As requested by Demon, I've put together a kind of tutorial for the A01-enthusiasts to drool over. Song: Really?

Nice guide, very interesting to see how technical the game is at the highest levels of play

This is also a veeeery easy map. If you would do the same in-depth analysis of a 30 sec Tech map say (no sane person would do this) , the video length could exceed 1 hour xD

Rollin Storm, please comment back if you can. This tutorial is great. Very well made! That ending message, true TM fan and memer. :) People forgot about this game, leaving only okay players and true hardcore sweaty skilled gamers. I'm an ok player (got nadeo medal on all nadeo TMNF maps except E05 where I never made more than 20 laps) but I like to watch others do their incredible WRs and amazing cuts and bugs. As you said in the Worldrecord Hunting: A02-Race video's description: "Will it ever be done? I highly doubt it, but that's the beauty of Trackmania: It can be done theoretically." That's my thought. But actually, who knows, maybe one day... One thing I have always wondered was, TrackMania is old, but there's no known cheat to make fake replays with slow motion programs (like frame by frame, auto key hold for x milliseconds, copy a part of other replays to your own and improve only a part, etc) or anything like that. What type of security does the record sites and game replays have to prevent that from happening?
@rollintm7 жыл бұрын
If you made a bot or something which would emulate the player's inputs and perfected them long enough you could theoretically drive WRs without the need for much skill. Why hasn't it been done yet? It would probably take weeks of hard work to get a good enough input combination through trial and error. Where's the fun in that? I only play TM because I like the hunting aspect of it. Slowmo wouldn't really be a benefit in my opinion. Sure, you can react faster, but if you input something the car also reacts slower. If you hunted a map long enough you don't really need to react, you already know how much your finger has to push to make the turn etc. I don't even know if you can copy parts of a replay and improve upon it. You'd need to derive inputs only from visual data of the replay. Then you'd have to somehow play them and switch to manual driving mid-race. No freaking clue how that'd be possible tbh.

Well. I only played TMNF at school casually with a friend on a laptop and have long since stopped, but I do still enjoy watching TrackMania videos once in a while. I don't use this YT account anymore and will probably forget the credentials at some point. I just felt like sharing some thoughts now in the future of these old past comments. It's entertaining to watch these new TAS videos from many different channels now that the security patch was created and the tool has been released to public for anyone to use. I'm glad that happened. Hmm, what else did I wanted to mention... I don't know. Uhm. I noticed that Wirtual's channel has been growing and attracting new people to watch or play the game for their first time, that's nice. I watched his video about Riolu and others cheating, kind of curious to see if he will come back or say something at some point. What else... Oh, I'm still waiting to see the 100k replays video project from L4Bomb4, DaniXks and others. I think it's still being made/rendered/whatnot. I would also like to see new videos from Nino Snarzz again, they were awesome to watch back in the day. Anyway, hope everything is going well with you

Am I supposed to hold the gas pedal even in the first jump? If I go full throttle I tend to fly over, but if I let go the pedal even a little bit, there is a significant speed loss. I know I am doing something wrong, but I don´t know what.
@simpson67003 жыл бұрын
you're supposed to let go of the gas before the jump for a split second, as not holding down the gas in the air results in a major slow down.

Started a01 last night. Grinded an hour and half on it. Got down to 24:38 but couldn't go any lower. Here to learn about the first jump trick and speedslide
@niccster10612 жыл бұрын
7 months late but my big tip. Dont speed slide. You can probably get a solid 24.10 before even needing to speedslide. Focus on fundamentals like the start jump and the two turns after it

@@OZY_TMcan and should are 2 very different things. Imo it is quite hard to get a sub 24.10 without speed slide and at that point you should probably learn it. Now that I've learned to speed slide correctly, I average around 24.07

Are you using keyboard? It's hard to sd with keyboard, I have the same issue
@Beridok7 жыл бұрын
1) I see the same font & style as riolu in his videos. (Maybe it's template for Sony or whatever program you may both use). 2) Slow-mo of whole Kripke's replay would be useful, if properly placed text on that, in my opinion. 3) Will you make more video-guides of Nadeo tracks? 4) Those 2 frames: imgur.com/a/khamU :p
@rollintm7 жыл бұрын
1) Walkway is a popular font, why does it matter that riolu uses the same? 2) You can just download his replay on tmx and do that yourself. 3) For now this is a one-time thing (video is not really meant to be serious). 4) render erros in vegas, can happen sadly :(
@Beridok7 жыл бұрын
1) No, it doesn't matter. I just said where I noticed that font. Seen only in his videos. 2) Well, I can, but... let me think, maybe with proper camera work you could point out it better. I don't know. It's usually expected to see explanation, then watch result, having the new knowledge. 3) I hoped for more. It was quite interesting. Thanks for you answer, take care =)

"sd" ghello use da correct name "s4d" pls
@rollintm6 жыл бұрын
s4d just refers to the method of initiating the sd (with a brake), whereas the term "sd" is the speedslide itself (there is only 1). Therefore iniating the sd with a brake and doing a s4d are analogous.
