Detecting Marshall MG30DFX common problem

A lot of people talk about the poor power supply of this amplifier, but that is not the real reason for random interrupting of sound or clipping. Many of them put stronger capacitors than 2200μF, trying to replace the transformer, ... but this is the most common problem with this model of amplifier.
Solution (one of):
If your female connector labeled "CD in" is good (like mine is) you can just replace it with a faulty "Emulated line out & headphones" connector because those faulty contacts are not used in place of the "CD in" connector.

hey i have the same amp, had that exact same problem and this video helped me solve it so thanks a lot! but now sadly im getting some sort of distortion on the clean channel. i have a tiny osciloscope and i can see spikes near both ends of a sine wave. it's driving me crazy

I had one with sound out on headphones but not speaker same problem changed all sockets to chassis type with gold rings sounded better looked better.

This happened to my MG15 CDR. I believe it happened with having my headphone jack plug in there for so long without removing it for about a year or more because i have and use other amps.

My amp sounds really low volume. When I plug in a guitar I have to turn it up to max volume in both clean and OD and still hardly no sound. I plug a keyboard and the keyboard has to be max volume to hear it and the amp too, max volume in both OD and clean. There is NO guitar rock and roll distortion sound what so ever on my amp. So the one in this video is really loud and rock and rolly like it should be. What is wrong with mine? Volume is MAX and I get low volume. I can hear very loud sound/pop when I unplug or plug a cord into the input so I know the amplification works but it is not working right once the cord is plugged in all the way.. Too low. I also forgot to mention that the sound is hissing so there is a hiss all the time like the OD is up loud but the actual output of the keyboard or guitar is still too low. The hiss goes away when the volume is turned down. The effects and tone levels work fine too, but again volume of anything plugged in, including CD in, is too low

@@SweeetJohnny Nope! I still get very very low volume. For a mic I have to scream and put it to my mouth, and for everything else, still too low and I have to turn up the volume on both the amp and the instrument to max to barely get decent volume. The gain has to be up to max too but that just brings the EFFECT hiss up

You don't need to buy new, you can just clean and bend this metal part to get better contact (more tension).

i didnt get it how to fix that how get it solder in between so it can stick ?

It's up to your creativity and skills. If you do not intend to use the headphone input, you can short connect (solder) the pins of these contacts (on the PCB). If you want to invest a little more effort and time, then you can unsolder this contact that I touch in the video (only the metal part and separate it from the plastic) and bend it in such a way that when you put it back it makes a better contact.
