My 2021 Spyder is a higher spec than this. Has Pepita seat inserts, PCCB, multfunction wheel, LWB, Burmeister, Front lift kit, Black aluminum, black painted calipers, painted roll hoops, painted headlight washers, alcantara visors, leather inner door sills, PDLS+, and much more. Super high spec. In fact, the only options it doesn't have really is the leather fuse box covers. So, with the combination of LWB, PCCP and Burmeister, Porsche confirmed it's 1:1 in the world. Don't think $225k is where my car would sell. I'm thinking closer to $200k. The window sticker you showed said $125k which is more like it; my MSRP was $141k which is about as high as you can go without doing PTS or Sonderwunsch. The ADM of $100k is not something that you could likely recoup now. So I honestly don't think you're even close to $225k for this car. More like $140k.

I got to drive one of these earlier this summer. I was worried it was going to suck getting back into my S2000 afterwards but... it didn't. I think about 80% of it is the gearing (it's geared WAY too tall, I think the top of second is like 86mph) but the other 20% was that for a quick back road rip, it's just too competent and fast to have reasonable fun in. In the S2000 I can explore some loss of grip and wind out the engine and crack a bunch of incredibly enjoyable shifts. In the Spyder you barely shift and the limits of the car are so high you're only pushing them while going straight- to-jail level speeds.

There is a story on the internet about a girl who had a Japanese car but her brother crashed it, so she went out and bought a Mercedes and HATED IT! She couldn't wait to get rid of it and to go back to buying a Japanese car. Besides the $1000 car payment, she had many issues with the car, like the infotainment system going black, and the door not opening. I had a friend who owned a Volkswagen and he had major electrical problems with the car, he listed off about five things, not one thing, FIVE THINGS, that went wrong with the electrical part of the car. One of which was the window not going all of the way up - imagine that happening in the winter time?? Now, I am sick of weak Asian cars - made by weak little Asian men (that's their mentality), the new Acura MDX still has only 280 HP? 280 HP in 2024? Same as in 2005? The Toyota Camry still only has 306 horses? However, these cars are RELIABLE, the screen doesn't go black, people don't complain about the door not opening. Mechanical problems, "you don't want to own it after the warranty runs out". That statement says it all. I'm sick of little wimpy Asian cars, but what is going on with European and British cars are borderline TERRIBLE. Own one of these if you can afford a second "fun" car, but if you can only afford one car - you're stupid if you don't buy a Honda or a Toyota.

@@Driven-Productions BTW, there are other dealers that also don't charge above MSRP but they make it more complicated than simply picking their favorite customers for the allocations. Some dealers have hoops you need to jump through, like purchase 5 non-GT cars first, service only with them, be a resident of that state, register in that state, give them right of first refusal when you sell it. Stuff like that. Other dealers, like my Spyder RS dealer, don't have those conditions. They simply pick their favorite customers for allocations. I got pulled over for taking a right-hand corner at a four-way stop without stopping first! In my defense, I was in an industrial area with no cars around, so I figured it was safe. The Miata handles like a dream-so stable and responsive that it practically begs you to take corners at speed. Honestly, driving a soft-top Miata is about as close to the thrill of riding a motorcycle as you can get with four wheels beneath you! Now, just imagine if Mazda installed their amazing new straight-six internal combustion engine in the Miata and paired it with a manual transmission… that would be game over for all other low- to mid-range sports cars!
