I really appreciate that you always include the wash and decon process even when the video is focused on polishing/coating/interior. It’s the most satisfying part of the process to me.

Chels that truck is from an era when I loved your country the most.. The movies, the music - overall culture - that was it, everything from the US of A was the bomb. It made me (as a very little kid) yearn to understand it more and (as a kid would) watch Cartoon Network (one of few channels we had here in Poland on satellite TV) non stop and somehow learn English. I never got any lessons, in school I had different language class (German, French) yet from when I can remember I speak English, I guess I learned from just listening to it.Just wanted to share. Amazing car; I love it more than the new Raptors (although they are cool too, in a way..) and I really like your longer vids!

I love using meguires red soft spot cutting pad in single stage when doing 1 steps. Vary durable pad and has never disappointed me and never failed to cut or finish out. They have 2 versions as well a thin and thick version.

That was interesting. I've done 2 single stage polishes, and both times was nervous. The oxidation both times was nasty. But both had gobs paint. Lucky that way. Brian at Apex put an acrylic polish down first so the ceramic didn't soak into the single stage so much and gave the coating a smoother appearance. Thats what I'm trying next time. The truck looked super nice Chelsea.

I used Invisible Glass Glass Stripper with a rayon pad on my 2002 F250 and 1973 240Z. On the F250 it slaugheted the water spots, and probably 75-80% on the 240Z but took a couple of passes. It dries up quickly, so I kept a spray bottle of distilled water handy.

@@jaydeez1021 the previous owner it looks like they actually applied Cerakote wipes to it. There was a clear coat all over all of the trim and the tanneu bed cover. It’s the first I’ve ever seen it and it did not come off even if polished. It definitely was shiny, but I can’t claim the credit for the truck bed cover

460 big block wasn’t available in the F150 in 1989. You had to move to the F250 or F350 to get it. The 150 was available with the 300 straight six, the 302 Windsor, or the 351 Windsor small block V8. The 250 and 350 were available with the 351, the 460, or the 7.3 diesel. Hope this helps :)

Hey Chelsea, great video!! Have you used DIY metal coating on anything else and what are your thoughts on it ? Also what coating or coatings have given you the most longevity from your experience?
@attention2detailswchelsea2 ай бұрын
I haven’t because it’s rare for me to have polished aluminum wheels as typically most wheels are clear coated and you can use normal coatings on them or wheel coatings so this was my first time working with the metal coating. I could have used a normal coating but parts of the clear on the tailgate had failed and I figured this would bond better than a normal ceramic coating.
@attention2detailswchelsea2 ай бұрын
The most longevity- at this moment the Ethos Graphene coating lasted 3 yrs for me before it started to show signs of failure and that’s because I tested it on my own car. A lot of my customers who I have coated their cars haven’t returned to it’s hard to say but I’ve seen 2+ yrs from Mckees 37 Graphene to date and it looks great

Yes solvent pop, orange peel, fish eyes and all. Typically those can handle a gloss enhancement well but I don’t chase the defects

By ringing out your polishing pads, would it damage it in the long run?
@attention2detailswchelsea2 ай бұрын
No as long as you’re note wringing down in them super tight and a ton. I do it maybe two loose twists and then air dry. If nervous you can spin them dry on the polisher but I’ve never had a problem
