Another great video. Kudos to you CWS! Best thing I learned today.... was the possibility of mixing phases. Makes a lot of sense especially for us females where bench is concerned. Thank you.

Is there any way you can make a video on how to program for people that have to do less than optimal frequency with just push pull squat splits? For whatever reason they can’t do full body and therefore can only hit everything up to twice a week what would be optimal at that point?

If there is no specific meet date, would it be effective to switch phases when resistance to adaption sets in? For example: I start a hypertrophy phase and consistently make rep max PRs for multiple 4+1 waves on my high intensity days until I am no longer able to make those rep maxes. At this point I have exhausted the hypertrophy phase and it is time to move onto the strength phase?

Amazing video Chad, super helpful! One question, when working with athletes (fighters and football players) do you also use a phasic approach or do you prefer using a more concurrent approach in this case ?
@JuggernautTrainingSystems
@JuggernautTrainingSystems 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Still a phasic approach but the phase organization is different as specificity has changed the framework of the whole program, so rather than Hypertrophy/Strength/Peaking the organization may be based more around GPP/Alactic Power/Alactic Capacity.

I kinda really love the periods of time that I don't have any specific comps coming up where I can kinda lower volume in the main lifts and do a bit more volume with accessories/bodybuilding. But I also do love the periods of time that I am doing dedicated training for a specific competition.

Can in the end of the series make a full 12-16 week program for a lifter and tell us why you chose this exercise and this set/rep scheme? It's not fully clear on your book!

Is it a bad idea to always run periodized programs of the same length leading to a 1rm/comp, Chad mentioned getting burnt out and mentioned GPP, how do you maintain or get stronger when not running a training cycle?
@JuggernautTrainingSystems
@JuggernautTrainingSystems 5 жыл бұрын
You might not (probably wont) get stronger during a GPP Block or Bridge Phase but getting healthy during that time, building work capacity, resensitizing the body (avoiding adaptive resistance) and giving your mind a break from more structured training can help you get stronger in the long run.

Great video, and appreciate the content your putting out in this series. I had one question to do with mesocycle length and phase length, how do you make them work together. Say if I determined that my mesocycle length should be 4+1 and my hypertrophy phase is 8 weeks, would i just skip the second deload week and go straight into strength phase or adjust the hypetrophy phase length to be a multiple of the mesocycle length. Thanks, Andrew
@JuggernautTrainingSystems
@JuggernautTrainingSystems 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Don't skip the deload, you'll just have to give up 1 week on one side or the other, either 4+1 and 3+1 Hypertrophy or 4+1 and 4+1 and take a week of strength, not a huge concession either way so I wouldn't stress about it too much.

Wouldn't beginners tend to progress faster in terms of strength? How do you make up for that when doing so long cycles, wouldn't beginners tend to benefit more from testing more often? or do you implement amraps in training and then work from new estimated maxes? Thanks in advance

Has the AI been programmed to mix phases together for some athletes? I am assuming that wouldbe difficult to program.
@raunvs

I wrote it when you were talking about it. As soon as I posted you said you weren't a fan. So I am assuming you haven't programmed this for AI
@JuggernautTrainingSystems
@JuggernautTrainingSystems 5 жыл бұрын
It's not my favorite thing but there are definitely times when it is appropriate. At this point I don't forsee that as a decision the AI system would make but when it is in the mobile app (March 2019) it is something I could see having enough power for at that point.

Whats your opinion on dinosaur training. Usually guys arent training for a comp but for a garage gym PB where they can absorb all the praise from the crowd, usually just the cat on the bench. Off the track but a popular dino method is training hard with singles for a significant time period. Most guy autoregulate or joe weider instinctive principle🤣, and take extra rest days when needed.

Carlos Do val I don’t think you need phasic training for that considering that one of the phases for meet prep is hypertrophy. It’s one of those things where one includes the other but it’s not true the other way aeound

As far as I know they're more concerned with strength sports rather than bodybuilding. I'm sure tons of their info about programming is highly relevant. There are other good resources for hypertrophy training like John Meadows, Dr. Mike Israetel, and Joe Bennett
