the comparison. I owned a 2016 Tesla Model X 90D, and let me tell you, that car gave me the blues with all the costly out-of-warranty repairs. From the mirror motor to the squeaky front suspension caused by not enough factory grease, and even the wheel fairing separating from the car in a car wash - it was one thing after another. The falcon door sensor misbehaving and needing a reset, and the center glass between the falcon doors blowing off on the highway without me knowing until I got home - it was quite the adventure. Not to mention the AC compressor going bad and the fact that cracked two ‘22 wheels at a whopping $2100 per wheel, not to mention needing new tires. Phew! Surprise! I still really miss my Model X, even though I sold it and bought an ‘18 BMW Alpina and added a ‘22 Ford F150 Raptor to my car collection. I miss my Tesla so much that I went for a test drive of the Model S two days ago, and confirmed I am still a Model X guy. I'm ready to get another X. Your comparison review has convinced me - it's time to plan for a 2023-24 Model X again. Also, watching the improvements and changes to the newer 2023 Model X was really exciting. Thanks for the great video!

My answer for why I ordered the Plaid X: - Don’t like the wood grain look - Wanted 6 seat configuration for 2 kids - At that point it makes sense to pay the extra ~$8,500 for the extra performance.
@Driven-Productions Жыл бұрын
Plaid was a solid deal, really if you didn’t care about the tax credit and/or needed the 6 seats, no reason not to upgrade to it. For me, having had the P100D for many years, I’d rather have the range. And watch the launch in this review this car is still very fast hits 60 in the mid 3’s… was the most surprising part about the new Tesla Model X Long Range for me.

Keeping your suspension at LOW creates the camber that allows for a more performance centric handling. The older Model Xs have a way to set your suspension levels. I had mine set to STANDARD until it hits 80mph then have it go to LOW.

For the record, the 21-24 MS LR is running the 1/4 mile at 10.6@130mph which is faster than the P100D and the Model S Performance. Unfortunately, Tesla neutered the 0-60 to 2.9 seconds but it feels like it could easily do 2.5 seconds. The same performance translates to the X as the motors are the same.

The rear tire wear is similar to the wear on the Model S with the 21s. This flaw/ failure of design is 1000% on Tesla. The tire wear on the S with the 21’s does not exist with the standard 19’s. Can’t speak to the 20’s on the X. Tesla should offer an adjustable rear camber. Tesla needs to take responsibility for this unnecessary and unsafe tire wear. Their design flaw has been solved by aftermarket companies which should embarrass Tesla. I know the Tesla fanboys don’t care….more money than sense. I guess someone has to be seriously injured or killed, or someone in senior Tesla management needs to get stranded in the middle nowhere for something to change. Tesla had the opportunity to change the car world, but they failed. They put and keep their customers service too far down the priority list.
