I've been using Cubase for more than 10 years and you still manage to show me functions I have never heard of, fantastic!!! Thank you!

As a mixing engineer I always do this manually for both accuracy and as part of my process to get familiar with what each track is doing so I'll do the cleanup song section by song section while the audio is playing.

Whatever works best for you. I understand it is a nice way to get familiar with each track 👍

what if you have 100 tracks in project and you need to delete silence...
@LanewoodStudios6 ай бұрын
@kostyakonstantinoff towards the end of the video I show how to do this for multiple tracks at once.

I always clean the silences, for same reasons you gave. But I learned a couple of new things I didn’t know with your video, thank you! Specially that related to vst3 and the tool to automatically delete.

I used to use Detect Silence all the time many years ago... Cubase 9/10? But only on vocals. I haven't worked with a vocalist since 2018-ish and hence forgot all about it.🤦♂ I will now add this back into my workflow today. 😊 Another great video!

I often use the Range Selection Tool to remove manually the unwanted silence. But I also use the keycommand "mute Event", which I like. Another way is to use Parts to glue and mute tiny audio events together.

Thank you for this excellent video. I was hoping Cubase did this, as it's useful for Music/Vocals but even more so for Podcast Dialogue! I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to viewing your other videos.

This is a game changer that I never knew about??. I'm doing a lot of dialog editing these days(podcasts), and I've been cutting out silence and doing fades manually.....there are few things more tedious in life!! 😳. Silence detection will be a HUGE time saver 😊🙏

@@LanewoodStudios Just tried it out and it works great. It will take some tweaking to get release times and pre rolls just right, but it works. Only one big drag, I'm on C11 Pro and it doesn't have the autofade function. I've got C12 but it's down right now. There's some kind of license glitch that needs to be sorted. Regardless this silence removal is a great new tool to have 🙂
@LanewoodStudios Жыл бұрын
@@J-DUB-F1 great that it works for you. It does indeed need some tweaking but I find that I can then mostly use the same settings.

Great video! I have used detect silence in the past when I have captured a stream of songs and jingles/comedy clips adding up to over 100 separate events which using Cubase export ‘multiple files’ features I was able to export them all in 1 export action to import into my music app and re-order and play them in a playlist.

I always end up with your preferred view but, I prefer to go through an interim stage where unwanted material is muted onscreen. By the way, I’m referring to Pro Tools, where selections can be muted, turning them a pale gray and removing them from all processing while remaining grayed for my reference and possible rethink. As I grow comfortable with my edits, muted segments can be selected en masse and removed from view entirely. Sorry for going off topic but I’m curious if Cubase has anything similar.
@LanewoodStudios Жыл бұрын
Good idea. Cubase has muted events as well.

It you’re rendering MIDI, I don’t think it makes a difference, but with audio? Big reduction in the noise floor.
