OMG. Your story was exactly mine. I’m 50. Did CF for 4 years 2011-2015 and was in best shape of my life. Injuries made me stop and I never went back. Gained back the weight I lost in CF and then some. I’m inspired. Going to do a class this weekend.

Bro!! I’m you and you’re me!! Orange theaory is an excellent workout, but let me tell you this, if you adopt a Whole Foods Plantbased diet AND do orange theory you will reach levels of fitness AND health you never thought possible. Your BP, cholesterol, etc will reach levels you’ve never though possible.

Love this video. I am a 40-something woman CrossFitter who gained some weight and needed a shake-up. Tried my first free OTF “shiny” class today. I really enjoyed it! I also need the group thing and think doing this a few times a week mixed with strength training and mobility on my own will be an awesome and balanced mix.

I am 46 and also did CrossFit until hurt neck and back from poor technique using kettle bells. Been doing OTF for 4 years, 2-3 times per week. I am currently at my lightest weight and in better cardiovascular shape than I was 20 plus years ago. Keep it up! CrossFit is not designed for old guys like us, OTF is.

I'm a 45 year old bald-headed graying-bearded (JUST shaved it off this morning) dad who also used to be in awesome shape (marathoning, mostly) but then got sidelined by minor but mounting injuries. After seeing OTF sites pop up around here and then seeing it cameo on an episode of Queer Eye, I decided to look into it, found this video, and now I'm signed up for a free class on Wednesday morning. Thanks for the information and the push.

Hah, Agree! It is 'shiny', which is the only thing I really don't like... but I understand why. It's designed for anyone and everyone. They always do the same speeches and talks at the start, but that's needed to for new people, etc. I'm not new to fitness, and I don't need all of the motivational talks, etc, but a lot of people do. However, the workout can be very intense IF YOU WANT IT TO BE, but entry level IF YOU NEED IT TO BE. 5 months in and loving it. It's expensive, but they also have trainers that have degrees in Kinesiology(the head trainer at my OTF at least) that correct your form, and are very encouraging and upbeat, so that's good. My wife also loves it.

My day 1 was Mar 25th, 2016 and this video could have been scripted for me down to every detail. I did the Crossfit, I'm in my 40's, and I fell in love with OTF after the first day. Fast forward 2 1/2 years and I am still going 4 times a week, still love it, and I have lost 40 lbs. Enough said!!

Carlito ! Don’t worry ! Im a middle aged mama and I love OT! The best thing about is that I can work out early before day break 5 AM, 5 X a week while my child is still sleeping in bed. OT is 120 min away from my house as well ! Super easy to get in and out !

I just had my day 1 at OTF on Tuesday (4/17) and I’m also “middle age”, a mom at 38. I put off signing up until 3 days after my first day because also like you I get excited and never go back which I did with kickboxing.com. So tomorrow (4/20) will be the day I sign up for the 8x a month plan. I intend on supplementing my lifting with OTF to help balance out what I got going on. Used to be in bodybuilding but just stopped cold turkey after a major life event and sad to say my bodybuilding body is not here anymore after 5 months of a sedentary lifestyle. So my plan is to stick this out because I need accountability!! And a group setting helps with that... for me anyways. Thanks so much for your candid review and I plan to follow your journey as I start on mine!

Did my first class today too as a 46 year old guy, competitive as well, with fitness goals to run a half marathon & improve my squats/deadlifts/bench to 1000+ total. I already do 500-600 minutes per week on my own and 2 PT sessions. It was a good class today and regimented cardio sessions. I think the 4 classes per month will be the one I pick.

I’m 58: 1-I’ve been doing judo since 11 years. Can’t take the tossing around anymore, besides it’s a dieing sport so hard to find somewhere to do drills and continue training 2-Ive done the gym thing could not focus 3- Ive done cross fit & HIT cross fit beat the crap out of my body after a few years. ( I was in my early 30’s when I started ) 4- Ive done kicking boxing ( Casualty of COVID-19 no contact most if not all closed down at least by me ) 5- Currently I’m doing OTF , it’s perfect for me at my age. It doesn’t have the impact on my joints that the above do and get a full body workout which is what I need. I recommend it to anyone with joint or muscle issues. Or if you want a well rounded excise routine. Btw since Ive always been active I pretty much hold my own in most classes. And the staff and facilities are terrific. Also if you travel they are OTF locations most anywhere and you can use .Well at least on the east coast. No additional cost. It’s not cheap but considering what you get it’s s bargain. Especially if you go like me 5 times a week. You pay now and add quality of life or you pay later with half ass quality of meds and possibly a horrible ending. Good luck to you all & Keep moving in a positive manner. Thanks for your review Carlos.

As I’ve gotten older and heavier I’ve developed plantar fasciitis and am so worried about the treadmill part! Do you do one section than the other, or keep going between cardio and weights?
@CarlosWhittaker6 жыл бұрын
They have STRIDERS!!! So you don;t have to worry about that!!!
@libbykunst61326 жыл бұрын
They also have bikes! You can substitute biking or striding for rowing or running. Also, the trainers give you a power-walking option where they just increase your incline instead of the speed. I don't know if any of those would help you, but you should definitely try it!
