Quite remarkable, thanks for sharing. It would be great if you could always provide a link to an actual study. I can't even figure out how recent that is

I think you can find it if you go to google scholar and search for this: Biomarker Changes during 20 Years Preceding Alzheimer’s Disease. I won't include a link because that could cause my comment to be auto blocked.

Sometimes the info that you really want is hidden in the video description, so always remember to click on it to see what’s written in there. ;-)

Among patients with both biomarkers, what percentage DO NOT go on to develop Alzheimer's?

@@DCGreenZone Could you express that as a percentage?🐯

It's also a crucial discovery as some targets aim to slow the disease rather than prevent Alzheimer's disease entirely. Imagine slowing the disease starting 20 years before onset. How many more years would it be before the onset if the treatments to delay onset were started that much sooner?
@SK-lt1so
@SK-lt1so Ай бұрын
Nothing new in treatments offered here- It's all the same advice your primary care doctor has been telling you for years- Get enough sleep, don't smoke/drink ETOH, watch your BP/weight, exercise, correct your hearing and vision. People just don't listen to their primary care MD, and watch these videos instead.

It's not easy to collect that fluid, a spinal tap is very uncomfortable to go through.

Joy Milne's idea of smelling biomarkers from the spine was way more fascinating than this.

Really good insight on Alzheimer's, it could help develop better habits for people to avoid it
@NemosYouTube

But that assumes habits have anything to do with it. The causes of the changes could be purely genetic in nature with no epigenetic connection.

how is year before onset defined in the control group ?

Lol..... I can't seem to find my cell phone. Seriously folks...and yet.. ok... It's like that it's just... My Olde Stoners disease. But I'm comfortable with that. When I can't find my pot I get concerned about it.

And why do I need to know this in advance when there’s a chance I never get it? Yeah no thanks not interested it’s redundant. I either get it or I don’t, I don’t need to know, as I live in the moment not for any opportunist’s future. I don’t waste time thinking about ifs. I won’t get it anyway it doesn’t run in the family.

An animation of a fictional graphic is a new low point in 'science' journalism. The lab coat wearing speakers of a script likewise seem ... odd. And actually this only confirms an assumption, doesn't take a step towards understanding WHY, or what to do for prevention. So, meh.

Not only is their first language a language with completely different phonetics, they’re using scientific jargon that can be difficult for even native English speakers. They probably also have a script since this is significant research they want to clearly present. Please be respectful and more understanding

Think about their discovery and then how shallow your comment is. What have you achieved at all in life, let alone speaking any word of Chinese.
