The minute I stopped using oil, my hair stays hydrated and so soft. My scalp is also happy with the change. I haven’t used oil for months! I only use rose water every day or every other day

That's actually the opposite for me. When I was just the spray. My hair was SUPER DRY. When I moisturize with alittle oil. It was so much better. Less dandruff. I had so much dandruff when my hair was super dry and my hair was softer.

I have a few flat locs too and I have been wearing a bonnet since day 1. The longest I go without a retwist is 3 months. Right now it’s been 2 months and I really want to keep it going. I love how thick my roots are. I will be 2yrs loc’d in March and my 2 strand twist pattern hasn’t went away. I be looking at my locs sometimes and be like these look like kinky twist. 🤷🏽‍♀️

@@holisticflo I've been on a personal loc journey since July of 2021. It has definitely been a journey of do's and don'ts, trial and error. I watch various videos on KZbin from people on their journey, such as yourself, and try to find my own path with the information. I found it useful from you mentioning distilled water. I was using purified drinking bottled water in a spray bottle, but switched to the distilled water.

FYI: you have to use penetrating oils, olive oil, avocado oil etc…these oils don’t create a barrier which block moisture. All oils aren’t penetrating which causes more dryness and prevent moisture. I use olive oil and avocado oil once a week and spray Rosewater.

I agree I feel as if your a person that wants your hair to be perfect all the time or in order or always neat and retwisted then locs aren't for you. Im now 11 months loc's in which I get a retest every 2 months. Yet I enjoy my hair when its not tamed I enjoy the freedom that my hair has to be in its natural form.

I haven't used oil in my hair in about 3 or 4 months. *For me* it's working well and my locs are thriving! I realize this doesn't hold true for everyone. But for me and my scalp (I have seborrheic dermatitis) no oils has been the key!

Hi, thanks for watching. I'm not sure how long you have had your extensions, but i do know that the starter phase is the most itchy for the scalp because its getting used to locking.

Are triangle parts ok? What’s the main difference between these and the regular square ones ? Thank you
@shaniagrant9449
@shaniagrant9449 2 жыл бұрын
Personally, I think triangle parts look cool but you have to go to a good loctitian to get them right. Also retwisting may be a bit of a struggle when self maintaining because you have to be careful to get the correct parts when separating locs after a wash.
@holisticflo
@holisticflo 2 жыл бұрын
Triangle parts are completely okay. Its sort of the same concept as diamonds parts. They just tend to need more frequent maintenance to keep them neat. The main difference between triangle and square is just the shape of the parts. In my opinion, they don’t affect the look of the locs any differently than one another

I can't guarantee any results from these things but you could try: -going longer in between retwists -try less product on your locs Also, you just started your journey and they thicken out over time
