I colorized, restored and created a sound design for this video of Detroit, late 1930s , we can clearly see what is happening in broad daylight, We start by driving through a residential area, then we enter in Griswold Street , we can see walkers and traffic with plugs inside the car,
Video Restoration Process:
✔ FPS boosted to 60 frames per second
✔ Image resolution boosted up to HD
✔ Improved video sharpness and brightness
✔ Colorized only for the ambiance (not historically accurate)
✔added sound only for the ambiance
✔restoration:(stabilisation,denoise,cleand,deblur)
Please, be aware that colorization colors are not real and fake, colorization was made only for the ambiance and do not represent real historical data.

Thanks for this! My parents grew up in Detroit, so this lets me project myself back to the days when they were young. Pre-WWII, many people there felt that downtown Detroit was the center of the world. In 1927, the WSJ said that Detroit had the "highest slice of average prosperity in the world, now and at any other time." It showed in the best crop of skyscrapers then outside NYC and Chicago, a huge selection of great retail stores, and nearby neighborhoods with stately homes that made most Californian suburban homes seem like boxes. But downtown Detroit's retail revenue declined by about 30% in the 1950s, when neighborhood malls with free parking were first built. Thanks for showing the place in its glory days.

I love your videos and have watched them many, many times. I have a really good audio setup for recording. I've notice that there is a tremendous amount of "low end," or bass in your recordings. If the volume is normal, the sub woofer, which also acts as my footstool (another way to feel what the bass is doing), is moving a lot. A way to pull back on the low end is to apply an EQ in the audio track. Davinci Resolve has one of these. It's safe to pull everything down below 60hz (60 cycles of sound per second), for these recordings. "Shelving" everything below 60hz will still give the feel of the bass of the car sounds on the road, without retaining the very low sounds, which on most people's sound setups won't make much of a difference, and will take a lot of energy out of the recording and still sound good (means amplifiers will not have to struggle as hard to reproduce the recordings). Again, I cannot thank you enough for your videos. I love being able to look back into the past like this, dynamically.
