Damn i want to get my silver 8v92 to run of ethanol and use castor 927 maxima oil. Some of the oil can be pulled off and blended with a mixing valve and more dumped in as it burns down for total loss. Ethanol is 113 octane and would need a glow plug like did with the ethanol 6v92 and 8v92 experiment line hall trucks.

If you are paying attention, he never actually "double clutches." If you do it right, you only use the clutch to start and stop. The rest is done by feathering the throttle to match the rpm to the gear and the feel of the stick.
@bananab38132 жыл бұрын
Because non synchronous gearbox i think
@rogerhobday83697 ай бұрын
Actually I was thinking, he has two choices. Either put a couple of strong magnets in the gearbox to catch the tooth fragments or use the bloody clutch. Sloppy, real sloppy shifting.

Thirty years ago I drove a Mack twin stick Mack after driving a 10 and 13 speed tractors & Bobtails. The auxiliary was opposite. It took me time to get learn. Going uphill was a challenge especially if I forgot which gear I was in or missed a gear and had to pull to the side and start all over. Your shifting is smooth and awesome compared to other videos I’ve seen. I’ve asked drivers today if they’ve driven twin sticks and none have. At least I had this experience and still could do it if there is a tractor with twin sticks.

The 8V92TA is the best sounding Detroit Diesel in my opinion. It sounds like an 8V71 (318) with a deeper pitch and the turbo whine. Not as loud as a 318 and whole lot more power.

Firstly- cool video... now, on to reality. I started my career with one of those things , and I was around drivers who drove them all their lives. They made driver lose their hearing, they were god awful slow, they got lousy fuel mileage , they seldom went more than 250-300k without having to be in framed . I drive one for my first year trucking and I was sick and tired of that sound after the first week. That said, it is cool to hear it again, but as someone who grew up around them, I don't miss them really. I did give it a " like " though... for fun.
