Yep - I’m very lucky to have such beautiful scenery, although I’m quite envious of the gold rush history in your area and the amazing old relics and tokens you find! While it’s possible to find similar goodies down here in Tassie, permissions are very hard to get!

Nice vid mate. I did the same thing on holiday last year, and found 2 threepences, plus a 5c piece that turned into a Vicky threepence (1890) when I got home and cleaned it up. It's a very pleasant way to while away a few hours . . . .

It’s surprising how much you can find in these locations, but I guess it makes sense as the tides and rough seas push the coins up into the rocks where they are trapped. Always nice to find a few old silvers too!

This is the reality of MDing. 80 % crap. Patience and persistence is a requirement of this hobby. Enjoyable video thank you 🎉

Thanks for watching! It’s not all rings and coins that’s for sure, but sometimes you find something unexpected!

For a cheap crevice tool , find some old windscreen wiper arms and shape/grind to a shape that works in the crevices.

Good idea - I might try that!

P.S. if you are interested, a 22mm chair leg rubber ($2.50 or thereabouts at Bunnings for a pack of 4) will fit over the end of your MI pinpointer, and save the scraping on the nose.

Yeah good advice - I need to get onto that before I ruin my pinpointer!

Well. The big question is... did you catch a fish? Great video. Cheers John

Yep, but unfortunately no salmon which is what I was hoping for. I could only manage a grass whiting, wrasse, and flathead…
