Another GREAT video! Just curious, you say that you have a small boat, what size is it? Also, is their a particular time of year when fishing is really good at Calcasieu Pass? Again, THANK YOU!

Ah, I just saw your rig in your Grand Isle video, it looks to be a 16-18' boat. I have a 16' tracker with a 40 HP Honda, which for a small boat takes relatively big water well, riding high and dry, so, I LOVE that you're pointing out areas where I too can enjoy success, making the long drive from the Denver metro area, well worth it, especially when having relatives who have traveled far, to fish with me. You truly are teaching others to fish, and when exploring new places, your tips are invaluable. God Bless You for spreading the wealth, Tight Lines Brother!

It's an Alumacraft V16, 16 ft aluminum boat, but with a decent V hull and about 72" wide. Fishing is almost always great at Calcasieu Pass, but in colder winters, Jan and Feb can be a little slow. I prefer water temps above 60 deg F.

@@jesusprofessor314, okay, so we are just about in the same boat. I really enjoy the details that you put into your videos, as well as the positive spiritual testimony. So much to the point that when I do finally venture out, I’ll be familiar with the area, techniques to use, and confident about having some success. I’ve only fished the Hopedale/Shell Beach area of Louisiana a couple times thus far, with enough success that I really want to get back, and will probably venture down to the Venice area sometime soon. I didn’t see any videos from those areas on your site, but am wondering if you’ve given them a try? Then again, when you’re experiencing local success, why travel any farther than you have to?!😜 Again, thanks for your replies, past and anticipated future reports, tight lines and God Bless!

@@johnlantz3771 From my research, Venice requires much longer boat rides AND is more highly variable depending on winds, tides, and river outflow. It's harder to know where the fish are going to be without a lot of local experience based on conditions. Caminada and Calcasieu pass are easier to predict - the fish are almost always in a few places. Lodging in Venice can also be tricky. As slow as my boat is, I have a strong preference for great fishing within a mile or two of a boat ramp.

@@jesusprofessor314, oh, I hear ya' and couldn't agree more! Just curious, are there any camping locations that you could recommend around Calcasieu Pass? Also, are there any good areas to surf fish from shore around Calcasieu pass as well? I'd really like to try the Caminada area around Grand Isle, do you have any idea as to how long it'll take to recover from Hurricane Ida, or when it'll at least be cleared up enough to be fishable? Again, THANK YOU for all of your tips, insight and inspiration, it is VERY much appreciated. WHEN I get down there, I'll be fishing in a 16" Tracker with blue stripes, powered by a 40 HP Honda. Take care, God Bless, and Tight Lines my friend!
