Thank you so much for this. I'm a butch woman (30) who works in mental health. At least 2-3 times a week, I'm asked my pronouns, asked if "I'm sure" that I don't use other pronouns, asked what my "gender situation is"... Just the other day, a 12 year old (who's asked my pronouns several times "in case I changed my mind") asked me what my gender was. I told her that I was a woman... her response "you mean, like a woman AND a man?" No. I am a woman who doesn't fit in with stereotypes, but I'm still a woman. It seems impossible for this generation (and honestly even their parents and my coworkers) to even understand gender non-conformity when literally presented with it to their faces. I was complaining about being asked my pronouns all the time to a coworker, saying "I understand I have short hair and wear comfortable clothing, but that doesn't make me less of a woman!" to which my coworker actually said, "But you're a lesbian?" As if that somehow discredited my womanhood. Being a lesbian doesn't make me less of a woman either. I'm so sick of this movement. But I appreciate you bringing awareness, for sharing your stories. And I'll be doing my part in my little corner of the world, standing firm as a butch woman, and hopefully a beacon for other lesbians who feel left out.

Thank you for being You!! People buying into this nonsense trend aren’t the brightest lights and easily influenced. More people are catching on though. You rock.

It's the weirdest thing. Like all the most sexist stereotypes are the only ones allowed, and our bodies must match these extreme stereotypes even if it has to be medically and surgically altered to do so. It's been this way for a long time.

I admire lesbians w/ the courage and integrity to be authentic. I feel disdain for those who are so cowardly that they try to opt out by 'transitioning.' Of course it is hard at times to be your authentic self as a lesbian but what you gain is self-respect and integrity and a whole, healthy intact body w/ full sexual function. If you have larger breasts and it is a problem get a reduction but you don't have to 'transition' and mutilate your body to become a fake man. Don't invalidate yourself by 'transitioning' as that is just 'gay conversion therapy' wrapped in a 'progressive' package, it is 'sex lobotomy,' don't fall for it.

It’s great to hear another butch woman speak about their experience. Seems like we are a dying breed as a whole. Culture needs to be altered, not our bodies.

I absolutely don't care about anyone's declared gender or sexual orientation. I just want everyone to be free to be who they are. Great to see Sinead. I haven't seen her for too long. Really good video.

I never understood the binder-thing in lesbians. If you hate your own breasts, what message are you sending to your lover? As for the mastectomies: aren’t you effectively desensitizing erogenous zones? Why????

Honestly I'm a "femme in the streets" but I'd have one for reasons of comfort, because that's no erogenous zone for me at all. I see dignity in accepting my biology for what it is, however, so I am the way I am.

I'm a lesbian. I was very gender conforming growing up. I loved my dolls and my doll's tea set and doll's pram. I also grew up being exclusively attracted to butch women. I adore butch women.

Whatever rocks your boat, I say, but I teach my kids that you absolutely cannot decide your "gender" based on your interests or style. That's insane and everything we've been trying to get rid of. Personally I respect the trans community, they can do whatever they wish. However, my same-SEX AND same-gender attraction is not up for discussion, I'm attracted to biologically and socially female persons only. This includes people with short hair etc, hair has got nothing to do with sex or gender.

I wonder if no one should be watching porn of any sort, and this view of sex is troubling to women because it is not healthy or normal to be looking at?

I find this so confusing, nothing that's said here makes any sense to me and my lgbtqia community, because here we are all free to be ourselves. We are all friends, none of us pressure each other, and everybody is happy being a mix of themselves. I have butch friends, femme friends, queer friends, trans friends and non binary friends and this just isnt an issue. Lesbians date, queer people date, bi people date, gay people date, and we are all just doing what pleases us. Nobody would ever pressure anyone else because thats coersion, and its abuse. People talk openly, and discuss ideas, but everyone is very respectful of each persons preferences. Its a personal choice. People feel confident in their sexuality and their dating life, and only do what they want. Im so so sorry for this woman that she was raised in such a homophobic way, that's lead to so much confusion and loneliness. Its really sad. Its just important to keep that in perspective that it might be so in her life, but its just not like that in mine. The freedom to experiment, express, and be whatever is true for yourself, for folks to have a choice to be all the different ways is whats important - for everybody to be free to be themselves. That is the only goal, ive eber heard talked about in any of my lgbtq circles whether thats lesbian or bi or queer or trans or any of it. Its a spectrum, some people have a fixed place, others have more of a range. Its personal choice. I really wish these people peace, and healing, and comfort. I wish that noone is ever told they are wrong for being themselves, and that everyone is safe, and protected from harm. I wish for the end of homophobia and transphobia, and for everyone to just be free to be whoever they are and to date and love whoever theyre into. There really truely is enough room for everyone, to have self respect, to date, to find love. Its not that difficult. It doesnt have to be scary ❤

I’m confused 😅 same girl same. Living in the no man’s land between males and heterosexual women that we have very little in common to socially. It can be very tough. I find that many of us get involved In counter cultures. I know I did. And you can see how with online communities today young children could easily find themselves In these trans communities even by accident. It’s very concerning to see how many neurodivergent and gay girls are getting pushed into medicalization and end up regretting it later. 😢
