I finally sat down and watched this. Working on older buses, I rarely encounter 4 valve engines. I'm saving this video, I like the way you did this. BTW: If God had created these engines before He created us, He would have given us three hands.

Great video - especially liked the closeups. Dumb question: Could one 0.030 feeler gauge on one side be substituted for the two 0.015 or would that throw off the balance?

Should use .015 on both sides. The bridge on these has a pin that rides in a bore so it can’t rock one way or the other. This adjustment makes sure the bridge acts on both valves equally and simultaneously. Actual valve lash is measured between the rocker and bridge.

Sir, I have 2 8v71n engines in my boat I followed your methods which worked out well , but when I set the rack on both L and R banks the injectors remained in the full power position , is this normal , now I don't want to start them incase they go straight to full power , both engines have variable speed governor's which I don't have a manual for so I'm uncertain if I missed a few steps
